Skie is also known as Khellendros in Unsung Heroes. So yeah, quite a bit of history to that name. It'll be neat to see him in his prime again.

Very nice cover, especially the Soth pose. Very menacing, as if he's saying, "Plot? I am the plot!".

Sorry to disagree with the group, here, but I think this painting is lame. It's a continuation of the “stand and pose for the camera” ridiculousness which has for whatever reason gotten more frequent rather than less. I'd prefer an actual scene from the story, of which I suppose there are plenty of good ones. Are they actually standing on a cloud? Why is Skie trying to eat Lord Soth? And why isn't Kitiara being shocked by the dragonlance? Because she's wearing gloves? Also, she should either be scary wearing a dragonhelm, or sexy, and in Stawicki's art she is neither.

    Discuss.

Anyone know if the paperback will have the same cover art? That also applied to Dragons of the Dwarven depths.

Excusing some odd circumstances, the paperback releases use the same covert art as the hardcovers releases.

I think the name of his human form (the blue wizard) was an anagram for Khellendros as well.

Can't remember it off the top of my head though.

I like the image. Up until recently though, I noticed that Matt Stawicki tended to make his blue dragons more of a teal color.

And I don't have much of a problem with the 'pose for the camera' images. Sometimes you just want to get certain characters in there that just might not had been together in an interesting or non-convaluted shot.

By the way, is there a higher rez image anywhere around?

A malamanteau (plural malamanteaux) is a neologism for a portmanteau created by incorrectly combining a malapropism with a neologism. It is itself a portmanteau of malapropism and portmanteau. Example: Wikipedia was absoltively screwed when they correctly demoved the malamanteau entry from their website.

What an amazing cover! I like the colours and it really gets me impatient to read this book!

Honestly though, it annoys me. Because now I have to wait til October of 07 to hold that in my hands? :(

Really amazing cover though. Why is the cover out so much earlier than the book though?
Oct 07??? That's more than a year after the release of the last one...and then we have to wait probably another year for Amber & Blood, then another year for Hourglass Mage? dang...

    Perhaps we should clone Margaret.
