The Dark Chronicles trilogy will return to the period of the original Dragonlance Chronicles and will feature some of the more popular heroes and villains from that era. The first book in The Dark Chronicles is currently planned for release in summer 2006.

Why call it the "dark chronicles" and not the "lost chronicles?"

I'm too excited to write much more write now lol

I wonder if it will be in Hardcopy. It better be! LOL

I can't wait to read more about Flint and Tanis. I wonder if they'll be able to really connect with the characters and really portray them as we remember them after being away from them for a while.

Perhaps because a number of the events that were cut from the original chronicles had quite a dark edge. Either that or dark could also mean in the same context of the dark age as it is period of the chronicle that was lost to knowledge of sorts.

Anyway, it sounds like a pretty interesting work for them. It'll be interesting to see how well all of this will mesh together. Not to mention the new characters to be introduced in the trilogy and the novella work in additional this series that will feature those characters.

I didn't realize there were 3 books worth of stuff cut or not really covered. I know there was the trip to Icewall that was not in there. What else?

The journey to Thorbardin and the retrieval of the Hammer of Kharas.
The journey to Icewall and the confrontation with the White Highlord.
The journey to Sanction and the discovery of the Draconian process.

Are just some that come to mind right now.
