Into Glory Ride

The leaves were just begining to brown summer was drawing to a close the sky was still bright. no rain clouds on the horizion. and so the sun beamed down and those it hit shone back just as brightly.

fifteen knights asembled on the green parsture in a line abreast formation flanked by fifteen squires men at arms and some forty menat arms some mounted but most on foot. the array of goblins lined up or more so mobbed up about two hundred meters ahead of them. the ragged troops had spears and clubs and all manour of weapons most crudly made. there must have been almost a hundred out there maybe more. the mob had marched from the mountains they had hid in after the war of the lance. Longblade keep was were they stoped the tower that guarded these lands was looming over the villiage of Cruss the goblins had destroyed almost five towns now and there moral was high enoth to try for something larger.

Titus knight of the sword looked at the horde he had wanted to charge but the goblins would surely mob the knights as they out run the foot men. but honour came from fighting on horse back. he turned to his closest friend they nodded to each other they had a plan and so changed formation the knights splite up to have a few paces betwen them. it was true that the power of acharge came from mounted men knee to knee but the plan was differnt. the infentry packed betwen the cavalry and started to adavance. the line became a block and they crossed the field the goblin horde over laped the line which was very dangerous as they began to flank the knights. then the formation halted only 70 meters from the aproching line the arrows lossed a few men at arms has crossbow they had formed the front line and wore a hole in the goblins to the derect front then steped aside as the knights squires and few mountained men at arms charged straight into the thin line ahead. they clashed so hard they ripped the goblins apart trampling them. the block of infentry formed a circle around the cross bow armed men as the goblins clashed into them the cavalry had pushed clean out the other side and started to presue the goblin threat but turned and rode into the back of the goblin forces engading the men at arms. it was a risky plan but the men at arms held firm and they had be well drilled. the goblins fled the feild there leaders head hung from Titus' fathers battlement.

a feast of honour was held that knight to honour the glorius dead and the great victory.

the hall of longblade was warmly lite. fires fed by servent blazed well as the tables filled with men and women drank to victory. the head table was filled with the longblade house hold and the guests of honour they laughted as a danceing bear preformed for the audiance. above the head table hung the kingfisher banner as around the hall hung shield hanners desplaying heros and monsters.

the dancing bear was removed and a group of singers came in to do a lement to the goldern general who onley a year befor the longblade had served.

Titus felt empty that his brother was absent but he had his friend here he turned to the knight next to him "to the glories dead my friend" he lifted his glass full of rich mead

Proping herself up against the bar she reached across to lighty shake the innkeeper awake " Who , what " he yelped startled and then seeing Illeria with bleary eyes quickly smiled at her " Sorry about that lass, slow night." Illeria scanned the empty common room " So I see, is that not unusual? or this town always so quiet?" she asked nodding when the innkeeper hefted a mug of ale. Placing the ale in front of the half-elf the innkeeper got comfortable " Naw, it's just the victory party up at the castle, everyone is celebrating with the knights. They arrived home only yestermorn after batteling dark foes." Illeria listened attentively to the man as he rambled on about the heroic deeds of the knights nodding and making the appropriate comments, just as she was begginning to think he would talk untill morning he asked her a question " Pardon me sir? I did not hear you." " I asked where are you from" the innkeeper repeated. Illeria smiled " Oh I don't think you would have heard of it, just a small little town south of here" Illeria replyed evasivly " Accually maybe you could assist me, I am looking for someone, my friend Sara, the last I heard of her she was headed in this direction." Illeria gave the innkeeper Sara's description as she had given it to numerous innkeepers and tavern owners along the trail. " Now I don't know" said the innkeeper " Kinda sounds like a girl who was in here sometime ago, she asked a few questions about the lord knight and then left, haven't seen her before or since. You may want to inquire at the castle." he said helpfully. Illeria smiled and placed a few steel pieces on the bar " I shall do that. My thanks." Exiting the inn Illeria walked over to where she had left her mount, stroking the blacks nose Illeria gave a small laugh " We are close Storm, on the morrow we shall have her and then collect the reward." Swinging her leg up she mounted the large stallion and headed towards the castle.

Helena cannot beleive it. The same servant who recked her new dress has the gol to barg into her private room exposing her, half dresses, to anyone who may be passing by. "Why is it that they never install locks on guests rooms doors?"
Helena finishes getting dressed and turns to the woman. "what makes you think I would know you? I don't...."she pauses and looks closer at the woman. thoughs eyes, the smile, could it be? No... or could it? "Sara?"

If he did that to another Knight that knight will be offended by the cleric rudeness but unlike most knights he was different. Long ego he remmebers stories his father had when he was a knight. Stories that always made him beleve that he'll become a great knight. That dream was already faded.
Sara she seems worried about something maybe I should try to find her
He started to walk where Sara was headed.
I have a feeling that there something more to her than meets the eye.

The horse finally stopped and ‘somehow’ dipped its head in salute. Feraest dismounted, sort of wondering why the heck he had even decided to ride out here. But everyone in the other place was so…cold-feeling.

But he vaguely remembered someone talking to him. Feraest swore inwardly, knowing he forgot his manners. The woman seemed to eye him warily. No duh he’d eye himself warily too.

Back in the hall keep Titus had re taken his seat and looked at the audence he was not as happy as he might like to be this day when suddnly the hall doors opened and in came a robed figure. the new comer stood as if he was the next act only he diidnt have a proformance as such instead he showed a vision as he stared into the very souls of the odance.

it was a cold place the very cliffs were made of ice and it seemed the fortress was also. a dragon sawed the black clouded skys its grace un matched its speed un mistakable for it was a great white. it guarded a treasure well many treasures but one which all most struck Titus dead it was lance a dragonlance at that but something about it said it was much more it was atop a pile of armoured dead. at a closer inspection they were knights of the rose 6 of them well they were knights of the rose their armour was as shining as the day it was made it gleamed amoung the treasure itself each skeliton knight held a lance but the one they all reached for seemed more significant. ice wall was where this treasure was and now every on in the hall had seen this titus was sure not all had an idea what this was about but he could hear the murmours from other knights saying it was humas lance. then he saw what struck terror into his heart a new knight was entering the chamber his very brother the only knight he had ever known to wear a wolf skin pelt he was a huge man a big warrior carrying only an axe how could he suckseed where others had failed with a dragon lance.

the vision left but the figure was gone also he could here mumers and oaths. titus stood up i will be leaveing in the morrow he stormed out of the hall his squire hurrying after him to his room.

Titus was armed he had his full traverling armour on and his squire had the belongings bundled up for the esorts to take. titus herd Philandus and new he thought ill of magic but it was only a little bit.
Titus burst back through the door straight into the two ladies and Philandus. " ready your self brother there is no time to waste the ship leaves when i wish" he said consered that Philandus wasnt ready to travel. then he finnaly regestered the females "im not sure why you two are at my door but i havent the time to ask" he quickly made his way past the other and back to the hall.

Titus had now the greatest advantage of any lord on krynn and it was due to his alliance with the mage Lolac the ingenous man had the fastest ship in the world well not really it could just appear at its destanation as long as it was water and he allowed Titus to use this in retrn for santuary. now it would prove it worth. the ship was strange to look at as it had no real sails and most passed it of as a gnome invention sitting in the harbour but still it could fitt around 10 able bodied men.

Titus enetered the hall to see it almost empty as people had eather contued drink retired for the night or were prepareing for titus' departure.

Titus was watching the loading of gear onto the contraption he had desided to only take two knights Sir Philandus and the young Sir Altamaru. others were left to contue their duties. "Sir Philandus i need you to make sure this boat is ready by dawn. Sir Altamaru you are incharge of recruiting i would like to chose some adventures personly but i have other matters to attend to. chose as many as can be loaded and dismise the rest" he ordered as he left to make sure that the Keeps matters would be properly atteneded to in his absance.

Philandus nodded and looked worriedly at the boat, it stank of magic, he slowly placed his foot on the boat, to check that nothing would happen, he then placed his whole body on the boat. Philandus hated magic, it was due to his upbringing in a time when magic was frowned upon.
Philandus looked in the hold and found supplies, and weapons already in there, it must be some kind of magical thing again, he thought.
Philandus walked up on top and sat by the ship waiting for this damnable thing to start. Not waiting on the ship just incase something happend.

Illeria watched as one of the knights left, looking a little harried and Altamaru turned back towards the castle. Catching up to the hurried knight Illeria dismounted and smiled " Excuse me Sir Knight, but I could not help but notice that you seem troubled, is there anything I may do for you?" She determined that she would get herself invited along with the party no matter what she had to do.

She puts a belt on the carries her tools, and on it hands her long sword. She then hides some knives into her boots and some smaller ones into some of the pockets. She then throws a cloak over herself, and then puts up her hair to keep it out of her face. She turns to her cousin "Well I'm ready, what do you think?"

the ship bobed up and down in the water but it really wasnt water it was a black substance. black the same colour as the sky there were no stars for this plane was dark indeed. the only light was those on the magical contraption of the rengade mage. Titus stood on the bow there was no wind at all he couldnt see any thing ether so he hoped the mage new the way. the ship was full of the people how had joined the adventure he wasnt sure who had come he hadnt the time to see and now his mind was else where with his brother in the cold regions of ice wall.

Philandus hated magic and soon stood behind Titus, it was the only placehe felt safe. Philandus looked around and suddenly the blackness had gone an dhe could see the ice caps of Ice reach, and the seals that swam their waters.

Altamaru did mange to find some more people willing to go with them. In fact he was wondering if he found and made the right choices.
Afterthat he just stared deeply into the darkness as the ship made its way waiting to end.

Travel by ship had always brought her great fortune in the past and she hoped that her luck had not changed.
Standing up to stretch her legs, Helena looked out the port hole. Although most of the others aboard felt uneasy about this magic (as was a custume amung knights), Helena felt herself being compelled to look into the darkness inwitch they sailed. "Sara, I think I will go top side. will you join me?"

Sara was laying on her bed, feeling a slight bit dizzy since they started. She had forgotten till now how much she hated ships magic or other wise. Even the stupid little row boats her and her cousin took out on the water, made her feel like this. They made her feel sick, and that means her guard isn't as up as she would like. She sits up looking at her cousin with a hand to her head "Perhaps, getting out of this cabin might make me feel better. Besides, I cannot worry about that bounty hunter right now she is as trapped on here as I am right now. And I have one this she doesn't have, a knight that will rescue me." She stands starting to head to the door, grabbing on to stuff along the way to keep her up.

what was the yelling on his ship Titus was trasixed on the real world appearing befor him materaliseing out of the darkness. he saw ice caps and the sea turned into real watter the sky started to brighten they were almost fully back in the real world. and closer to his brother.

Sara on the other hand was also at the rail on the other side, unfortunatally she was also losing her last meal over it so the sight wasn't as enchanting as it was for the others. Once she is done she sits on the floor her back to the wall miserable, mumbling to herself "Stupid boat, stupid bounty hunter. Can this trip get any worse?"

Illeria stood at the bow of the ship enjoying the feel of the cool air on her skin and smiled at the sight of the iceburgs and snow capped mountains. She sighed to herself, should she give up being a bounty hunter and take to the sea as she sometimes wanted to do? Thinking a moment, she looked over at Sara then she grinned, Nah she liked the pay recieved when turning someone over to paying customers to much to give it up.

Titus stared as ice chunks began to apear in the water if they couldnt find a safe landing place the ship might get sunk. the ship seemed to be stering towards a ice shelf hopefull it did not have under water ice barbs to smash the ship apart as they tryed to disimbark. as the ship drew nere he braced him self incase of the hidden impact but when it didnt come he prepared to leap of the rail onto the shelf. with luck it would seem he made the snow covered ice the tie down rope in his hand he drove a stake into the ice and tied the boat for un loading.

Philandus saw Titus dock the ship and he hastily jumped off the magical boat for safe sturdy unmagical land, he was however too hasty and landed on a bit of black ice, he kept his balance but still slid along the ice and hit a snow bank, a pile of snow landed on him and he looked like a snowman. She then realizes that she is feeling a little better, not sure if it was his distraction to because the boat wasn't moving anymore. Either way she was happy for his distraction though. Helena looked out across the frozed tundra. She had never seen anything like it. "Look at this place. Isn't it beautiful? I think it is time to go ashore dear cousin."

Illeria came up behind Sara and Helena silently " Yes ladies, why don't we all go ashore now." Illerai had the pleasure of seeing them jump a little not realizing she was behind them and grinned. Pulling the folds of her heavy cloak around her she stepped in between the two girls and linked arms with each of them " Shall we?"

Helena pulls her arm out of the bounty hunters grip. And pushes past her to follow Sara.
the two women make their way off the ship and towards the knights.

Philandus walked up to Titus, "Do you know where we are going, Titus?" He said now shivering from snow that had gone down his back.

Illeria smiled to herself " Well well, so the cat shows her claws does she." and walked down the gangplank to follow behind the others. Illeria looked around at the splendor of Icewall, she had never been here before and she was enjoying the new sights to be had however it was never far from her mind the reason they were here.

Philandus looked up he didn't like heights either it took him agees to get use to a horse. He made his way up always looking at the back of Titus so he wouldn't look down.

Altamaru followed them within the back ranks keeping an eye for any hostle people striking them from behind. Caution is one of the best weapons to use. He followed them up the glacer looking down enjoying the view on how high they were.

The snow crunched beneath their boots and it would have been quit loud if it had not been for the howling wind. The wind whipped Helena's black hair about her and the cold air bit at her checks and she was loving every minute of it. She watched the inland horizon as the group walked along the ice field.

Sara turns back every so often as she walks, to catch a look at Altamaru. On her last look she sees him talking with Illeria, a muscle tightened in her stomach she thinks to herself How dare she, does she have to interfear in everything in my life?

She then sees Illeria walking away from him toward her, she turns quickly away. With a sigh she excuses herself from her cousins side and walks ahead to find Sir Philandus. Upon finding him she takes his arm in her own "Are you feeling ok, you don't look so good?"

If looks could kill the young knight would have been fatally wounded. Then as quickly as it came, her hot gaze cooled and rational thought returned. A grin turned up her lips as she mentally scolded herself for allowing the man to get to her, she knew better than to let her emotions get out of hand. Breathing deeply Illeria calmed down and looked ahead, she was ready to find shelter out of the elements now.

"Something is not right here...." he said to himself as he hustle on over to Sir Philandus.
