I was looking over ebay for books and I ran across an advance reader copy of Amber and Ashes for sale. Is that legal to be selling something thats not available to sell? Or is it just not good form to sell something like that?
Heres the link if anyone is interested

I really like how they said the book will not be available until October. Blasphemy, I thought it was out in August. Anywhoo, those books usually leave out chapters/info that we the common reader get when it is nationally distributed. I would think it is illegal to sell this copy, then again I could be wrong. It is kinda like promotional items such as demo cd's where it says "not for sale." I will wait for the B&N to sell it. ;)

Notice that on the bottom of the front cover it says "Advance Reading Copy - Not for Resale"
I hope someone busts him :D

Not likely though. That's where I got my ARC of Dragon's of a Vanished Moon. Arrived a full two weeks before the day of release. There werent any chapters left out of it...as a matter of fact there was more in the ARC than there was in the finished work. But anyways, when I bought it, I got an email from WotC and so did the seller. WotC told us not to go through with the sale...but obviously we did anyhow...
I'm not saying that this was ok...Im just saying that WotC didn't exactly throw down the thunder on us....it was more like they said, "pretty please don't buy the book"
I will come out and say that when the finished edition came out I bought it on the day of release as well...and found it much more to my liking...those who edited the novel were right on track with the cuts they decided to make
So....the moral to the story......ARC's are cool....if you are lucky enough to get one somehow...The finished product is cooler.

Thanks Serena, I mixed up my wording when it came to the editing post-ARC. And I'm spent.
