Alright so I’ve decided that my little forum break has gone on for far too long, in anyone’s opinion, and as a sort of “get back into it” sort of thing, a new thread may do some good.
As far as rules go:
- Absolutely NOOOO one liners. Notice how long that NOOOO is… One liners get you nowhere. If the posts must be that short to begin with, why bother even posting?
- Try to keep the OOC in the planning thread. Isn’t that what the planning thread is for? Yeah, thought so…
- No killing/harming/etc. anyone else’s characters in any way without their prior consent or knowledge.
- No godmodding… that’s my job ;) … jk
That’s pretty much it! This thread is basically on the serious/darker side, just because I haven’t quite done it before and want to experiment. If it’s okay with you all to include a one or two sentence description of your character that would be awesome so then I could know where they would fit in and stuff. Feel free to post any questions, comments, or OOC stuff… twists are always welcome! You don’t need any bios because I think they take away from the overall being of the character. Um, yay! Alright… Enjoy! :)
I'll be playing Merynn... What a surprise, right? :p For those of you who don't know who she is, she'll be a power hungry Highlord. Ultimately, losing Kemon (her love ;) ) has set her off the "deep end" and turned her very cold/evil/etc. Let's start with some general planning...
And so it begins...

Leumar Cordon is a tall, brown-haired and brown-bearded man with the air of a bardic traveler. His past is entirely unknown, and he keeps his secrets, dark as they are, well hidden.
Ah, Merynn, lass. This one you won't ever forget, long as ye live. ;)

I take it you have absolutely no intention on filling me in on this unknown past, hm? Just a guess...
So how do Leumar and Merynn meet? :p Any suggestions?

Well, I can say that in his heretofore unknown history, Leumar had an aptitude for literature and song, although it truly had nothing to do with his proffession. My avatar is actually quite close to what I imagined him as in a younger form. Currently he has the unnofficial occupation of bard--some other wandering one. He does wield a sword, so he could meet her through recruitment. I'll give you some extra background later on his past in PM, but tis time for me to take to the bed--for rest, I assure you :p . Out all day tomorrow, I'll be back late tomorrow night.

Zacharius Blackwood is a man of dubious history and heritage, currently residing in some woods in Neraka. He's on the run from an army after he murdered a Lord of the Rose. Merynn could stumble upon him while, I don't know, going for a walk...or something.
Ah, the excitement.

Kaiil of Oakenshard, a small peasent village in the hills of Solamnia, has been routed to the east after a failed attempt to raise a new militia of Browncoats to dethrown and murder a Solamnic Lord. A known anarchist and kinslayer, Kaiil find shelter increasingly difficult in the north. The young rebel has decidedly taken refuge in the cramped and jagged valleys of the Khalkist Mountains, the land of murderers and wild men.

So is everyone on the side of evil in this thread? I was hopeing to be the lawful good rival of Merynn kind of thing...
Zacharius

So far, I think. But I have a feeling Zach is going to be a bit of a twister. :)

Nope, far from it. Kaiil himself is actually neutral. While considered an 'anarchist,' he's much more of a reformist that takes revolutionary actions.

Leumar isn't evil...to an extent.
Merynn
05-21-2006, 08:16 AM
So who is on my side then? Besides Telana... who isn't really on my side anyway... lol.
By the way, thanks so much for coming everyone! I'm so happy you all came :D
I'm thinking maybe I could start with something going wrong at camp (possibly with Telana), then having Merynn come across Zach while storming around in the woods. That's really all I came up with so far... So any other ideas would be quite welcome... :)

I'm going to have Leumar accompany your evil darkness, Mer. :D I'll send you some history a bit later.

Excellent, just PM me the history whenever you find it convenient :p
Isn't evil darkness accompaniment great? ;)

Just to clear up some stuff, what time period (or exact year) are we going to be playing in? Should we all be meeting in/around Neraka? And, depending on the time period, should any of the characters have knowledge of the state the gods of Krynn are in?

i really dont wanna be the odd one out and be the only one inwardly against merynn... this is why i was tentative about picking telana, mel... :o
Merynn
05-21-2006, 12:28 PM
Yeah but that's what makes things interesting, which is why I wanted you to be her! I mean think about it, if everyone else is outwardly against her, then what fun is that, you know? If you really don't want to be her, just lemme know :)
And as for the time, I'm actually a little hesitant about that part. I was thinking sometime during, towards the end of the WotL. Yes, we all meet around Neraka, and yes the characters should have some knowledge of the gods. Sorry I didn't say anything about that earlier :p

Elinor Falirus is a cleric of Paladine who is very high in her order. She is generally quite calm and is very divoted to her god.
I hope thats good enough ^.^

Yeah, yeah... You're all a bunch of meanies! ;)
I'm thinking of starting my introduction to the actual thread now... but my problem is that I only know where three or so of the characters are starting. I need Pam's okay on Merynn and Telana having a small fight before Merynn leaves into the woods.
If you could tell me where you want to start/who you want to interact with and why, that would make it easier for me to try to work that in. We know evil Kim will be in Solamnia... stupid cleric. :p

Evil? I believe you have your alignments mixed up, Mel. ;)

Isn't it all about perspective anyway? I mean honestly now, you should know that... Anyway why does your character end up knowing me? :)

No.
Look at the time period, the Gods have just returned. Paladine has only a handful of clerics and, quite frankly, there is no order yet. Truly, I don't think your character could be anything higher than, perhaps, level five in Pen and Paper terms.
Petyr
05-22-2006, 02:19 PM
She could be very high in the order of people just returning. Among those, you could consider her strong. Think of Goldmoon. She become quite a skilled follower of Mishakal quite quickly. And Elistan, a cleric of Paladine, was very high very quickly.

Going by my sourcebooks, Goldmoon was about level twelve by the end of the original Chronicles, and that's a character fighting dragons, draconians, walrus-people, hobgoblins, gods of Krynn... You can see where I might be a tad hesitent. Still, if you can tone it down and give this Lawful Good priest a reason for being in an incestuous den of evil, then go for it. =D

I've got the oldest, most cliche reason in the book. :D For our God, we shall smite ye!
