Appearance: Dark bronzed skin, pale blue eyes and shoulder-length black hair give this attractive man an endearing appearance. Yet, the menace in his voice and the size of his greatsword accentuate Yas’s forceful demeanor. He wields that greatsword and wears his studded leather as if he were born with them, ready for combat and to spread his personal form of luck upon the battlefield.
Background: Yas is a traveler from the mountains of Northern Ergoth. While the rest of Ansalon has seen much change since the Second Cataclysm, his homeland has not. Tales of adventure and news from beyond the shores of Ergoth urged Yas to take up his sword and explore abroad. The risen Empire’s activities since the return of the Gods worries Yas, who sees similarities between Solamnia’s new behavior and Ergoth’s empire of old.
Yas does not easily speak of his family, or really much of his past. His family of two sisters and his parents remain within their mountain village though it has been many months since Yas has spoken with them. The eldest of the three children, it was Yas’s responsibility to help his father, protect his sisters and help the household. His interest in the local militia and adeptness with the sword quickly elevated his popularity, and respect, within the village.
The return of the Gods brought more questions than answers to Yas and his people. It was barely known the gods had left. Who was this Mina? Chaos and Takhisis and the Storm and the Dragon Overlords? Why was it now the end of the War of Souls and a positively viewed Age of Mortals? Every year brought Yas to question more of the outside world. Given the chance to travel, he left to explore and learn. He enjoyed the orderly manner of his life but cherishes his freedom. Thus, Yas remains a wanderer in foreign lands unfamiliar to him.
Possessions: Greatsword, backpack, rations, studded leather armor and a few other minor items.
