After his parents died, the elves around his shunned him and, in an effort to keep peace, Jolin went into self banishment. After wandering around he heard a voice, when he reached it he felt a godly presence, it was Kiri-Jolith, and he helped the young elf train in the ways of justice, years later, when his training was done he returned to his home only to find the elves hadn't changed, they still shunned him. He left and swore never to return again.

Steph's character
Name – Rosia Marlinesklisus
Sex – Female
Age – 65
Race – Elf
Class – A ranger of Habbukuk
Weapon – prefer to use two shortswords both she use in battle, she’s feels more comfortable with two than using one, just the feel of both of them balancing out with her jerky and peppy attitude. Plus with the fact that she could deal out double blows, if need be, easily than with one.
Appearance – Rosia has a roundish, heart-shaped face with lightly tanned skin, her hair is long and dark brown with a few brownish-gold highlights put into braids, it’s all put into a ponytail. She does not have the most fancy or lavished clothing since she doesn’t even like wearing dresses. For easier travel through her woodland homes, she considers wearing baggy brownish-black pants that are tucked into her black boots, a leather jacket to match with long sleeves and is cut short above her midsection is over a light blue shirt with no sleeves.
Personality – Fiery and passionate with her work; the girl can’t stand to stand still, unlike other elves who are able to say that time is of plenty, Rosia does look among the sun and see that it sets and that even the stars move within the skies at night – just slowly. Although easily irritated and easy to get sidetrack by just staring among the flowers and the grass, beyond her recklessness, she is loyal and respectful towards others – mainly to those that she likes.
Other Info – Ever since she could remember, Soardash her hippogriff has always been by her side, the female beast may not seem like it with her gentle and moderate attitude but if anything were to happen towards the young elf then the animal would turn into a fiery, roaring brute ready to slaughter anything at sight.

Riphec Cheranon's char:
Name- Dorian Melphek
Race- Human (male)
Age- 23
Class- Bard
Profession- Historian (currently working on a “dissertation” of Krynn, in which he interviews candidates of various races, as well as recording great historical events, in his own, very particular way)
Appearance- Dorian is a man of average height, with sandy brown hair, flecked with natural gold highlights, and eyes of a light, spring green. He looks to be always amused, a bright, refreshing smile on his face most of the time. Attractive enough, his real sense of charisma comes not from his looks, but from his force of personality. People seem to have very mixed reactions about Dorian- they either really enjoy his company, or utterly cannot stand his personality.
Accoutrements- Dorian is, to put it nicely, extremely foppish. While he does not have the steel to afford the most “chic” styles of clothing, Dorian nevertheless spends what he has on the most stylish outfits…from the last fashion cycle. Thus, he would have looked remarkably dashing were the time period correct for his choice of clothing, but instead seems to give off an air of silliness. He is never without some hat of a most ridiculous nature, often with plumes that are too long to be polite- he often tickles people’s faces when he turns around, given their unnaturally long length. Hs shirts are always frilly, blooming out around the wrists and are usually of some garishly bright color- bright enough to match his personality, to be sure.
Personality- Silly, naïve, and remarkably personable, Dorian, when not judged to be extremely annoying, is usually found to be endearing. He genuinely cares about his fellow man, though this sometimes fails to come across, instead being lost in the string of “Fantastic”s and “Fabulous”s that he tends to toss about frequently in conversation. In short, Dorian thinks he is the best at everything he does, which is most often not the case, but he tends to pull it off well, coming across as “cute” rather than “snobbish” or “pretentious”
Weapons- Dorian, sadly, is not meant to join combat under any means, though he himself is unaware of such a fact. He uses a rapier and a main gauche well enough, but often feels like combat is not “flashy” enough. Thus, he sometimes spends his free time coming up with new and exciting attacks, such as the Crab Pincer (where he kneels down, hiding under his cloak to randomly poke out with his blades at those whom are foolish enough to accidentally come within range).
Other skills- Being a historian, Dorian is chock-full of rare and obscure knowledge, making him more than useful in a challenge that involves to evocation of said knowledge. He also studied under a healer, and thinks of himself a prized and extremely well versed doctor. While this might, indeed, be a gross exaggeration, he does know enough to be able to at least prolong, if not save, the lives of his wounded companions. His “noble” background has given him a propensity for situations of a diplomatic nature, and being quite glib with his tongue, he is often able to talk his way out of tense situations.
Background- Dorian was born into a small, middle class family. While not wanting for anything, the life of said family was far from luxurious. His father was a confectioner, and did fairly well for himself working out of a booth in the local marketplace. His father hoped that Dorian would continue the family business, but instead Dorian found, at an early age, the joy that comes from reading. Voraciously reading everything on which he could get his hands, Dorian’s vivid imagination made it seem as it he himself were the principle character in each book. Sadly, he became particularly enamored with the stories of the noble and royal variety, and when he left home at the age of 19, he completely reconstructed his history such that he was the crown prince of a kingdom that never really existed (Jaedaxia), and after so many times recounting this tale, Dorian himself has come to believe it. Thus, his pauper life has been replaced with that of a spoon-fed prince, though to those who are familiar with the royal lifestyle and history, he comes off as having something “amiss” (and rightly so). He recently left the man with whom he is romantically involved a few towns back, but most of the sonnets and other poetry he writes from time to time is dedicated to "Valerian," an elven man with whom he spent a little more than a year on the road, travelling and building a healthy, romantic relationship.

and the time is just before the war of the lance.

---------------------------------------0------------------------------------------

again...Marcus had heard those voices again. he got up and sat in the darkness. it had been only two days since he left his house. he smiled when he remembered his little children. the image of them waving hands after him was still on Marcus's eyes.

he remembered those voices again. they were telling him to kill somebody, but who? every night in his dream he heard those voices.

the day was about to begin. he heard other customers of the inn talking outside his room. he stood up, wore his armor and took his other few possessions. then he went downstairs. he sat, and ordered some food for breakfast.

Jolin walked through the door and stood for a second, allowing him to fully sense the smell, "Well this should be interesting," He said as he heard the armor of a knight. Jolin moved dexteriously to the table, "Hello sir knight, is this seat taken?" He put his hands on the seat across from the knight and waited for a response.

Marcus greeted the man. "Good Morning, sir. it isnt taken, you may sit here and join me in my breakfast." it was good to have somebody near you that you can talk. "i am Marcus Blacksword."

*Enter the Vincent*

The Knight of the Rose entered the inn, as he did every day, and immediately went to sit with Marcus, as he did every day, caring not for the elf who was requesting a seat. Vincent did, however, motion that Jolin could sit, by all means. Marcus wouldn't have a problem...well, he might, but Vincent had long before given up trying to figure out the man's personality.

"So how are you feeling this morning, dear Marcus?"

Archangel21

Jolin sat silently and listened to the conversation between the two men, it was one lesson he had learned from being blind, sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and just listen to others

"not so fine, Vincent." Marcus replied with a low voice. "i saw one of those dreams again." he raied his eyes to meet with Vincent's. "i wish they were more clear to understand.in each one, voices want me to do something, but nothing more than this." he glanced at the ther man sitting near them. "and after those voices, there is an image of somewhere i dont know."

Marcus met Vincent in this inn some time ago, and he knew he could trust him not to laugh at what Marcus told.

Sagren stood outside the door looking down at the glistening handle. He had felt a surge of emptiness somehow as he walked up the stairs. He couldn't place where it came from but he knew that it was someone inside. "Majere please help my empathic powers flourish to find the poor man or woman who feels such pain", Sagren murmered aloud bowing his head. He finally got up the courage to turn the door knob and saw in the corner 2 knights and an elf, he couldn't tell if he was silvanesti or qualinesti. Sagren moved towards the table feeling the emptiness and pain surging through him even more. He stopped halfway to the table grabbing ahold of a chair to keep from falling. Sagren composed himself again silently meditating to help calm the strain on his body, he was almost at the table. His currently bowed head shot up his eyes sending a peircing look to where these emotions were coming from. "Hello there Knight of Sword", Sagren said cooly.

"greetings sir. im Marcus Blackword and he's sir Vincent Geirlon" Marcus replied, and showed him a chair if he wants to join them. Marcus watched that odd-looking man and his weird symbols on his head. he noticed that he was a follower of light, and felt respect. then he remembered that neither that newcomer nor the other man had said their names.
Marcus glanced at Vincent with a we-may-talk-later look and turned to the two strangers.

ooc: i changed my character's class to a knight of sword.

Sagren sat down elegantly, well as elegently as a man can sit down, and placed his bag of coins on the table. He looked at the half full sack and played with the strings enclosing his coins. He looked up at the knight with watery eyes, he still felt the emptiness and pain. "Hello Marcus, my name is Sagren Cuporta, I am a cleric of Majere, pleased to meet you", he said his eyes telling the man otherwise. He waited for a barmaid to come over, very patiently. Sagren looked around the table trying to tap into the other two men's feelings but his empathic ability was being overwhelmed with that of Marcus'. He sat at the table bowing his head as he prayed to Majere, to help with the pain, as he let a single tear drip onto the table.

"Cleric," Jolin moved his sightless eyes towards Sagren, "I would appriate it if you don't read my thoughts, I like them to be mine and mine alone" He smiled innocently and turned back to the knights, "Oh yes, excuse my rudeness, I am Jolin, in honor of the god who showed me how to see through the darkness." He held out his hand, "I am what you'd call a monk."

Vincent nodded in a silent reply to Marcus's look, then shook Jolin's hand.

"Vincent Geirlon, Knight of the Rose. A monk, say you? I haven't seen a monk since I was sixteen...quite some time ago. Anyways..." he said, casting a wary glance at the cleric. "I understand why you might find it good and just to aid people based on their feelings, but I will say this once. If you enter my mind to read my thoughts, my emotions, the slightest twingy feeling I get that tells me what you're up to and I can promise you won't walk. Ever again." Vincent flashed a hard smile, excused himself for a moment, and then came back with four mugs of cold ale. "Nothing like it to wake you up in the morning."

Marcus's busy mind understood what Jolin meant at the end. as a knight of sword, Marcus was a follower of Kiri-Jolith, too, and he felt a symphaty to the monk. "i wish Kiri-Jolith could help me to find out the meaning of my weird dreams." he said.

Sagren clenched his hands hardly, looking up at both men, his eyes calm and cool. " I am sorry but I am not reading your thoughts, I can only feel what people feel", he said looking upon their idiocy."I do not have control of my empathic abilities so forgive me but I feel your every feelings, especially yours Marcus", he said letting his eyes show his pain. He stood up a little annoyed, he needed to meditate to calm down his feelings. "Excuse me please", he said leaving the group and going over to a clerk to check into a room. He got his key and looked at the three companions, with annoyance. Ignorance is no reason for me to be annoyed, he thought trying to calm down as he entered his room on the secound floor first door.

Vincent sat, eyes following the cleric as he left, mouth slightly open. Then he chuckled.

"These boys need to learn when a man's joking. By Kiri-Jolith. They take everything so seriously these days. I guess I'm just not good with jokes.." he mumbled, scratching his beard. He took a long sip of his ale, then looked at Jolin. "So how long have you been a monk, Jolin?"

Archangel21
01-29-2006, 03:22 PM
"Only around a year," Jolin answered ignoring Sagren, "I have been blind all my life and was banished from home, around a year ago Kiri-Jolith found me and trained me," He shook his head as the memories came back, "Sadly though, very few people beleive me, with the gods 'gone' and all," He began to sip on the wine he had ordered earlier, "Might I ask what you were talking about?" He turned his head to Marcus.

"we were talking about my dreams.." Marcus replied Jolin. "every night, they are the same. voices.. the same voices. then the same image. voices want somebody dead, i understand, but whom, why, how.... i dont know. " he looked confused, "i thought maybe Kiri-Jolith could help me.."

His voice lowered even more, becoming more sincere, "Tell me about the dreams, Karu is right, I may not be your god, but I'm sure I can help some."

Marcus trusted this man and began telling "every dream begins with light covering me. i cant see anything, cant hear anything. then, i find myself going through a road -a road that i havent seen before- and through the road, i began hearing some voices. those voices are so strong that i can almost feel the words pulsate in my heart. they always say the same thing. he mustnt live any longer. he is a great danger for us. i dont know who are those "us" here. after those words, the road gets darker. to walk in the road gets more difficult. but at the end, there is an image of somewhere very beautiful, again somewhere i havent seen before." Marcus stopped and took a deep breath. "so, what should i do?"

"Death," Jolin whispered, so low no one could hear him, than he looked up at Marcus, "Someone is hunting you.....and....if you can't stop them, they'll kill you," He said sympathetically, he knew, to himself it was probably a lie, he knew that Marcus had almost no chance to survive, but he felt he had to give this man some hope. "Since you felt bound enough to tell me of this, I will help you fight these things, I will do everything I can to help you survive." He didn't feel good inside about this lie, but he had learned from Kiri-Jolith there was always hope for the honor-bound, and hopefully this was one situation he could reverse.

How do you know that he can do anything to help? You've always trusted so easily." Vincent shook his head. "I wish only your safety, Marcus. But that does not entail you placing your life in the hands of someone's visions. If someone is after you, then we'll put you in a guarded room. "then what do you expect me to do? just find a safe place and wait? no.." the worst thing was that Vincent was right actually. Marcus shook his head not knowing what to say or what to do, waiting Vincent to reply.

time..you know the importance of time,Marcus, dont you? Marcus startled and looked around. dont just stop and wait. everything is in your hands.

Vincent was a steadfast believer of Kiri-Jolith, but his questioning mind often overthank things like this and belied his faith in his god.

Vincent sighed. Putting a weathered hand on his friend's shoulder, he said with a soft smile, "It's up to you what will be done. Since there's obviously nothing I can do to ensure that you'll listen to me--as usual," he added with a chuckle,"--then know that I will aid you to the end, Marcus. He laughed at his joke and shook his head, "You do realize knight, that since I am blind and elven you'd have to walk a long way to get out of my earreach." Jolin stood and moved his head back to Marcus, "Go to sleep tonight....wear no armor, have your sword far from you, I will keep watch over you, when they strike I will be ready." With that said he moved quickly to the innkeep and bought a room and began to move up the stairs.

there seemed a river at the end of the path Marcus was following, among the darkness covering him....

Rosia tried to walk through the common room as quiet as can be but the floors seemed to creak beneath her footsteps, after noticing that everyone must have been sleeping in their rooms she knew that she must keep quiet. But she was stopped by one of the staff of the inn who was suspicious on what she was doing up this late at night. The maid carried a lamp as she shined the light on the girl. She turned around to face the maid and sheepishly rubbed her head, all the while the creature standing next to her side tilted a head.

"No animals in the inn," said the maid with a huff.

The fluffy-feathered, horse-like creature snorted at her as if angry over the fact of being called, just, an "animal". Rosia came up to the hippogriff and petted her flank, "Soardash, won't be of a disturbance, she's very obedient and well-trained. Moreso than any other hippogriff."

Soardash nodded her feathery mane, her rider changed a different subject. "I am here to see a..." she stopped and got out a letter from one of her pouches and grasped it in her hand, it was a little crinkled and smudged with dirt. "A Knight, I guess. It mentions a "Sir" in front of his name, that's how I can tell," the elven-child nodded at her statement.

Marcus looked at Jolin. "i wasnt expecting somebody like that." he confessed. "she cant be the one we were waiting for." there was a pause for a minute, and then he went on with a low voice. "i must tell you my new dream. its different this time."

Marcus knew there werent any other Knights except him and Vincent in the inn. he went downstairs and greeted the elven girl. "Miss, i am Marcus Blacksword, knight of Sword. may i learn the name of the knight you're looking for? that must be me, or Sir Vincent that stays here, too."

Jolin, once he reached the bottom of the stairs, moved next to the elf, "Yes please tell us your story....we wouldn't want any misshaps thinking you are evil." He kept his staff where it usually was, but his grip had tightened on it.

"Oh you're a Knight!" the elven girl smiled, "And yes, I am looking for a Sir Marcus Blacksword." Rosia looked back on the paper. "What a surprise! And a Sir Vincent." She tried to make the letter as straight as possible, she wasn't suspecting herself to be a message deliverer since she was just out on a morning flight before it happened.

"This is from another Knight," she stated while handing the man the letter. "He wanted me to give this to you." Her ears drooped, "He was very hurt. Almost on the verge of death. I tried to help him, but all I could do for him was make a burial." Her eyes began to water, she sniffed them up and looked up at Marcus. "I don't know what it means, I was just going through a morning flight with Soardash here until I met him. I think there's a mention of a battle or something in there."

"we must go to the east. in a village on the way to Kalaman, a strange army had been seen." he glanced at the letter. "it is said that they never seen such soldiers. those men were wearing different armors that has some strange symbols on their shoulders and on their back. they were fighting for somebody else, not for the Dark Queen. these are just thoughts of the patrol over there. and they want us to go there and help them finding out who they fight for. that army had withdrown, but the patrol think they will come again. "

he turned to the stairs, willing to go and talk to Vincent, but noticed the elven girl just standing there.

The girl scoffed as the two left her in the room with the maid, angry over the fact that she was just shooed away like that. The maid by now was just as irritated with having to deal with her and the hippogriff, and briskly shoved the elven-child and the creature out the doors.

Rosia stood there outside, looking as the doors of the inn shut behind her. Looking away, she held her hands into her pockets and glanced up at her hippogriff, she nodded her head towards the town's exit. Soardash fluffed up her wings and placed one of them on her rider's shoulder as they trotted off into the night.

Marcus knew it would be better if Vincent didnt come and stay in safety, so he hoped Vincent to give a right decision tomorrow.

Marcus took his little pack and stood at the door. would Jolin and others come? "im leaving right now, sir." he said to the monk. "if you will come, i will be outside. the horses need to get prepared for the road."

The girl awoke from the sound of footsteps and rubbed her eyes from sleep. The horse-bird next to her stirred from her own sleep and raised her head at the figure coming in. Soardash became a bit timid, but seeing that it was the Knight from earlier, she gave him a nod of her head as Rosia awoke from her sleep.

"Oh! I'm so sorry, I was kind of sleepy, didn't get any for," she yawned, "quite awhile - Oh! It's you, sir Knight, are you leaving?" Rosia got up and wiped the dust and down from her clothing, Soardash also stood on her feet, giving her wings a flap to keep the blood flowing.

"you mustnt sleep here, miss." he looked at the street. the people had tried to get rid of the darkness, by liting small lamps in front of each house. but it was dark enough to walk while nobody sees you. "its not safe enough for a young lady."

She looked at him and saw that her name to him might've stopped at the first syllable. The elven-child smiled, "Rosia is fine, if that's alright with you, Sir Knight."

The hippogriff next to her nudge her in the back. "Oh yes! And this is Soardash."

The beast gave her a squawk-ish neighing sound. "OK, Soardash the Gentile," Rosia corrected with a playful pat to her hippogriff. She continued, "We were just going leave as well. Seeing how, I do guess, sleeping on the streets is a dangerous habit. Not at all like sleeping in the woods."

She turned her attention towards to the elf. She fluttered over to him with her hippogriff and hovered above him. Suddenly a thought came into mind. What was she doing? But before she could turn back she was before Jolin. Rosia bit her lip, but then quickly put on a serile face. "Take care."

Soardash gave her rider a weird look along with a silent whiny. Rosia blushed slightly, "I'm not," she growled through her teeth at her mount. With a word, the ranger went back to Marcus, her face straight and serious but a small sweat seemed to drizzle down her face. "Shall we go?"

"just like my dream" he thought. the road looked different, although he had walked there many times before.

Boring. Boring. Boring. Hmm! A fog! "Look, girl, a fog!" Rosia said while pointing to the ground, she looked up ahead and saw that the fog was humungous, blocking the sky from where she flew. "Wow... this no ordinary fog."

Soardash tilted her wing and fell down from the sky to fly low to the ground just to get closer to the Knight and monk. Seeing how the fog she couldn't see through and neither could her rider, so it would just make sense to be close to the ground in order to be able to spot Marcus and Jolin. Rosia was just about to tell about the fog, but she heard Jolin beat her to it. The young girl gave off a snort and crossed her arms in a pout.

Instantly she heard the elven monk add on to what he said before and twitched an ear. Surprisingly she couldn't hear the sounds and glared at Jolin. But then she replied, "Yeah, I hear it, too. I'll get closer." She gave the monk an impish grin. "C'mon, Soardash." With a screech of excitement from her mount, the two were into the air, disappearing within the fog.

"Where are we?" Rosia said to Soardash, after awhile they have been flying about in the air the fog making it hard for the both to see through and it scared her to think about this. At the most, an elf such as her should be able to easily see through fog - much better than human's that's for sure. But it seemed as though the fog would not let her peer into its secrets. Soardash gave a worried chirp, not liking this one bit.

'We better turn back, Soar' the elven girl was going to say as her skin began growing goosebumps from the chill of the fear. That was until she heard Jolin's mocking voice, in her head. What we are doing and where we are going is no place for the likes of you, you have delivered your letter, now leave....leave and forget about us. She growled angrily, "That bastard thinks he's so better! He's bloody blind, for the god's sakes! Blind! And he gets to tell me what to do because I'm a..." she bit her lip to tighten it from letting out the few words that she so dread to hear.

Soardash let out a squawk. And Rosia nodded her head so abruptly that her hair flopped up. "Exactly!" she growled again. "He gets on my nerves! Well I'll show him! I'll show them all! I'll show them that-"

Her speech was instantly halted when the fog lifted from underneath her, showing her to be flying over a camp, the small fires burning within it reflected off dark armor on the people's armor. Rosia gulped. "Soardash... I think we found it."

Marcus was happy to see that Jolin could handle it himself -he was worried about him because of being blind- so he concentrated on his own fight. he knew which part of the armor is weak and which part is strong, so he used his sword effectively. with a quick movement his blade cut the knight's arm where two parts of his armor joins together. the knight wasnt able to use his sword anymore. Marcus didnt kill him and left him with wounds that will not kill him but stop him moving.

there werent many knights on the camp, so it was easy for them to get rid of the knights. Marcus went to where the knights were sitting and chatting. there were some pieces of paper. Marcus took them and examined carefully. The elf watched from above in the clouds at the sight of the two fighting the way they did just now. She could believe the Knight and his skills, he seems to be well-trained for a Knight of the Sword (did he say?), but the blind monk - for one thing he was blind, and she became even more in shock when she saw a blind person fighting. Her thoughts on this was to never underestimate the blind.

She thought she heard the wind begin to breath before the hippogriff fell down from the sky and landed down gracefully upon the ground next to the two. The flames seemed to sparkle from the flapping of Soardash's majestic wings.

"That's rude to not leave any for me," Rosia smiled playfully at the Knight, she walked up to his side with Soardash following. The elven girl gave Jolin a glare and stuck her tongue out at him before turning her attention towards the writings in Marcus' hand. "What are these?"

he went on searching around and looked at the dark knights on the ground. he remembered the letter that was willing help. "...those men were wearing different armors that has some strange symbols on their shoulders and on their back..." he looked at the knight's armor, and saw the symbols. they were gray on their black armors, not shining any more.

She recited to Marcus what she knew. "They were to head to Kalaman - this camp. But I guess they won't be for now," she tried to put on her smile but it turned out crooked and one-sided. Soardash gave her a nudge on the shoulder, knowing that whatever she just mentioned would not have made her cry so easily. Rosia's eyes narrowed at the blind monk, but she still held on her optimistic grin. She faced the hippogriff, "Do you think you can make it?"

Soardash got up in one movement with wings spread out, she gave out a shrill of determination, the fire in her soul could handle a few miles - on an empty stomach. And besides she could catch a few things while in flight.

The elven girl also got up from the ground on her feet, she folded her arms underneath her chest. Giving her animal companion a look. "I don't know." She turned to face Jolin giving him a slyish grin. "Hippogriffs tend to just eat anything if hungry." And I would hate to see you be the one not around, Jolin-dear.

Soardash gave her rider a nugde on the arm. "But if you insist, Soar, then alright, let's get flyin', shall we?" the girl smiled. The hippogriff nodded in reply, easily excited to get the girl on her back and into the air.

Marcus's face turned to red when he heard about "being hungry". he had eaten all his meal without giving none to the others, especially the lady! he searched his bag, but there wasnt anything left but crumbs. his human eyes looked around to see an animal but there werent any. he could remember there was a rabbit hole somewhere near. he found and looked inside it, but there was nothing inside. also, there werent any kind of animals, even a fly or ant.

he was about to ask can hipogriffs eat plants? but he then realised that all plants around were diseased with some kind of illness that makes black marks on their bodies. although their leaves looked healthy, it would be dangerous to eat them.

so he mounted his horse again and said "dont worry, there isnt much way to the village."

"GOD!" Jolin swore, as he heard Marcus look for food "If your making such a big deal out of it here," He reached into his cloak and pulled out some meat jerkey and threw it a Rosia. "Now lets get going already, something is not right here....I don't want to stay longer than we have to.

"You don't have to do this, Sir Knight. Soardash said that she will-" the elf was completely shut off when jerky smacked into her face. Angrily she grabbed hold of the meat and growled at the blind monk for doing that. That was the last straw!

Watch where you're throwing that, you stupid, blind elf! was what she really wanted to yell out, but seeing Marcus around she didn't want to cause any seen conflicts just yet. Rosia clutched the jerky tightly in her grasp, squeezing it until it just snapped in two. She saw what happened and gave the dried meat to her hippogriff, who happily ate it, but was still curious over Rosia. She saw anger furrowing up the elven girl's brows.

The hippogriff got up to consolidate with the furious young elf, nuzzling her cheek, she cooed. The results didn't come out right, the jerky snapping in two did most of the calming her nerves for now. Rosia mounted the beast and looked away. "Shall we go, Sir Knight?" she said coolly, almost in an irritated voice.

Soardash gave her wings a solemn flap to get the blood running through the veins.

Marcus accepted Rosia's offer impatiently and the mare began to walk.

the village seemed to be very silent when they reached at the first houses. there werent nobody in the streets, even a farm animal like a chicken. it was strange to see nobody around in the middle of the day.

when the group was standing on the main road, some dark shapes came out of the shadows. Marcus stood ready to draw his sword, but didnt draw it, of course. but the dark knights stopped when one of them raised his hand. he moved forward and said "we know why you've come. but you cannot defeat us. all we say is that you can stay here for only one night and you have to go tomorrow."

Marcus knew it was logical to go to the inn and talk about this, but an inner voice wanted him to stay and kill those creatures of darkness. when he had this internal conflict, he heard a soft voice in his mind. "go to the inn, and wait" the voice said.

without thinking more, he walked towards the inn and looked back to see if the elves were coming or not.

Rosia walked right behind, the two dark knights seeming to have flanked her and bumped into her. They gave a low snicker, walking away deeper into the desolate town. She clenched her hands into fists. Soardash gave a low growl, ready on command to attack the knights.

"No," Rosia ordered. The hippogriff chirped and turned away, following after her rider.

Rosia looked back at the dark figures with a cautious eye, soon she averted her gaze. Anger slowly rising in her burning cheeks. Her forest-brown eyes trying to burn holes within the ground.

"Are we too late?" she asked.

OOC: Knight, I'll PM to you what happened. :)

"it seems so." Marcus replied the elven girl. "but there can still be a way to stop those" he added.

the streets were full of rotten fruits and dirt. there were dead leaves everywhere, but there werent as peaceful as a normal autumn leaf. the walls of the houses looked really bad, and some of the windows needed to be repaired. "this village is about to die" Marcus thought. he glanced at a rosebush next to a small house. the branches were black and lifeless, but there was still a small rosebud on it. Marcus tried to be hopeful again, but he couldnt be so.

the inn was as lifeless as the other buildings. he opened the door with a creaking sound. it was like wailing and crying with pain. a cool breeze filled the room and Marcus looked at the faces of the people inside carefully. they were all pale and bad-looking, as if they were ill.

he sat and began to wait, as he was told. the voices were right once, and he trusted them.

Jolin shook involentarily as he sat, the fingers of death were gripped around this villiage....and the feeling hit too close to home. "May there be some god that watches over this town." He said and looked to Rosia, "Do you feel the death elf-girl," He asked, "If you are not careful, you may be the next one it grabs."

Rosia tried to ignore the elf - she really did. Everything about him was just so cold and she didn't want to believe it - none of it. The elven girl was too scared to look upon the death of the village, how everything seemed to be dreary and gray, no bits of life could be happily veiwed upon the area. She shivered, feeling the essence of destruction and fatality brewing in the air; death caressed its long bony fingers upon her skin.

She quickly shook it off. Holding back her tears. "I have no worries upon death. Because there's something that death don't have that I got. To keep on living," she declared, strength in her voice. Accidentally she beheld the sight of the wounded and weak of the remaining people in the village.

The elven girl clasped her hands in fists, fear settling upon her heart. Quickly she let it aside, trying to ball up the abiding courage in her gut, her first sights upon an old man who appeared to have been shaken by the effects of the village he so called his home. Rosia sat in a chair next to him and held out her hand to enfold the wrinkled fingers within hers. On her face she held a warm smile, "Are you alright?"

The wizened face of the elderly brightened just a bit. But that tiny bit gave Rosia a need to keep their hopes alive.

ooc: im back!

ic: Marcus didnt give importance to the elves, because all his attention was on a woman looking at him. the woman stood up and came to Marcus's table. "may i sit here?" she asked. Marcus remembered the voice telling him to wait, and thought maybe she is the one i should wait for. so he greeted her.

she looked as if she wasnt effected by the disease. she wasnt pale like the others. she was young and beautiful. she had good-looking clothes that show her rich. she took a seat and got closer to the table. "you are sir Marcus, arent you?" she asked.

Marcus nodded, and the woman went on. "take this" she said, giving Marcus a small piece of paper. "follow the red line" she added, and went out of the inn. Marcus ran after her, but he could see her anywhere, so he went back into the inn. he looked at the paper, and saw the plan of somewhere, drawn with black. but there was also a thin dark red line, showing a path. Marcus looked at the elves.

"If you don't stop saying that, I'll lead you to your death!" the elven girl growled at the monk. He just - plan and simple - just got on her nerves all the time, there was enough sadness as it is, and all the monk was doing was making it worst. Letting it come to past and out of the way, Rosia walked over to the Knight and looked over his arm to see what it was that he got from that mysterious woman.

"Red line?" She turned her head from side to side as if searching for such a thing. "Nope, no red line here, must be outside or somewhere?"

She looked back over at the people who sat with hopes shattered and broken to pieces. "We need to do something to help, like getting rid of the Dark Knights, Sir Knight," she leaned in to whisper in his ear, not wanting any wandering ears to pick up any of what she said.

She felt a small bit of heat rise to her cheeks however she shook her head to get the unsettling feeling away.

It would make the place a whole lot better, she wanted to respond, but had to give off an angry snarl to add on to her irritation towards the elf. Snapping into attention after hearing the clanks of the metal armor, Rosia took hold of her shortswords, swinging them around her wrists before grabbing hold of them in a battle stance ready for the offensive.

In her mind she wanted to dig these two blades of hers right into those knight's chests for what they had done to the town.

Rosia eyed Marcus walking out of the inn. She lowered her swords next to her side. "Sir Knight?" Rosia looked over at the knights that just walked in and sat down for themselves, ordering their meals towards the people of the inn. One of them stared upon the elven girl who glared back at them, the knight gave a small snicker to himself as he yelled out for something to eat.

Everyone was afraid of standing up, although they knew that if they refused to give out their services to these Dark Knights then something was going to brew up. The old man Rosia had met earlier stood up from his seat and walked over to the Knights. Rosia instantly figured out that the old man was the innkeeper by the way a wash towel was over his arm and the apron around his waist. He hesitantly took the Knights' orders.

The elven girl could feel her hair bristle at the sight. "First they took over the town and now they want hospitality," she growled, she turned to face the blind monk. "I guess this is their fate?" The elven girl run towards the door to follow after the Solamnic Knight.

outside, Marcus looked around in order to see if there is a knight, but there was none. so he opened the piece of paper and looked again. in the dim light of the inn, he hadnt noticed the small words on the plan. he read inn, grocery,.....and with capitals: TEMPLE.

he walked according to the line, and found all of the buildings that were shown in the plan.

"so this is the temple." he said, looking at the temple from a distance. there were knights around the temple, but they didnt seem to have noticed Marcus. "the line on the plan brings us there. but i dont know how can we get inside." he stopped and thought for a moment "i dont know why should we get inside either."

he again looked down at the paper. the word was clear, simple and important-looking. he turned his look to the temple again. it looked as if it was calling him. temple...

"We can find it but we won't be able to use it," Rosia stated. But it sounded much safer than going in the front where practically the Dark Knights wandered about like a disease upon the area. She clasped the hilt of her left sword but hesitated. Wait - Think smartly, Rosia. The elven girl let go of the sword and raced up ahead, scampering behind every peice of broken debris that she could hide behind before any of the Dark Knights knew of her pressence. Thank the gods that she was born elven, her footsteps barely heard like a cats - better yet a tiger's.

Coming closer to the temple's front yard which a circular pattern of bricks that seemed to have been wrapping around some object, if any, but was there no longer, it seemed to have been shattered in stones. Probably by the Dark Knights. But wait. What was this statue might've been the statue of a god. She examined it thoroughly, almost to the point of smiling. Her heart raced within her chest as she tried to find some piece of the statue that might still be reconizable - an antennae.

Looking over at the Dark Knights, she made sure that they weren't looking, as if by magic or some divine essence, the statue's peices crumbled into a heap of dust causing her to skitter back to her comrades still carrying the bug-like antennae in her grasp.

"Sir Knight! Sir Knight!" she whispered out to him hoarsely. Once reaching up to him she showed him the antennae. Now that she was back to her friends she didn't have to talk but she did talk softly. "Sir Knight, which god do you think bares upon his aspect a bug antennae?" she smiled.

"a bug antennea? i have no idea." he thought about the gods -his knowledge wasnt much, though. - flames, harps, dragons, books, roses, horns of bisons, hammers...but no antenneas. "what do you think?" he asked Jolin.

03-10-2006, 12:20 PM
"Coming, Sir Knight," the girl responded, walking up to stand next to the Knight. Rosia had to agree, a heathen god. But why would the Knight's destroy such a simple town such as this. Well they'll be able to find answers once they get to the back door, maybe they didn't need a god after all.

Meanwhile, the elven girl placed the 'antennae' upon the side of her head and it fit perfectly in shape against the curve of her cranium. Even more interesting that the 'antennae' curved at some point and smoothed itself out into point. It was trying to mend itself. Rosia didn't notice the change as she placed the object into her knapsack. How the 'antennae' change from the thin and spinely structure to that of a horn made of ivory and marble. The remade object had grown in length bulging her knapsack as it protruded out from the top. And Rosia still hadn't notice it.

OOC: You know what, this would've been a lot better if I hadn't forgot what Jolin's deity was^-^* Silly, forgetful me:p
