OOC: I have a character named Kalena, she has had a wicked passed and this has made her cynical and evil. But I would like to develop her storyline so this the purpose of the thread.
Name: Kalena Oaksong
Gender: Female
Race: Kagonesti elf
Class: Fighter
Weapons: Longbow, longsword, knives
Description: Long black hair, that seems to make her whole demeanour of sadness and yet madness that would make her do anything; her clothes are tight and the colour of deep green. If anyone was to remark on her, they would probably say that she was definitely an elf that showed evil tendancies and revenge was still in her heart. She believes that the Knights of Solamnia were the ones that led a lizard man army into her village killing all but a few (Kagonesti Revenge).
Anyone can join so have fun, and you never know there might be more than one character's past being developed here.
IC: Kalena sat in the corner of the tavern, she was in the Royal Helm, an inn in Palanthus. She had made plans on recruiting a few people to help her on her next sabotage mission. This was definitely going to cripple the knights.

Class: Barmaid
Weapons: whatever she can lay her hands on at the time.
Description: Small With short brown hair. She has been a barmaid since she was 12 (she is now 18). She has been in the same place all her life and dreams of adventure. Most of the customers tease her about her desire for adventure. Who would take a barmaid with them? and what use is she to anyone besides being able to cook? She ignores these comments and just continues to dream.
ic: "What'll it be?" Aly asked as she sweapt up to a table in the corner where an elf woman sat.

Name: Zaren
Age: ???
Gender: Male
Race: ???
Class: Assassin
Appearance: Zaren has snowy white hair that flows over his shoulders and down his back. His ears are slightly pointed like a half elf's. He's about 6'3" with a muscular, but not too bulky frame. He wears black studded leather armor and sturdy boots. If anyone cared to look long enough they would notice that his iris's are a fiendish red color that seems to glow slightly when he's angry. His teeth are immaculantly white and the canines are a bit to long to be human.
Personality: Despite his appearance Zaren is rather friendly and quick to laugh, but it's balanced by his horrid temper. He has a tendency to hate people for no reason other than that he just doesn't like them. In most cases he'd rather laugh with someone than kill them, but when he has a job to do he does it with ruthless efficiency and pleasure. His favorite pastime is harassing women and getting into brawls.
Weapons: Scimitar and a dagger
IC:
Zaren watched a barmaid as she passed him by and whistled, giving her bottom a quick pinch before sliding off his stool to avoid the slap that was sure to follow. He grined and winked at her as she headed back to get something for the customers. Making a quick note to harrass the fisty new girl more often, he turned his eyes to one of the maids that had been there for as long as he could remember. She was taking the order of a rather preoccupied looking elf woman.
Correction: A rather dangerous looking preoccupied elf woman. With a sly smile he got up and headed over, giving the young barmaid a wink as he passed. He pulled out a chair at the elf's table and sat himself down in it with a smile. "Hello there honey, haven't seen you around here before." He said with a grin that showed off his longer than normal canines.

Kalena didn't even bother to look up, there had been several men that have already tried their luck, but to no avail. Kalena instead perused a note that she got out of her pocket, and started writing comments on it.

OOC: mind if i join?
Name: Ortac
Sex: Male
Age: 29
Race: Human
Class: Mercenary
Weapons: a long sword, and a dagger. he doesn't usually carry a bow, for he loves close up battles and the look of his enemy when they're stabbed, but for this occasion, he decided to make a good appearance and carried the bow.
Apperance: long auburn hair that stopped short of his shoulders, a hawkish nose, and some freckles thrown here and there upon his cheeks and forehead. green-eyes. his body was well-built, strong muscular arms and tree-like legs.
Bio: Ortac has been in the mercenary buisness since he was about 16. he first traveled with his father, but soon left that group when his father was too protective when the time for battles came. now he's a wandering mercenary, never staying in one place at a time, looking for some blood, sex and booze where ever he can.
IC: Ortac has been hearing rumors that someone was looking for hiring some warriors. he didn't hear much, most of the chattering was from old-house wives, and he didn't really listen to them, thinking it was just something they could talk about. but then he heard it from one of the people he met here in Palanthas. he couldn't say no. running short on food (and money, which he needed to subdue his pleasure), he headed straight for the tavern that the hirer was at, the Royal Helm.
Ortac has been here before, but didn't really like the ale they sold here. nonetheless he stepped into the bar, pushing the door hard. the door swung and hit the tavern wall, making a big noise. everyone in the tavern turned in the their sits or where they stood to see who made such a big comotion(sp).
"good," he whispered.
he strutted into the tavern to the bar and asked for an ale, dreading the horendous taste that would inevitably come when he slipped it. the second the ale touched his tounge, he quivered. he wanted to spit it back in, but didn't do so. instead he chuged down the drink and ordered another before he slammed the glass on the bar.

Name: Venir
Race: Dark Elf
Age: 231
Class: Black Robe
Description: Tall, almost 7 foot, lean, dark and clouded. Venir became a member of the black robes when he was exactly 100, and since then has learned many a dark secret. He is a stoic person most of the time, and twists his words so that they could mean many things, instead of just one. He has piercing black eyes and long, blood red hair that is braided in an intricate webbed pony tail that falls to his waist. In his dark robes, he seems a wraith-like figure, as if a damp and dreary mist surrounded him.
Equipment: No visible spell components, though he has many. Wields as weapons two scythe-like daggers that are almost a foot long each, and curve dreadfully. They are clasped unseen beneath his robes, though within easy reach of his hands.
IC: Venir sat in a shadowy corner of the tavern, unseen to most. Any who did see him quickly looked away, though, for he appeared an evil thing. For the majority of his time spent in the tavern, he had sent his mind's voice in a whisper to random people, scaring the urine out of them. Finally, a few worthy looking fellows had decided to drop in.
Venir took a special interest in one such man, a white haired, tall and dark figure. Venir knew that this man could likely see him, and could also know how to counter such an act as he was about to perform, but he had sparked the Dark Elf's interest. Sending out a tendril of eerie thought to the man, Venir 's mind spoke.
You know not who watches you in the darkest hours of the night, Blackcloak. Eyes are always searching, always calculating, Redeye. I have seen your dreams, and I am your nightmare.
Someone as dark looking as this man would, most likely, not be overly affected by the voice, but Venir wanted to learn as much about this man as he could from simple reaction.

Zaren was slightly disappointed but not put out by her reaction. He just continued to smile and rested his chin in his hand, peering at the note she was writing. "Really though, what brings you around here? It's no place for an ordinary elf, the other side of town is where you belong." He said in a more civil tone. One look could tell him this was no normal elf woman and he really hoped to get her to talk.

IC: Kalena noticed, well it was hard not to, the man who barged his way into the pub. He could easily join her in her quest, but he was a bit too... too open. But he could be stealthy still she thought. The man sitting in front of her was definitely a man of stealth, she could tell by his clothes. She looked at the man and at the question, "I am planning a few deeds to pay revenge of a couple of people, that is all." Just then the barmaid came back and put the drink on the table. (OOC: Sorry Darkmage 7790, I couldn't think of a more oppurtune moment to tally along on this revenge) "They are important people so I need utter secrecy and no one must know who they are."

Aly dropped her the drinks infront of her customers and walked back to the kitchen. Revenge? she thought, revenge on who? It took her half a second to station herself within easy hearing of the table in the corner. There was a very messy table to clean as well which helped cover what she was trying to hear.

Revenge? Ortac asked himself. Upon who? I must learn more. Ortac put down his fifth ale. he couldn't wait to get rid of the drink, it started to make he light-headed, but he wasn't anywhere's near drunk.
he walked to the table and looked at the figure. he couldn't see much of the hirer, except that it was a female from the conversation that he overheard earlier.
"hello," he began, "my name is Ortac and i would love to join this quest of revenge."

Description : An handsome man, black hair to the shoulders. He's like a walking armory by the fact that he carry two axes on a belt, one bastard sword and a strap full of dagger. He keep a clean shaved beard and seems like a joyful guy... But not now...
The man rushed through the door of the inn, falling on the floor with a lot of ruckus due to all his weapons on him. He was covered of blood, an not so deep hole near the belly.

IC: Zaren traced several symbols on the surface of the table with his claw like nail. He had just opened his mouth to ask her if she was in need of some help when some eavesdropper butted in. Before he could say anything another man burst in the front door screaming for wine.
With a low growl of frustration he watched, accidentally gouging a deep hole in the table. "Just let the fool bleed." He muttered, eyeing the bloody man with a mixture of contempt and what would appear to be hunger. Soon his eyes moved to the other man, Ortek or whatever his name was. The man looked like he would be a total liability on any mission that involved silence and shadow, but whatever, it was the lady's call. Besides, he might not even be going. He sat back to find out.

In all appearance, the man called Zaren had not heard his voice, and only then did Venir realized that his own magical wards had blocked his telepathy from working; he'd mentally and without notice thrown up the wards when the dark clad, white haired man had entered, for Venir felt something odd about him.
Venir didn't bother to send another message; he listened intently to the conversation concerning "meeting at the warehouse opposite". How convenient: the elf maiden had chosen Venir's self-proclaimed home to hold a meeting. It didn't matter, as Venir's actual "room" was high in the rafters that had been boarded together on the far side of the ceiling to form a small cover, large enough though for him to perform small experiments, study, and sleep.
Venir was interested, sincerely he was; so he would listen into the conversation held their in his self-proclaimed home and deem what to do from there. Without another thought on the matter, Venir vanished from view, though none had truly seen him in the shadowy corner, and to all those who looked, it seemed that the greater shadow within that corner had left with him.

Zaren noticed a flickering in the deep shadows of one of the corners as his eyes made their way around the room. It was as if there had been a wall there and now it was gone, the shadows vanishing though to any human there would have been no changes. A small smile came to his lips. Heard all you needed to hear, mage? he thought, bringing his glass to his lips. (ooc: he's not telepathic, just thinking)
After a time that he decided was a half hour, Zaren got up and headed for the door. He pushed it open and smirked as he looked out into the darkened streets that to him looked only slightly darker than the inside of the tavern though he knew they had to be almost pitch black. As he crossed the street he looked up and noticed that the moons were all dark except Nuitari, who shone full and bright. It sent a shiver of pleasure up his spine to know that the dark god was pleased about something that so utterly disgusted the other two gods. It had to be something big to disrupt the pattern of the moons like it did.
His smile stayed firmly in place as he pushed the door to the old werehouse open and walked in. A hand stayed on his dagger handle just in case.

His master had ordered the death of one knight commander, why that was was of no concern. He either killed the man or took his place on the alter and Zaren had no will to die like that. Venir had his own plan sketched out in his mind perfectly. He'd mentally followed the three killers as they neared the group, and now he cast a quick portal next to him. Stepping through, Venir appeared several rooftops away from the house, and he had an excellent view of the windows on the top floor. From this point, he could see that not all the guards were drunk. Several were traversing the top corridor, marching along outside their lord's door.
Focusing his mind hard on the three, Venir picked out the one that had the most basis to be Kalena, and sent a mental image as well as a message. There are apparently more guards than originally accounted for. I could shroud them in a mental darkness, if you wished. The darkness, as implied, would be only in their minds, and you would see perfectly well. A silence spell might also be useful to place upon the guards, he suggested.

Kalena fumed, it was turning out all wrong straight from the start. Damn she thought, it would have to come down to the black mages plan. "Ok Venir, we're going with your plan. You get ready to go through the window."

Venir smirked. I have no need to enter the building. And I can easily make the darkness imaginary, and the silence spell with keep all their clanging quiet until you can knock them out, or kill them. I can later bring them through a portal so there is no trace, if you wished." He prepared himself as he awaited Kalena's signal.

Kalena positioned herself, below the stairs, and she thought the signal for Venir Now . The spell seemed to take effect as the men stumbled around blindly, she whispered to the other two, "Quick and be silent."

The instant Kalena sent the signal Venir shot his mental tendrils out and ensnared the minds of the guards. He sent visions of darkness to them, and before they could call out, sent a silence spell in the darkness' wake. He basked in their shock and anger and fright as they realized what was happening; that they couldn't talk, that they couldn't see. It was if their mouths had sealed closed. This thought led them to believing they couldn't breath, and so some of them killed themselves out of fear and shock by believing they were suffocating. In total number, the guards dropped to 4 as 2 of them slumped dead against the wall, sliding quietly to the floor.
Venir chuckled slightly from his vantage point on the roof. Move along now, kitties.

Ortac creeped into the inn after his hirer, Kalena. the spells seemed to be working well. they got to the door and saw two guards dead on the ground, bloody, swords in their hands. suicide. dispicable, he thought. the other two guards stood their, erect and enert. they didn't seem to be dead, but they didn't seem to be alive either.
"what should we do about those two?" Ortac whispered to Kalena.

Zaren followed silently, ready to back them up if it was needed but otherwise happy to watch the fun. His reaction to the suicidal guards was one of extreme disgust. "Feed them to the rats." He muttered under his breath in answer to Ortac's question. "That's about all they're worth."

Milin was all that time following them, now he was in a empty barrel, big enough to hide Milin with all his weapons, the barrel had a strong stench, it had rotten fish in it not long ago, Milin, tought. But the stench couldn't stop Milin to look at the massacre happening just in front of him.
"Dang, those are mages... Psycho-mage, they're killing everybody 'round the place. I need to do something but what? Don't wanna be the next to die from them. Why are they attacking Solamnic knights? Servant of Takhisis?"
Slowly, without doing a noise, the mercenary removed himself from the barrel and shouted : "Guards! Guards! There's murderers here!" He wasn't really hoping for the guards to come here as they would just die without reason, but to distract the group. Then he unsheated a long sword and an axe, running in the backstreets.

IC: Kalena moved stealthly up the stairs, her grace and ease would have impresed even an elf. She turned to the two closest to her and knocked them unconcious, followed by the others. She stood outside the door, and counted with her hands to three. On the count of three they were going to run in and kill the Solamnic. One... Two... Thr- Kalena stopped, dropped her hand and then looked out the window, as she saw a man run around the corner, shouting for the guards. Guards downstairs, that weren't drunk started to stir and shouting to find out what the problem was, Kalena ran as fast as she could. Down the flight of stairs, vaulted through the window, not even slowing down. And down several alleys away. She stopped to breath but also to check if the others would make it.

Zaren heard the man call for guards and saw everyone take off and decided to do the same. He jumped out the window and climbed to the roof, taking the high road across the rooftops. It took him a few minutes to figure out where the others had gone but he soon poked his head over the edge and looked down at the other two. "Everyone ok?"

Venir appeared suddenly next to Zaren. He gave the bald like man a piercing stare, his deathly eyes filled with questioning suspicion at the man's comment. He seemed a bit...odd, and his comments weren't helping him. Despite this, Venir turned to Zaren.
"We should have killed him before we fled," he whispered.

Zaren kept his eyes on the man, only mildly surprised at Venir's sudden appearance. He didn't believe the new man's lie for one second but kept his mouth shut. "We wait for the woman's order. It's her revenge not ours." He could kill the man anytime he wanted but he would much rather have the woman do it. He wasn't a master assassin for nothing.

Venir didn't truly care who's revenge it was. He could have, as he fled, simply entered the Lord's mind and mixed up his memories so that the man would believe he was dead, and therefore would die. That didn't work on everyone, though. Some had been masters of stronger minds, and had managed to escape the death that their false memories portraid.
After all, Venir's greatest power wasn't killing people through the mind, but making them believe what he wanted them to. He could make them see him as a Cleric of Paladine, if he so wished. Some called it wanton illusion, though it was far more complex than that.
"So be it," Venir muttered strangly.

Zaren jumped down in front of Milin, landing within inches of him. He smiled sweetly, too sweetly. "Why don't you stay a while and tell us about this brother of yours." His tone made it clear that it wasn't just a suggestion. His clawed fingers tapped lightly on the hilt of his swrod making a soft ringing sound in the otherwise still night. After a moment he pressed his thumb against the bloody blotch on the man's shirt, where he had seen him wounded earlier. "You'd better start telling the truth boy, or we might just give my comrad over here a chance to sink his sword into some flesh." He growled. His red eyes seemed for a second to glow in the darkness, but within a second the glow was gone.

"Calm down, Now!" said Kalena, forcing the words through her clenched teeth. She had been thinking of how to come back from the set back, she placed her hand in her pocket and felt the same soothing voice talking to her, the medallion twirling around in her hand. "We know who you are", said Kalena hurredly to Milin. "We need to get out of here, lets go back to the warehouse. And take him with us."
Kalena strode off just as she finished her hand in her pocket. She reached the warehouse before the others, as soon as she was inside she ran to a dark corner, withdrew her hand from her pocket and spoke aloud to the medallion. "I know, it didn't work... What can we do?... But I want my revenge... Fine we will come back to him later." Kalena placed her medallion in her pocket.
