    Maxavel

"We have more keys, right? And more keyholes? That Theophilus guy mentioned the keys as a way to open Fistandantilus' lair."
Max takes a moment to look over the discs for more info about Nuitari.

Rough eyes the corridor suspiciously. "What if they way we need to go is through one of these statues like the last one. Pick the right one and move forward, pick the wrong one..." he knows he is just voicing everyone else's' thoughts, but someone had to say it.

Let us see if the door open without the keys. And if you must think wisely before you choose.

Inside the ruins of 'Skullcap'; somewhere in the swampy plains south and east of 'Hopeful Vale' somewhere in the Kharolis Mountains south of Pax Tharkas, late morning of 15 Hiddumont (October), 351 AC

The adventurers take a moment to study their surroundings, some cautious about the statues, some trying to remember more about what they had read about the Gods on the Disks of Mishakal which were now back in the camp at the Hopeful Vale with Elistan; and then there was Gilthanas....

The Elven Fighter-Mage strode through the passageway, moving between the two statues when he felt a strange touch of....something....seem to pass over him like a breeze, and then it vanished and he continued to the closed double doors, which he found wouldn't budge a bit, no matter how hard he tried. He also noticed something didn't seem to feel quite right...but it took him a little while to figure out exactly what it was.....

Then it came to him and his eyes widened in alarm as he realized that his equipment suddenly felt lighter and sounded different and he quickly drew his enchanted sword out of its scabbard. He gasped in surprise and fear and anger as the metal blade was now much lighter and made out of wood! A quick check revealed that his Dagger and the heads of all of the arrows in his quiver had likewise been turned to wood....though his armor, wand, etc. were all normal....

Maxavel had closed her eyes and was doing her best to remember the teachings on the Disk to see if there was anything else about Nuitari that might occur to her, but other than she THINKS the God's parents were Tahkisis the Queen of Darkness and a God named Sargonnas, she wasn't sure....

Opening her eyes to Gilthanas' plight, she coughed and once again brought up the Keys that Thorn was carrying as possibly fitting in the key holes at the bottom of the Statues, like the one they used right outside this hallway and which had opened the Doors leading to here....

Vale watches Gilthanis' plight with concern, wary of anything that might be moving his way. "Yes," he responds to the cleric, "I think that you are right. We are meant to use the keys in the statues to gain entry."

Thorn quickly checks his own weapons to ensure none of them changed to wood. Then once done checking his weapons he takes the keys to the statues again trying them until one works but waiting first to have someone check for traps before sticking keys all willy nilly into keyholes. "Someone gonna check fer traps fore I go stickin keys randomly into keyholes, I aint gonna be happy if I get me arse zapped trying to open them damned doors with these keys."

Blinks at Gilthas's bit of bad luck and has the turn and face the door they just came from. He feels sorry for him... he really does... but the look on his face is the funniest thing he has ever seen, and he doesn't want to offend the poor lad as he wipes tears from his eyes stifling a real and true belly laugh!
