It keeps making references to Verminaard in here like he is alive after the refugee escape...How many prison breaks did he have before the Heroes, or is this just a slip-up?

Apparently it seems the author was given the modules to operate off for info instead of the novels. As you know the scenarios and deaths are not the same for the two.

Dragons of Autumn Twilight wasn't out when this book was written? I thought it had a publish date of 86 or so?

It was, but that does not always mean that the author is given a novel or even the manuscript for research. Information between authors and the editors can be rather fuzzy at times. Especially when editors are not familiar with the material.

It takes what, a couple months to read the core and secondary books? Personally if I get hired operate a cash register I would want to know how to use the machine.Originally Posted by Sephzero
Do you think they are getting paid to read books? They are mostly paid to check over basic structures of the books for the most part. Though I do not have exact knowledge for the situation, but it is likely possible that the editors are not even mutually exclusive to world genres instead taking care of a lion share of stuff.

Verminaard no doubt died when the Heroes of the Lance had their 'as yet undetailed' adventure where they recovered the Hammer of kharas.
Lol, well if you follow that train of thought (ie. modules vs novels), then Verminaard did not die at that point either. He rose again as the fallen cleric Sevil Draanim Rev after the search for the Hammer of Kharas.Originally Posted by Willowhugger

Here's what's real about Verminaard and STORMBLADE and AUTUMN TWILIGHT and gaming modules: the late '80s with TSR was a whole 'nother world from the early 21st C with Wizards. In many ways, it was a lot of fun -- in most ways. Dragonlance was being built from the ground up, modules and books. Cataloging or indexing weren't things anyone had the luxury of time for. From what I remember, I think everyone would have LOVED to have the time, but ... it didn't exist.
I'm not sure whether Mrgaret and Tracey would put it this way, but me, I've always thought of those days as the excellent early days of an excellent garage band that took off so fast you could hardly catch up.
Joshua or Nova probably have a discussion about the Verminaard thing in the archives. I bet you could get one of them to post the full url if you wanted to see it all hashed out.
For my part, I wrote honestly with what I had, when I had it. I hope conflicts don't spoil the story.

Just because someone gets stabbed 5 times with swords, doesnt mean he dies. Especially if he is a Favored of a God. I love Stormblade, it is my favorite non Core Dragonlance book. Its a great story, has good characters and even shows historical events from a different perspective. Sure the continuity isnt spot on, but big deal. For those of you who get all bent out of shape because of Verminaard being in the story, get a grip, Its not like Ms. Berberick said screw all of you, i want him in the book even though he's dead. And If I remember correctly, is he even in the book or is it just his name being mentioned?
