Gorvgo was unfazed by the gearghost's attempt to fling him away. It's departure left him confused, but he knew enough to turn to Rabbi Hug for information on this undead. The Rabbi was cross, but helpful in his enigmatic way.

"Gearghosts thrive on the traps they build. Their nature is to keep traps, build them, maintain their function, ceaseless. They are the keepers of this Gauntlet. The maker is called Smiler. Once a goblin, he served here. He was a crony of Zag, the last King of Zog. Trapmaster of the Kingdom! They do not die just because you slay them. Their purpose rejuvenates them. Destroy their purpose, erase their sense of meaning, or ever shall they return. Also, they are tasty treats when shoved into a pickle."

Gorvgo headed back down the halls, armed with information to share with his fellow goblins. He raised his voice to chatter over the babbling of Strieg, trying to get Bubbisa's attention. He had important information for her!

Strieg and Gorvgo rushed by as Sparkskar recovered from the healing touch of the rat. It was a strange sensation, having his wounds knit by the groping claws of a rodent that more often than not spread disease. The Elementalist moved into the small alcove, where the hallway split north and east, and threw his back against the wall. There he breathed and collected his senses while the others continued on.

Sparkskar wasn't sure if the ghost was following. He didn't really need to be sure though. Why would the creature abandon a good fight when there were gobs to kill? His breathing back under control, he glanced to the right and an plan took form. Like the flare of a bright torch in his mind, he knew what he could do to bring the advantage back to the Brambleclaws.

"She-gob. Come with your axe and your strength. I have the spook in a trap and we can catch it in a gauntlet the likes of what he made us fall into. Strieg, come back with spells and bring the devourer too. He can feast on our leavings." Sparky whispered through the spell link and took up a position further to the east.

Sparky lifted his spear and set it, blade forward, with the butt end firmly planted into the stone, with the arch of his foot to give it more solidity. If the creature came, he'd be ready for it with a pointy surprise. Next, the wizard retrieved a bit of sulfur from within the folds of his robes and pinched it between his thumb and forefinger while he drew upon the elemental energies that would empower his spell. The words formed in his mind and he was ready to unleash them upon his enemy.

Gobs leaned back from his cramped stance hovering on his toe tips at eye level with the magical runes. He settled his ankles to unflexed, wincing a smidge as the tendons contracted painfully. Placing the tools he'd used back in his pouch where he knew he could get to them easily later, Gobs stepped up onto the lower lip of the column and laid his hands on the torch.

Fire shot out, limning the corners and edges of the room, as well as several secret panels previously unseen. It was not the black-and-purple expected, but a brilliant natural orange and red exactly matching the torch, which now appeared to be a simple lit torch. The edges wavered as if in a heat haze. The flames ceased pouring from the torch but stayed to light the room with a torchlight effect throughout. Gobs swayed as flames devoured his mind. Sigils and runes he didn't recognize filled his mind, like flames licking across a tapestry, slowly devouring it. Fire was at the heart of this thing. Fire was all it knew or wanted to know. Fire filled it and it was fire. Gobs tried to concentrate on the fiery designs bursting alight in his mind-tapestry, but it was too painful. Swearing loudly, Gobs dropped the torch.

The flame atop the torch froze even as it left Gobs' hand. The torchlight filling the room remained, but began to darken to a familiar black-purple hue. It clattered to the floor. Gobs was relieved to discover as soon as it left his hand that the images stopped, as well as the burning in his mind-tapestry. He blinked to clear the after image from his eye as if remembering it had summoned the actual image to burn its silhouette into his flesh and blood eye. The torch stunk of power, but Gobs wasn't sure he wanted to try and master it. He let it lay on the floor and turned to listen to the babbling of Strieg and Gorvgo just as Striegboirk belched impressively. Bubbisa was probably gonna smack one of them and Gobs grinned in anticipation, making to stride back to Bubbisa when he remembered the other panels that had been outlined in flames.

Gobs uses move action to put away thieve's tools from trap disabling last 4 rounds, move action to grab torch, free action to drop that **** 'cause it was too funky, five foot step back towards Bubbisa before he remembered them other secret doors
Bubbisa d20(15)+13 perception=28, success, sees all three secret doors now and can see that one (the one in western wall) is less well-hidden than the other two (southern and Eastern walls respectively)
Still await Bubbisa and the gearghost and then its full frontal goblins again...

Bubissa heard Sparkscar's words. She huffed in frustration. "Me be back in moment Gobs. Me see what fuss is about." She took off down the hallway past the new blue goblin to see Gorvgo and Sparkscar in a frenzy. One was babbling to his puppet and the other was bracing for an attack. "Where ghost? Me chop good!" She looked around looking for whatever had spooked them.

Amidst the hubbub of excited goblins, Bubbisa and her ax moved back down the corridor to find out what all the commotion was about, but all she found were goblins babbling and goblins readying for an attack. No ghost in was in sight, though she noted that Sparky had wandered several yards down an unexplored hallway, one which might still contain traps. Frustration and anger and confusion overran the entire group. It was just like being back home in the Bramblehall.

Smiler, on the other hand, was far from frustrated. His enemies were still huddled in the Gauntlet, his apprentices still waited ahead of them. All was well. Smiler drifted back into his hidden hall and closed the secret door. He would change his direction of attack. These traitorous gobs who defied the will of the Kingdom, and great lord Zag, would learn to regret their attack on this outpost.

Striegboirk followed the sexy gob back the way Striegboirk came from

Striegboirk took the opportunity to cop a feel. Never had Striegboirk seen such a sexy gobbie. Striegboirk incanted shamanic rhythyms and laid Striegboirk's semi-grubby hands upon the sexy gobbie lady. Striegboirk opted for touching her elbow, Striegboirk had a thing for sexy elbows

Striegboirk hollered, "Where is the gearghost?"

Gobs watched as Bubbisa hustled back the way they'd come to investigate the big clamor. Gobs was torn between racing after her to see the smack and checking out the new secret panels he'd noticed when he picked up the torch. Common sense failed, as usual in the case of goblins. Gobs carefully stepped around the Torch towards the eastern panel. He tried to pinpoint exactly where it was now that the glow outlining them had faded. The increasingly black-purple flames still burned along the ceiling and in the corners. The panels were well-hidden, though, and Gobs couldn't see the seams in the walls indicating a door, though he knew they were there. He had seen them. Hadn't he?

"Where ghost? Me chop good!" She looked around looking for whatever had spooked them.

Sparkskar harrumphed when it became clear that the ghearghost was not going to fall into his trap. The moments had passed by slowly and irritatingly, but no ghost came. The elementalist squinted through his frustration and stood up straight, the spear butt tapping on the ground as he pinched away the bit of sulfur from his fingers.

"Where is the gearghost?" Strieg called.

"I guess we move on then..."

Sparky grunted and spat on his way by the cleric. Another mushroom found its way into his mouth and he began the long walk towards Strieg and Gobs. He called back to the she-gob briefly before picking up speed.

"We've made enough noise. I think we should get sneaky and slaughter the baddies that lurk. Time to stick together again."
