Kadrien had hated the lightsabeer training, but he had to admit he was making slight progress. The lightsaber just felt wrong somehow. He had trained all his life with a variety of weapons, but they all had weight to them. He always overcompensated, expecting a lightsaber to give just a little more resistance than it actually did. He was getting better though, especially in sparring. Deflecting blasters was another story. He wouldn't trust his life to it, but Master Yoda said it had to be practiced either way.

Keeping his eyes closed tight under the blindfold he did his best to focus, listening to the sound of the remote, trying to call every sense except sight to figure out where the attack was coming from. He felt a current in the Force, and without conscious thought he moved the blade to deflect the first bolt. His next two moves were sloppy though, and two more stings to his thigh and hip came near to enraging him. He ripped of the blindfold and reached out with the Force, flipping the switch that turned the remote off. He was about to argue again with Master Yoda about this training when he saw Tahla fall and heard again about the vision. It sent chills up his spine. Making his way over, Kadrien sat crosslegged in front of the wise but strange Jedi Master.

    OOC:
    Remote attack 1:(7)+3= 10; Deflect:(5) +5= 10. Deflected, barely!
    Attack 2:(15)+3=17; Deflect:(13) +5 -5= 13. Hit.
    Attack 3:(12) +3=15; Deflect:(5) +5 -10= 0. Hit.

    Default The Resurgence

The past three months had gone by slowly for Lykka. He had spent much of his free time cleaning and repairing the Second Chance, and had many of the damaged systems back in operation. But the instant one task was completed, another task presented itself. It seemed unending. His frustration level was also compounded by the fact that in the three months after taking over Darga’s operation, they had no more credits to show for their efforts. Sure, they had made contacts, established smuggling routes, and made certain that those beneath them knew who was in charge of the operation, but the twi’lek had seen the situation through rose colored glasses. He had dreams of rolling in cred sticks by now.

“We found ‘em, boss,” Raden said at the beginning of the meeting. “They are based out of the Cularin system. They’re running ops out of the cruiser. She’s mod’ed with turbolasers and a tractor beam, and eight fighters of course. We take him out, and Darga’s old cronies are good as gone!”

Lykka’s heart sunk at the mention of another possible space combat. He had just finished hammering out blaster scorch marks on the hull of the Chance from their last encounter, and had little desire to destroy his handywork so soon. But, such was the cost of doing crime. Or so he reasoned.

"What. Kind of? Firepower. Can we? Get. Our hands on? Taking on. A cruiser. And. A small fleet. With just. Our. Two ships. Sounds crazy. Even for us," ACE said flatly. "Ideas?" he asked his assembled criminal brain trust.

Lykka looked to Raden for a reply, hoping that he would reveal that the enemies resources were exaggerated to some extent, but fully prepared for the opposite. Two ships against a small fleet…he had a bad feeling about this.

Jak pressed a button to move his hologram piece on the board. He looked up at Lykka with a smirk.

    "Your move."
Looking down at the game board, Lykka knew he'd been beat.

    "Kark," he said, half-heartedly.

Alsia arched her back against the pilot chair, hoping for some measure of relief from the strain of spaceflight. She very much had a love hate relationship with her ship, she loved the sense of freedom that flying gave her but she hated being restrained. Mentally annoyed that the restraining straps were doing their job to perfection, she settled in and watched the timer click down and soon enough the white lines slowed and become pin pricks, resembling the stars that they were. And before her were the hulking forms of the beginnings of a rebel fleet.

"This is Major Shayle Whist'lya of the Resurgence. Please identify yourself, failure to do so will be met with harsh penalties."
Like clockwork the hail hit her comms just as she left hyperspace. She smiled quietly to herself; perhaps there was hope for this rebellion after all.

She cleared her parched throat before opening the comms, simultaneously uploading the encrypted flight clearance data to the command center. “This is Captain Verza of the Corellian Defense Force, uploading clearances now, we are all blue forces. Over.” She waited a moment both in time and space, throttling back the Objects in Space’s thrusters. She watched her panels satisfied that the rest of her convoy was doing the same, allowing the rebels’ scanners to do their work. “Request clearance to dock and unload supplies and new equipment...” She flipped off the comm and finished the thought, “we will need all the help we can get.”

ACE wheezed static. Lykka was terrible at this game. He almost felt bad for allowing the techs to add that little amenity to the crew lounge. Among the flurry of upgrades it had seemed inconsequential to the droid at the time. It was turning out to be an amusing investment. He concluded that, like Lykka, he needed a new strategy.

"Better yet. Why? Waste time. Hacking at. The body. Of. The snake. We should. Be Focused on. Removing the head," ACE pointed out. "We know. Where. They're. Operating from. How hard. Would. It be? To tap. Their comms. And. Figure out. When. Reddjak. Is either. Moving. On his own. Or. With. A raiding party. We can beat?"

    The Resurgence

Shayle heard the request but he made them wait. It was the fact that they were one ship off the number, it made him suspicious. Last thing he needs is to let an Imperial spy aboard. "Reopen hailing frequency, ensign." Shayle said still pacing the bridge.

"Captain Verza, Major Whist'lya. We have dockets stating there would be twelve ships, our sensors count thirteen. Explain." Shayle hadn't given clearance to dock just yet. He looked over at his watch crew. "Maintain yellow alert and tell the deck crew to prep fighters for launch." Shayle left the comm open purposefully so Captain Verza could hear his order.

Shayle continued to pace the deck, waiting for his answer. He hoped it was satisfactory, the last thing he wanted was a fight where lives were at stake.

Alsia listened silently as she was challenged. Sighing softly, she understood the need for precaution but she let her annoyance at the delay run wild in her mind. "So they are getting one more ship to the fleet, they should be grateful" she thought to herself.

Suppressing what she wanted to say, she had done a lot of suppressing since joining the Rangers, she flipped the comm switch to open comms with Major Whist'lya, Commander Krynn, and Major Destin, stating professionally, "Understood. Please check the the updated orders, we had a last minute change. I am surprised that you have not received them yet. Resending transmission now." She knew that the encryption key was known only to the ADF, that is if the Empire had not purloined them. She continued, "Commander Krynn, Major Destin, please send Major Whist'lya your updated authorizations as well."

    OOC: Krynn, nice

Both sets of authorization codes transferred and checked out. Alsia's Novasword fighter was the only new addition. It seemed the delivery of the jedi was not on the list. Alsia also noticed Organa's personal corvette was not currently with the fleet.

    The Resurgence

As the information came through and all checked out, Shayle still made them wait a few more minutes. He didn't like surprises and the addition of one extra ship was just that. Could he have overlooked it, yes, but then he wouldn't be doing his job and the Alliance was bigger than just one man.

After those few minutes passed, Shayle reopened the communications relay. "Captain Verza, all checks out proceed to Resurgence docks. I will have extra personnel on hand to help with unloading. Welcome to the fleet." Shayle turned and had the ensign end transmission. "Tell the deck chief to get a few extra hands to help the new arrivals and contact the Admiral to let him know they're here as well."

Shayle continued to pace the deck.

She waited, and waited, and waited. The minutes ticked by and Alsia was strangely comfortable. She had received various messages from the other fleet commanders about what to do and she recommended patience. She knew that they would get it in. And, in a matter of time, they received the all clear.

"Tell the deck chief to get a few extra hands to help the new arrivals and contact the Admiral to let him know they're here as well."
"Roget that." She replied. "Commander Krynn, it's been a pleasure. Major Destin have your pilots move into defensive position bravo around the Revenge until the Revenge has settled into fleet position."

Alsia joined the defensive position, being the last of the small fighters to dock.

"Well, we know their raiding routes. Can't we just use one of the ships as bait, and then when they come aboard, we beat them at their own game," Raden asked.
