Gorvgo ran as fast as his stunted legs would carry him. He was blessed with long fingers and sharp claws to climb but in return he had been cursed with stilted legs that hindered his speed. He finally made it to the edge of the put and looked down to see Sparky.
"Fire gobby!!" he cried in surprise "Gorvgo and rabbi hug thought u and blue skin dead for sure! Since u werent following w us figured bad creeper had eaten u or something…"
staring down he saw that sparky was pinned to the spikes at the bottom. His blood leaking out of him. It made Gorvgo salivate a little. He began wondering what a fire gobl might taste like… but sparky's moans brought him back from these thoughts.
"Hold on fire gob. Me come down and save you! Me be big hero this time!"
With a big toothy grin Gorvgo hitched up his greasy robes and crawled down the side of the pit. He was careful to avoid the spikes that appeared to be covered in something. Excrement perhaps?
He pulled Sparky from the spikes and tied the rope around his waste ignoring the pitiful moans of protest and then climbed back up with the limp form of the fire caster. He opened his mouth and poured one of his remaining potions down Sparky's mouth. And began dressing the festering wounds singing an odd somg about a pyooce chancellor saving a flaming ball of gas. Years of torturing had taught the mad priest a thing or two about keeping people alive…

    Default Striegboirk

Striegboirk tried to open the panel, wincing in anticipation. Striegboirk at least wanted to see inside before going to see if Sparkstar was dead or in need of Strigboirk's healing magic.

Striegboirk set finger to a tab along the edge of the north-facing secret panel. He had heard a shriek from back down the passage. Sparky's voice, but Sparky wasn't Strieg's problem. Served him right for abandoning the safe course just when it was found, Strieg thought to himself as he swung open the panel and peered inside.

A long, dark tunnel opened before Strieg, running straight for longer than his vision reached. The only thing in there were two small piles of random debris and dust. Bits of corroded gears and pieces of broken tools and odd slivers and bits of metal were scattered across the floor along with unrelieved dust, cobwebs and some pieces of cloth too deteriorated to even call rags. As Strieg stared, a small brazier hanging near the ceiling came alive with the familiar purple-black flames of the outpost, and seconds later another, further down, then another even further. The hallway ran for perhaps seventy feet in a straight line to another doorway. This Strieg couldn't help but recognize. Safety.

During his brief stay, Strieg had only had occasion to cross the Gauntlet twice, and both times he had been accompanied by others who were familiar with the layout, so he had paid no mind to the course taken. Not that he was admitting as much to the others. Blaming it on time's wonky-ness was less embarrassing. But he recognized one of the secret side passages when at last he found one. Strieg didn't have to avoid traps. Strieg could simply bypass the trapped corridors.

Sparky lay, miserable and in pain. He kept his eyes closed as he tried to extricate himself in a futile attempt to not need help. Especially not from Gorvgo. But despite his best efforts, Sparky was still in the pit when the priest's head peeked over the edge and started his descent, climbing as nimbly as some damned forest squirrel, as he noticed Sparky's condition.
"Fire gobby!! Gorvgo and rabbi hug thought u and blue skin dead for sure! Since u weren't following us figured bad creeper had eaten u or something…" Staring down Gorvgo saw that Sparky was pinned to the spikes at the bottom. His blood leaking out made Gorvgo salivate a little. He began wondering what a fire gob might taste like… but Sparky's moans brought him back from these thoughts. "Hold on fire gob. Me come down and save you! Me be big hero this time!"

Gobs continued his work, erasing runes of magic from the sconce as Bubbisa watched. The two were involved in clearing a safe path of their own until that enemy was finally found.

Striegboirk Perception once he opens the door d20(16)+8=24+2(Slurry d20(10)+8=18, successfully aids)=26, sees debris and a long straight tunnel. Debris looks like nothing more than random trash and dust/dirt. This is definitely a secret path. Definitely. Strieg is sure.
Gorvgo has several rounds of movement and actions. Sparky feel free to react. Bubbisa, Gobs is still trap disabling atm. Thanks for watching his back.

Sparkskar's eyelids were heavy cloth weighed down by gold bars. They barely shifted even though he tried so hard to open them. His arm and leg felt as if they had been destroyed, a fact that was only intensified when he attempted to move them. A horrible sensation rippled through his body even though neither appendage had moved, and then he lost consciousness again.

His eyes fluttered open and he blinked through tears until the stone walls around him started to come into focus. He found himself laying in a pit of spike, some of which had pierced through his body and were even now projecting upward like angry orc teeth. It was as if the pit were about to chew him up. Sparky nearly passed out again from the shock of the situation. Seeing one's body impaled in so many places was a hard truth to take, and regardless of his fears or aspirations, he was left to consider the very real possibility of his imminent death. This was not how he imagined his death. Not this way. Not so pathetically!

Sweat poured profusely down his brows and mixed with his tears to sting his eyes. He hardly noticed through the sheer pain of his wounds and his mind was awash with pain. It was a testament to his strength that the little wizard didn't pass out again. Then the Devourer's minion appeared on the edge of his vision. Sparkskar's throat clenched and his was wracked by another fit of pain when his muscles tensed. They were muscles still torn and impaled. His frightful reaction only made things worse and Sparky struggled uselessly as his doom approached. He hoped he'd die then and there, if only to avoid a more painful death as the Rovagug acolyte made a meal of him. Gods be damned! He might have said so, if he didn't swoon and again lose consciousness.

When he woke next he was being forced to swallow some foul liquid. Sparky choked, nearly expelling the potion before he realized what was happening. Gorvgo knelt over his prone form and was pumping a potion into him. He could only assume it was curative, so the elementalist swallowed greedily. If it were some sort of poison or sedative, so be it. Let the Devourer choke on him later! But the fluid seemed to suffuse with his muscles and soothe some of the pain of his wounds. He growled as the greater part of the holes in his limbs sealed and the bleeding staunched, but the pain remained in full. Sparky lowered his head back to the stones and groaned in helpless acquiescence. He was at the mercy of a madgob.

    "Strieg...healing...need healing."

    Default Striegboirk

Striegboirk cautiously crept into the passage, collecting the random flotsam of gears and whatnots as Striegboirk slowly advanced. Striegboirk didn't remember any traps but Striegboirk liked Striegboirk's guts where Striegboirk's guts were supposed to be.

Strieg waddled down the dusty hallway, feeling a little relieved at finally avoiding the trapped hallways. He knew if he stayed with these corridors, he would eventually reach the stairs down, and finally exit this ruin, for the first time in over 5 centuries. As he bent to pick up a discarded gear, though, things spiraled out of control. Safety, it seemed, was not actually at hand. The little blue gob was on his own, and the enemy was with him.

Even as Strieg bent to snatch up the gear, perhaps to examine and keep, perhaps to toss aside, the gear slid away from his grasp, swirling together with other detritus and trash to form a tiny creature. Strieg's mind raced as the filthy little bugger turned to face him from but a step away. The thing stared at him through eye holes created by gear shards slammed together and gestured. A blast like a strong wind struck the azure gob hard, sending Strieg flying back into the tiny room he'd just left and slamming him into the southern wall. Strieg slid to the floor, wincing, and watched as the creature turned its empty eyes on Slurry, advancing and rising. The creature could fly! Strieg's mind clicked as he watched, thinking hard as to what he should do. And thats when he felt like he knew this creature. Ancient lore on undead creatures was one thing Strieg had studied and he was fairly sure of his identification. It fit with the trapped corridors and the deadly machines, as well as the incidents that the troupe had suffered. This was a gearghost!

Strieg, you won initiative; you have about three rounds solo here, as Sparky is in a pit, Gorvgo is with him, and Bubbisa and Gobs are no where near and involved with tasks. I figure it took a couple rounds of you searching door and then opening it and then proceeding with caution. Good luck, healer...
