View Full Version : Here's what happens when I get bored...

Well, since you guys refused to post anything new for me to read, I got bored. So, using this sites nice calendar feature, I figured out the average age of people on this board. Now, I did not include Sales Chick, because she said she was 1807. Now, other people may have lied about their age *cough*DDD*cough*, but oh well. I still did it. So, when people ask, "Whats the average age of Dragonlance readers?" I will be able to give them a shoddily made thing that I probably totally screwed up on! Note: Beardies221 does not take responsibility if this is totally wrong, cause he screwed it up at least three times, but ended up hoping three wrongs make a right. Now then, heres the number.
Ages:
25, 34, 30, 29, 12, 23, 23, 28, 13, 26, 15, 34, 25, 27, 19, 15, 19, 14, 22, 28, 24, 30, 28, 28, 26, 21, 22, 31, 24, 22, 24, 28, 32, 33, 15, 21, 17, 28, 19, 28, 28, 15, 14, 27, 25, 32, 28, 20, 26, 18, 22, 14, 28, 14, 17, 31, 28, 29, 26, 23, 35, 27, 33, 18, 16, 34, 20, 26, 25, 31,
All added up, this equals 1766. Now then, I had 70 numbers there (I think). So, doing a little averaging, we come to the grand number of: 25!!! So, there you go.
Now then, mods, we come to you. I don't care if you lock this, but don't delete it, because I'm not saving it anywhere and it took me long enough to put together. So, here you all go, enjoy???

You averaged ages when you could have created an FAQ, written an article for the Nexus, or reviewed a book? :D
Er, wait....I'm posting on a message board when I could have done the same?
Uh..... *whistles*

ou make me feel old... I'm above the average... and the 4th of 70!!!
Just to annoy: According to the board system, there are 207 registered users... it seems a LOT of people didn't type their birth date!

You call that bored work? Look at George Lucas, that dude has background stories for even the most worthless characters in that Star Wars world. I believe this is the real reason there were no new movies for over 15 years, not the technology being insufficent like he states. Figuring out the average age of everyone is just a George Lucas lunch break :)
p.s. Woo hoo finally im above average in something!

Hmm, ok now, let me try and answer as much of this as I can. Lets see, as for writing an article or a book review or something, well I just had a couple of bad experiences, so I am going to wait for something to call and say "Beeeeeardies, write me!" Now then, yea Josh, this was still more fun then doing my homework. A lot of people didn't seem to put their ages... I think most people put not to have their birthday displayed. And as for wrong ages, well I did it all for the year of 2004, because I couldn't do all of 2005... Hmm, I think I answered most of the questions/comments. Oh wait, DDD. I thought you said you were 13 last tiem I talked to you, and I thought you were younger then me. SUddenly, you aged 2 years? Ha, I think not! Ok, there we go :).

Hmm, if you look at the numbers 25 and 3 it all makes sense. 5 minus 2 is 3 and consequently 2 plus 3 is 5. In addition 2 plus 5 is 7, and 7 minus 3 is 4. 2 plus 2 is 4. There you go, it all makes sense now, right?..... Uhm, guess not. I'm probably not bored enough or I might just be terrible with numbers. Just wanted to come up with some kind of answer... :D

Here in NC you can get a permit at 15, but it doesn't really matter, because you have to have an adult ride in the car with you. Then 16 you can drive, but not after 9PM or before 6AM, and you can't have more than like 2 people in the car. Then, if you don't screw anything up, at 17 you get a full license.

Wo! That is not cool at all. Here we get our permits at 16 (must have adult in car at all times, can't drive between like 1am - 5am or something) and then we get our license after 6 months and can drive whenever and with whoever.

Thaaaank you Dark. I am relatively immature, but not on here as much... And I know how to use it in moderation. Take a dash of immaturity, and pinch of humor, and occasion slice of seriousness, and you havr yourselves a beardies. Or, when a mother and father beardies want to have a baby....weeeell. That ones for a different time :).
Hehe, I'm much more immature in person. Today for my class we had to do a myth prohject, so me and my best friend teamed up. We needed a visual representation, so we decided to do a play. A script was written by yours truly, and it turned out well enough. Lets just say I was accidentally hid on the head twice during it, one time when my friend pushed me for the play, I tripped backwards, and smacked my head on a book shelf. The other time happened to be when I went into our computer lab and screamed bloody murder. Then my friend 'discovered' my 'dead' body. Then, he shut the dorr on my head. Aww, good times.
Other stuff happened, for deatils PM me, because I'm soooo loooooonely.
(Not really, I've barely been on, but if you want a good laugh at my expense just ask.)

When they did the old one, there were a little over 2 hundred of us migrated from the old forums... now there's over two THOUSAND!
This brings up the question... does any of us have an attention span smaller than beardies? ;)

*Bows* As you wish, your majesty!
As of August 10th, 2005:
The average age of the user in this forum is 24 years of age.
The most common age is 25
The youngest user is 7 years of age.
The oldest.... is questionable. Top ages include two 104 year olds, a 97 year old, 67, and then several in the 50's.
Only 67.3% of the forum gave a year for Date of Birth...
Thus 32.7% of the forum didn't give a year for Date of Birth.
Fate knows how much of my life I've just wasted but its somewhere between 15-20 hours. Enjoy! ;)
This brings up the question... does any of us have an attention span smaller than beardies? Hehehehe... Who saw this coming? Not me, actually...
PS: If anyone wants the file I have all the ages on as evidence, just PM me ;)

My ten year old daughter jumped online yesterday on my PC, while I was on my Notebook...that's right 10 (she loves math), and she came up with these numbers in about an hour and a half...
She told me that, only counting posters that have posted within the past two months (to be a more recent equation), and have posted OVER 20 posts...the average age is 24.
For those that have posted within the past two months and have posted over 100 posts...the average age is 23.
For those that have posted within the past two months and have posted over 400...the average age is 23.
And for those who are WAY up there in posts, have posted within the past two months and have posted over 1000...the average age is 22!
Keep in mind that there were a LOT of posters that have not posted their age. Had they, I believe that these numbers might be a little different.
This brings up the question... does any of us have an attention span smaller than beardies? ;)
Well apparently its not just you guys Kendercommander (I thought it would be you, I knew you couldn't resist :D ) and Beardies...haha..Sothlord, your daughter did excellent work! 10 yrs old and loves math..Bless her..thats awesome!

Wow that's awesome! Good to see math has a place in our generation... Now I have an heir!
Don't be too frightened Sothlord, that's mostly the sleep deprivity talking ;)
Well, I'm not sure how she did that... I simply went into every profile alphabetically, looked at age, and then typed every one who had even bothered to put a D.O.B. into its own cell. Wasn't doing anything yesterday anyways... ;)

She used an algorithm pattern on my PC, (I use it for my work)...simple cut and paste, the PC sorted the numbers and dates...basically she did not do a whole lot, except tell me the results...course, there is the fact that she is not supposed to know the password into my algorithm program...so there is that bit of work...the little hacker!!!

Well, of all things to use hacking skills to get into.... I think your daughter's found the best one!
Still doesn't change that she cheated... ;)

Yeah, but that +1 WIS comes with a -1STR, CON & DEX! Wow! I learned that in my tragically short time as a D&D bard! :D
OH, GOD I can't be the oldest one here! Oh, don't worry! There are 31 people older than you, two of which are authors! :)
(Yah, I have lots of pointless info about ages of members now... :D)
OH, GOD I can't be the oldest one here! :(
Bah! Age is merely a number and I feel has no reflection upon the youngness of the Mind, Heart and Spirit! old, nah who's to define old anyway! Trust me Fireangel seems you have plenty of spunk and spirit. I am 24 and one of my mostest favorite places in the mall is the toy store. :D *shrugs* what can I say...
Isn't funny how even after Beardies has been absent for awhile that this thread is still sparking some life. Just an obsevation..:D

Well..there could be a lot more Fireangel...we just don't know...there was a LOT of people who had N/A by that part of information, or just the month and day AND, when my daughter came up with the results, she went only by recent posters, over twenty posts, and didn't include Authors as they are not always here...so who knows what the results might be if EVERYONE posted their actual date of birth.
