Ashtari skipped along merrily, having found her eyes and ears working again. It was a pleasant day so far with strange gold and silver rain. Though soaked to the bone she could find no reason to be unhappy. Life was certainly too much fun to lament, so she sung a song her daddy had taught her. It was a tune for wandering.

"Old Danillo Twill had a hundred bags o' gold,
And a dozen times more silver than he could ever hold,
But he lost it all at knucklebones, till he didn't have a crumb,
Still, there'll always be more where that came from."
There' always more where that came from,
So strike up the pipes and bang on the drum,
Now don't be cross, lads, and don't be glum,
'Cause there's always more where that came from.

Before a year was done, good old Dan was rich again,
Shipping mead, wine and grog out across the salty main,
Then all his ships went down with their holds all full o' rum,
Still, there'll always be more where that came from.
Old Dan built himself a mansion, with twenty-seven floors,
Four-and-sixty windows, and twice as many doors,
But it burned right down to the ground and he moved into the slum,
Still, there'll always be more where that came from.

Now some folk, they might say old Dan's luck is running black,
But no matter what he loses, one day soon he'll win it back,
'Cause all you need's a hoopak and a merry tune to hum,
And there'll always be more where that came from.
Kender Wandering Song from Bridges of Time pg 294

It seemed an appropriate song for her circumstances, however she did realize that she did not have a Hoopak to shake at that point of the song, so she simply pretended and moved forward, with her Sithak held high.

Some time later she spotted the whale in the distance and her interest was peaked. What was it doing out in the dirt? That's a really strange place for a whale to try to swim. How silly! She was already starting to skip that way to ask what in the world the whale was thinking when the Giant appeared.

"Oh my! There are so many BIG creatures out here!"

Her Sithak safely strapped to her back again, the Kender hopped and clapped her hands happily. This was quickly becoming one of the greatest days ever! The giant's tree club smashed the ground and caused her to hop again, though this time involuntarily. She let out a bit of a squeak then, but her mind went back to the whale. It probably needed their help.

"Hey you! Big giant man! Help me get the whale back to the sea. I think it got lost, or forgot that it can't swim in sand."

She waved to get its attention and then bolted to the whale, genuinely intent to help it survive.

"Hurry! If we move quickly we might be able to save it!"

    Ashtari

The giant watched its tree trunk pound into the mud. There was still silver and gold glitter all over it. He slammed it down three more times in rapid succession, as if trying to get the color off. Finally he dropped the tree trunk, staring at his open palms. He looked at them as they splashed with gold and silver rain, then over at a voice that was squealing in high-pitched tones at him. It was some gold and silver ant, waving. The giant saw the stranded whale as well, and stood staring for an utterly blank moment.

Finally, from Ashtari's vantage point, the giant appeared to be looking back at her again. Slowly, as if with a bad back, it leaned and picked up its sparkling wet tree trunk, and began slowly trudging in Ashtari's direction. There was a dark glower to his expression. She could feel every footfall shake the ground beneath her.

Dalamar just in case (depending on what happens over the next several posts), in your posts, post no more than a full round's worth of actions in them, starting now.
Whale 100 feet to the left; Giant 70 feet to the right, approaching.
The Red Condor shrieked at Sir Darvig in full wrath. Wings flapped storms of fire across the sky. "The Mage-God grows in power swifter than it appears to Paladine. This I know. A warning," Sargonnas told Darvigl, "for you to give to Paladine in your prayers."

    “I will,” Darvig uttered.

Ashtari ran with all speed towards the struggling whale. Her footfalls were rapid and light, as silent as would be expected of a proper Kender, and more so because of her great experience as a tomb raider and housebreaker (for purely academic reasons of course). Though she were seemingly the tiny fraction of the size of any one of the giant’s massive legs she covered the ground more quickly than one would have expected.

As she neared the whale she cut around it, looking to come to rest on the other side of the creature. She dug into the dirt with her heel and skidded to a stop, with the whale between her and the giant. Her hands on her hips, she waited for the giant to catch up so she could coordinate the rescue attempt.

      Spoiler: OOC

Full round action to run 120’ towards the whale. 4x movement and can only run for the round.

Looking to calculate the length of that huge club and position her close enough to the whale that a downward smash would not dip low enough to strike her, assuming the tree doesn’t just cut right through the whale.
