Haven
News had spread fast of the coming darkness. the dark queen had once again attacked the free people of Krynn. her new knights had already assaulted Solmania with devastating effect it was rumored that Tanis Half elven hero of the lance had fell and the dark knights now held the greatest fortress in all of Solmania. if this was true the small garason at Haven wasn’t talking instead the Solamic Knights had formed a small army. the army was broken into small companies the idea was to harass and ambush the enemy at every opportunity they weren’t strong enough to take the knights on the open field. The Dark knights had also been rumored to have started attacking the Elven Nation and the word was also out that the Dwarves had formed a huge army thousand of warriors and started to march against the Dark Knights but if this was true the City of Haven had nothing to confirm it.

The City was flooding with people war had driven them south and with each passing day the rumors of defeat grow, it was even said that the Elves had surrender to the Dark Knights and a Marshal had claimed lord ship over the land and would soon march on Haven. and so the companies of Haven marched forth. Commanding each company of the army was a small number of Solamics the company was made up by who ever they could muster Human swordsmen Elven Rangers and even mages lots flocked to the cause far to many remembered when the dragon high lords held theses lands in thrall none wished to see those day renewed. A company of one hundred and fifty marched out of haven and had set camp on the edge of Draken woods. Reports that the Dark knights had been scouting out the area around the edge of the woods, proberly for easier routes of attack because Haven was becoming a fortress in its own right.

It was mid morning when the 4th company rode out 150 strong the mix match of people the van guard of scouts reported nothing till mid day when a small patrol was spotted 5 dark knights and about 20 men at arms. easy pickings the company formed up a small group was to lure the enemy into a charge and that would spring the ambush the rest of the company would hit them flank on and the battle would be over in no time at all. But the Solamics didn’t count on one thing Dragons. Years had passed since the war of the lance and most of the company had never seen a Dragon and there was nothing worse than dragon fear.

The attack came swift to the company the enemy were charging at the force sent to lure them out, the plan was working the flank attack started archers cut down the majority and then joined the others to finishing off the last Knights. It was then in the open that the Dragons came three fell from the sky on sound as they came diving as straight as arrows the fear set in. dragons breath left huge gaps in the lines and the talons that swept in scooping up men did much the same. the retreat was sounded the dragon fear was to much the men froze in panic the leader a knight of the rose was among the next to die the company was tattered the group that had been used to lure out the dark Knights was all that remained un touched and least affected by dragons fear and with heavy hearts they fell back into the woods. it was the only option there would be other times to die but now was senseless.

Titus Longblade

Titus lent back against a oak he was out of breath running in full Armour for that long was not an easy task. he removed his helm and dropped it on the ground it fell on the soft leave covered ground without much noise. Now at least he could feel the wind on his face his long blonde hair wiped gently about his stern face his grey eyes looking at the sky for signs that the dragons may have given chase. He preyed to the gods that they would not. looking about he noticed it was only his patrol that seemed to have made it. slumping to the frond with a crash of metal he felt sad more than sad he should have stayed there was no point though what could he do with his sword against three blue dragons.

"We rest here but do not touch any thing no fires no hunting" they were now into Draken woods it seemed normal enough but if he wasn’t being chased by dragons he would never have entered these woods. Tales told of evil in these woods he might not believe such things but he would take no chances. Titus was still young he had just made Knight of the sword at the age if 28 most sword knights were over 30. Titus had been posted here just before the war broke out he counted him self-unlucky he want to be in the for front of battles not here in a backwater city. Titus stood at 5'8 not high by any means and his lean build was uncommon for fully armored Knights but he had proved time and time again he was worthy of the Knighthood. Titus wore the normal solamic plate carried a short bow and a broad sword his shield was strapped onto his back.

Titus picked up his helmet looking into the reflection his face was always looking Gaunt but now he seemed to think it looked more so than normal he had never felt dragon fear its true he had seen dragons but he had never been so close to them the feeling was devastating it shook him to the core the hair stood up on the back of his neck and his legs turned to jelly. he had only pulled it together long enough to lead the troop into the woods when he herd the retreat. Titus now had to figure out what to do "Arissa" he called out the name of the other knight who had been with the troop he hoped she had made it as well "Arissa has any one seen Arissa?"

Shira Fireblade

Third watch was always the worst, the night always seemed the longest before the sun showed it's face over the horizon. A cool breeze caused a stray strand of Shira's long blonde hair to blow across her violet eyes and with a lazy gesture she brushed it away. The sounds of merriment could be heard back as the other knights sat around the warm fire still regalling each other with stories of battles won, glory and honor. The dwarf spirits ran freely and the stories became more and more unbelievable as the morning drew near. Shira and the other knights were on their way back from delievering a very spoiled, haughty daughter of one of the most prominent men in palanthas back to her father. Serving as escort to the spoiled girl had been the worst assignment Shira had had to date, then again she was only newly knighted a month earlier. Sir Markum Uth Kannan, a highly respected Knight of the Rose had speciffically asked for Shira to accompany them, at the time Shira thought the lord's daughter had wanted another female present amoung the group of seasoned knights however as soon as they had started out on the journey the shrew seemed to make it her personal quest to give Shira grief, insulting her every step of the way, thank the gods that duty was now at an end. The snapping of a twig behind her brough Shira arround, hand on her sword, but she relaxed as recognized Sir Markum walking towards her, cup in hand. " Thought you might like some company" he stated the fowl smell of dwarf spirits preceeding him, " Here you are my dear, good for what ails you." offering Shira the cup, stepping up close to her. " Sir no thank you, I am on duty." Shira replied started to step away to put some distance between them and was shocked when his hand shot out to grab her arm, preventing her from moving "Ah come on now, we both know there is nothing out there that would dare to attack a camp full of armed knights. We could have some fun, you and I." Shira jerked her arm away from Sir Markum's grasp, anger evident on her face. " Sir I think you should find your tent and get some rest." she said evenly, trying to keep the contempt out of her voice. " I can make things easy for you, you will rise throught the ranks much faster with my help." Sir Markum whispered teetering a bit on his feet, suddenly his arms snaked out and caught Shira around the waist, drawing her up he smashed his lips down on hers. Shira pushed at him without success, and as he attempted to wrestle her to the ground she drew her sword. Sir Markum's eyes widened " You would dare draw your weapon on a superior officer." he asked incredously. Shira lifted her chin but said nothing, holding the blade steady. Sir Markum's eyes flared with anger then disregarding the blade, confident she would not strike him he came at her again. Shira's sword arced through the air and Sir Markums yell of pain brought he other men from the fire at a stumbling run. " I will have your sword for this!" he yelled at Shira, holding his hand to his shoulder where her sword peirced him to staunch the flow of blood. Shira stood there as the other men came up to assist Sir Markum, that none of them asked any questions told Shira they must have known what Sir Markum had intended. Shira knew there would be a hearing when they got back and she had no doubt the counsil would accept the word of the distinguished Knight of the Rose over hers. Her dreams of finding glory and honor turned to dust as she stood there watching her atacker being assisted to his tent, the restof the men refuseing to meet her eyes. An older knight came up behind her and jostled her a bit " Run lass." he said softly then looked into her eyes to be sure she understood before he also walked toward camp. Shira stood and watched a moment longer before she turned and walked into the coming horizon without another word.
ONE YEAR LATER
Shira woke up with a start, the dream of that fatefull night still haunted her. Raising her hand, she pushed at the mass of unkept hair that fell about her shoulders, her brown tunic dirty and torn. Shira had been travelling for some time now, never staying in one place too long in case the knights were still looking for her. She had been forced to sell all her armor and weapons to buy supplies and food which sadly had run out some time ago. Shira had only planned to stop and rest for a short time before continuing on but she must have fallen asleep at the bast of the old oak tree and it was only the blocking of the sun's warming rays that awakened her. Shira cracked her eyes open and her heart plummeted for standing over her, blocking the warmth Shira was sure she would never feel again...was a Knight.

Arissa Uth Kannan

Arissa ran to the side out of site of the other knights so they could not see her, at her 30 years and her first year as a Knight of the Sword she has learned not to be seen. She falls to her knees by a tree and throws up everything that was in her stomach, tears falling down her face. She could never get used to the Dragon fear, the only thing keeping her going was to prove to her father that she could be just as good as any son he could have had at being a Knight. She is not to bad at it, and can be quite brave except when it comes to dragons. She fears so much that she would be caught one day by another knight and be thrown out of the Knighthood.
She tries to stand, the fear making the armor even more heavy on herself, her brown hair sticking to her sweat soaked face. She tries to clear, her face of any evidance of her fear as she stands. And that is when she notices that she is not alone in the woods, she sees someone sleeping she thinks by one of the trees. She tries to quietly walk over and notices that it is a girl. The girl opens her eyes and looks up at her, with a look of fear like she had just felt not to long ago "Are you ok miss?"

Shira

Quickly averting her eyes Shira stood up to her full height of 5'9 and tried to smooth her unruly hair with her hands, a nervous gesture she had had since childhood. Nodding to show she was alright she glanced over at the knight and was surprised to see another woman, there had not been many women in the knighthood where she was stationed. "I am fine thankyou." she spoke softly as she took in the knight's appearance " Are you alright?" she asked for the knight looked almost as bad as Shira did herself, the only difference was the lady knight's armor was dirty from battle not from travel. Shira was uneasy however she did not want to give herself away and if she did not speak the Knight may become suspicious and want more information than Shira was willing to give.

Tyr

Tyr watched the exchange between the two women from the upper boughs of the very tree they stood below. The half-elf sat nestled in-between two of the thicker branches, careful not to make any movement that might alert them to his presence.
He had only just arrived in Draken woods, much like the small patrol of knights had. He doubted they would present a problem to him though, and rather hoped to follow them for awhile until they ran into the group of dark knights he had been tracking for three weeks now. Tyr soundlesly adjusted his cloak about him in an attempt to conceal the brighter colors of his regular clothes; a yellow tunic and green pants. He had not exactly planned ahead for this particular trip, having been visitng a spy for the theive's guild that had taken him in as a small child so long ago... The visit had been a casual one, until word reached the small village they were staying in that a troop of dark knights were marching east.
Tyr had made a hurried farewell to his old friend and, without bothering to prepare himself or his supplies had rushed off in hot pursuit of the knights. Unfortunatley his unthinking actions had brought about consequences. The half-elf had brought no food, and after being without for the better part of his journey, was now only too happy to resort to stealing from the knight's dwindling stores. That was another good reason to follow these solamnics.

Arissa

Arissa looks at the girl shocked, but recovering quickly "Me, no I am fine. Trust me it is nothing I cannot handle. So what are you doing out here all alone? You do not have any food do you?" She says trying to change the subject from herself, and besides it is always good to try to help those in need.

Shira

A wry smile lifted the cracked corners of Shira's mouth "Unfortunatly no, I have not had much in the way of travelling supplies for quite some time now. I am adept at finding staple in the forest however, you needn't be concerned." Shira spoke without thinking, the cultured tones of her voice belayed her ragged appearance. Flushing she looked away, silently berating herself for the slip, glancing at the knight from the corner of her eye Shira wondered if she had caught the slip or if she was too preoccupied with surveying the surroundings. " May I ask where the rest of your party is Madam?" Shira asked, she wanted to know where the rest of the knights were so she could attempt to avoid them as well as to turn the Knight's attention from herself.

the dwarf was an old dwarf. being half past the normal age of a dwarf, he couldn't run as fast as the young and in shape humans and elves (plus he was a little bit shorter than them). when the dark nights were spotted he was excited. he hadn't seen battle since the war of the lance and at that time he still didn't get that much action. his heart was racing with excitement when the call for the charge was sounded, and his heart froze with fear with the coming of the three blue dragons. he remembered the dragons from the war of the lance, he remembered the fear and beauty they beheld at the same time. he almost lost grip on his double-sided axe, but held on to it as he fell into the fetal position. the shadows of the dragon's wings flew over him. he could feel the fear crawl and tickle up and down his back.
the sound for retreat was issued. thank rerox! he said to himself. he got up, and ran towards darken wood without looking up or to his sides or behind him. his new mission was to get to that forest and hide from the dragons. then he was alone. the young humans and elves were already at the forest, while he still had thirty or so yards to go. no one was around him, he was isolated from his other comrades.
still he didn't look back or to his sides, he could run faster. he was closing in on the target, when he heard the crackle of lightning. now he looked up. a dragon was about to let loose its fatal breath. the dragon let the lightning out of his mouth. the old dwarf leaped to the side to evade the lightning, but it skidded his left arm. he didn't let out a cry, he didn't want to show that he was in pain, or better yet, that he was hit.
he stayed laying down on the ground, hoping the dragon would get the clue that he was dead and to leave. he just hoped that the dragon was hungry. the sound of crackled leather and rushing wind indicated that the dragon was leaving him. he took the bait.
the old and now some-what crippled dwarf got up and slowly walked into the forest. i made it! he said inside his head. he went deepper into the woods to find his "comrades" sitting there. they didn't even noticed he was here, or he was gone.
"they didn't care about me then, why would they now?" he asked. no answer was given, and he couldn't think of one to answer his own question.
he decided to take a walk to find a steam or pond to clean his wound and sleeve. he found it, cleaned it out and washed his sleeve and started for another walk to admire the beauty of darken wood when he saw and elf in a tree. he inspected the elf and saw that he was looking down at two human girls, more like eavesdropping. "i have nothing else better to do," he said.
even though he didn't agree with it, he still eavesdropped. he sat behind a tree in hearing distance of the two human womans. and listened to their conversation.

Kelevandra Lightbreeze

Kelevandra stood back with the wounded, her white robes stained with blood, guts and other things much worse. She prayed to her goddess and healed a knight that laid in front of her, Mishakal healed the soldier and he promptly went out to the fight.
She looked up and was happy that they were winning but sad for the loss of life from both sides; she stopped suddenly her eyes widened, her ears picked up silence, as 6 wings beat their way through the air.
Hell broke loose as the Dragonfear had slightly warn off and people were running, she screamed as well to the noise and cowered on the floor. She gripped her medallion and heard her goddess "You must get up Kelevandra, have courage".
She opened her eyes and healed the remaining knights around her, she looked up as she saw the three great dragons rise up and kill more of the army. People were running into the woods so she promptly followed.
Kelevandra hoisted her skirt above her ankles and ran through the trees seeking safety but also anyone needing help. She heard a shout of "Arissa", and moved toward the voice; she ran between the trees and stood on something soft which gave a yelp of pain.
A man had fallen on the floor, who had tripped on a root and stunned himself on the floor; she bent down and healed the man. She turned him over and he promptly thanked her, but he stopped and his eyes widened, Kelevandra turned around to see four Knights of Takhisis coming towards them; she cried out.

Alendria

The retreat was sounded just as Alendria was about to string an arrow to her bow. Figureing the wind was to strong then to carry her arrow upwards towards the dragon, she abandoned the idea and headed for the woods.
Once in the woods she fell to her knees, feeling the soft grass beneath her. She sighed, greateful for a rest from battle. She really was not fond of fighting, the only reason she was here was to save her home, wich had been overrun by the dark armies.
She looked around to see if there was anoyone who could tell her where they were going next, when she heard Kelevandra's cry. Alendria got up and ran towards the sound.
She found the cleric leaning over a man she had healed. She then saw Knights of Takhisis headed towards the two. Alendria immeadtly readied her bow and shot the knight closest to them.

Nighthawk Willowind

The whistling sound of arrows splitting the air was the last thing the dark knights heard. Once Alendria let out her arrow there attention focused only upon her. Although the dragonfear coursed through their veins the group of Kagonesti focused enough to shadow her attack. With a harsh elven word the warriors split off revealing their leader walking towards the the crying sounds of the dying dark knight.

The muscular elf was tatooed in traditional kagonesti symbols moving with the confidence of his royal cousins. His shoulder length brown hair was disheveled revealing his alert almond eyes as the fire reflected upon him. As he closed the distance within the knights vision he pulled his longsword from the sheath swinging it in a full circle and raising it above the dying man.

"For Tanis," he yelled in common peircing the man's heart. With a wild swing of his head he stared at Alendria, "Fight young one, this is only the beggining, you should want to witness the end."

Pulling the sword out with a quick thrust Nighthawk Willowind noticed the other group of knights coming for their comrades revenge. "We need to regroup ladies, let us go," he yelled running to help the injured man.

Aine Caedmon

A single bead of sweat clung perilously to the end of Aine’s nose. “Had enough?” his father said in raised tone. Aine furrowed his brow and then blew the sweat droplet in the direction of his father, “You only wish old man”. Without warning Aine charged, his training stick raised, ready to reign down a barrage of deadly blows. Instead of dealing his father a death blow, each attack was parried, then countered. After a minute or so the two stopped, Deekan laughed “You’ve come a long way son”. As he made his way back to the makeshift camp he patted his son on the back “I’m so proud”, he made sure he spoke loudly so his son could hear his words of praise.

Aine pulled off his shirt as he made his way towards the nearby stream. Sweat glistened on his well toned muscles; his fathers training session had once again given him a good workout. Untying the piece of cloth that kept his shoulder length black hair in place, he cupped some water in his hand and splashed it on his face. The cool refreshing water felt fantastic. Aine cleaned up, put his shirt back on and headed back to the camp. He enjoyed these trips into the wilderness with his father. Since he was a boy his father had taught him everything from surviving in the wilderness without food, to close combat fighting skills. In his youth Deekan had been one of Krynn’s most renowned mercenaries. Long since retired he had taken to teaching Aine everything he knew.

Aine pulled a chain mail vest over his shirt, strapped his belt around his waist, and adjusted his long sword. “Well Dad, should we pack up and head back to town?” Deekan nodded and spoke a few words that Aine could not hear and then started towards the stream to refill their canteens. Understanding what his father was doing without hearing him, Aine began to pack the remaining rations and blankets. Satisfied that everything was in order, he stood up and began to head down to the stream. As he neared the stream he didn’t at first see his father, it was only upon closer inspection that he saw the man’s figure hunched over the water a few yards away. As Aine drew closer his breath and strength left him and he dropped to both knees. Protruding from his father’s side was an arrow buried half way to the flight. Before he could attempt to assist his father, two knights wearing jet black armor emerged from the nearby woods. Seeing that the old man had company, the knights took one look at each other and then moved quickly in Aine’s direction. Not waiting to ask any questions, the first knight drew his sword, the second followed suit. Aine quickly got up and drew his own sword, then began moving swiftly to level ground. Both knights circled Aine for a few moments until one took the first swing. Aine parried the blow deftly to his left, spun to his right, and let his momentum carry him beside the knight. As the knight recovered from the strike, Aine drew a dagger from his belt and drove the weapon deep into the knight’s side. Falling immediately to the grassy banks, the knight howled in pain as he grasped at the dagger. Aine now focused his attention on the second knight who continuously looked to his fallen comrade, then back to Aine. The knight looked nervous; Aine knew he had the upper hand. Closing the gap between the two of them, Aine brought his sword to waist level, and then raised the tip. Striking quickly he knocked the knight back a few paces towards the boggy banks of the stream. The knight raised his sword in an attempt to strike Aine, but as he attempted to gain footing, slipped to one knee. Aine wasted no time and in one swift slice cut the knight between the neck and breast plate. Blood spurted from the dark knight’s neck, his jugular vein severed. Aine watched as the man toppled backwards into the stream and began his voyage downstream. Walking back towards the first knight, he kicked his body to make sure he was dead, then removed the 7” throwing dagger.

Not wanting to stay in the area too long, Aine kneeled over his father, said his blessings and then let the river take his body.

Moving away from the camp he could faintly hear the sound of other voices. Heading quickly in the direction of the voices he soon spotted what appeared to be a cleric, a female marksman, and a Kagonesti elf that had a slain dark knight at his feet. Aine saw the knight’s comrades approaching and motioned to the Kagonesti, “This way” He said, darting off into the thick brush. He could only hope they would follow.

Titus Longblade

there was no sign of the sword knight Arissa Titus was worried she hadnt escaped he was back on his feet now when he herd the cry it seemed some one had given chase after all. that ment the dark knights would be swarming in here soon. getting into a quick pace Titus darted inbetwen trees and bushes his armour crlanging with every stride others seemed to be quickly aproching the cry also and there was an understanding without any commands needed.

When Titus reached the person he noticed it was the Company cleric Kelevandra Lightbreeze her white robes red with gore. two others stood by her the other two females stood firm as they had fell an enemy a dark knight was lying at their feet someone unfemiliar to the troop was beconing them to follow he was trying to help them escape. now Titus could see the aproching men armour of the dark knights was clearly seen. so it seemed the enemy were apone them trying to flush them out of the woods and his troop was scattered to haven and back things didnt look up.

Titus skided to a halt the group would get away eassier with out him banging around he need to re form the troop or at least what was left of it. they would need to make a fighting withdrawral the horn need to be sounded so they al new where to rally to. Titus and those who were following him took shelter in a the grove archers ready to take out any one wearing the dark knights colours. Titus snarled at the man with the horn "where is Arissa and Ragnail? be ready to sound the horn for a rally we are going to need every one if we are going to fight our way out of this" Titus gritted his teeth and hoped that the others were at least making there way to him. with out every one they wouldnt make it to haven alive.

The dark knight force was not a scouting force but a much larger force three hundred strong they now lined the edge of draken woods where the Solamics had routed to and started to push into the old forrest. they wernt going to let word get back to Haven.

Kelevandra Lightbreeze

Kelevandra covered her eyes, she abhored death even if they were willing to kill her. She stood up and picked the man up next to her, they ran in the direction of a man who had said to follow him.
It would had made more sense to follow the Kagonesti as they were one with nature and could easily move around the trees, but her own Qualinesti blood was too proud and foolish. She followed the man, who she later identified as a Knight of Solamnia, when she heard a horn blast through the trees; she knew the call for retreat and could only discern one direction of the sound.
She ran between the trees ignoring the man she was following towards the horn, she ran into a small clearing, in which several knights were huddled together peering at a map that laid between them. She was running too fast and Kelevandra tumbled over one of the knights to land on the map in the middle of the three knights. Due to her elven quickness and less cumbersome garments, she stood up and ran once more into the woodlands cutting inbetween the trees followed by the three knights, they were shouting and hollering. Only after a little running did she realise that the map that they were looking at was stuck to her robes with blood, she pulled it off her robes and secreted it within the cloth.
Still the voices could be heard and now more were joining the call, she looked behind her to see ten knights following her, wanting the map back as well as killing her. She ran into another clearing, but this had a grove at one end, where archers were pointing bows at her. Again her speed brought her too far in to slow down, and she screamed and jumped to the floor, her hands upon her head to gain some kind of protection.

Shira

The unmistakable sounds of battle reached Shira's ears and she quickly jumped to her feet. " I believe your friends have need of you from the sounds of it." Shira's blood stirred in her viens, you can strip the body of a knight's armor but you can not take the knight out of the body. "This does not sound good, I must go." she said. Shira longed to fight however she knew she would only get in the way and the outcome could be disatrous for her if this knight found out who she was. Shira could not take that chance besides she did not even have a weapon and could not defend herself. Before the lady knight could speak Shira began to run swiftly between the trees, keeping the sounds of yelling and thrashing to her back she knew she would be able to outrun any who pursued. This was the last thought that ran through her mind before she ran headlong into what felt like a brickwall though was no more than another body.

Arissa

Arissa watches as the girl runs off, there was something familiar about her but she could not place it. She hadn't time to worry about it though because as the girl said there was sounds of a battle. Feeling better then when she arrived she starts heading for it, taking out her sword just in case of running into anyone. She then hears the horn blair, she changes directions slightly to follow that. She finally arrives in the clearing, and watches a white and red blirr cross in front of her with some knights trailing after it. She then looks around to see Sir Titus, and she makes her way over to him Saluting "I am sorry it took me so long sir."

the sounds of the horns reached the old dwarf's ears. he put his hand on the ground to help him get up when he felt a gooing substance under it. he lifted his hand to inspect it and realized it was vomit. he quickly shook his hand to get some of it off and wiped the rest that was on it in the grass. when the vomit was all gone (the dwarf still quivered(sp) from the memory of the texture and smell of the vomit), he grabbed his axe and started to jog back to the camp site. he tripped over a root and fell to the ground. his face hit something liquidy.
"this better not be vomit again," he said. he lifted his face and wiped the liquid off, the red liquid. "blood," he said, "just great."
he finally got to the campsite and spotted his commander. "i am sorry to be so late sir," he appologized while breaching the camp, "i had to wipe some disgusting things off of me." the dwarf shivered. he saw that he was not the only one appologizing to his commander. he turned and saw that it was a human woman, and a pretty one at that. he extended his hand, "hello," he said, "Ragnail Ironi don't believe we've met before."

Tyr

The half-elf slipped down from his perch and onto the forest floor, listening to the sounds of battle around him. Tyr had never been very military in his thinking, and even now was particularlly confused by the chaotic randomness that made up this skirmish. But even so, he was not fool enough to neglect common sense. Both of the women he had been watching had run in opposite directions, and one of them had been followed soon after by a dwarf that had escaped the half-elf's notice at first.
Tyr assumed that the first woman, being a knight, would not be running away from a battle. The other had not even possesed a weapon, therefor it would be useless to follow her if he wanted to find the dark knights. The half-elf turned, following the dwarf's trail and sidestepping a small puddle of a foul-smelling substance.
He had not gone far when suddenly the foliage thinned, and he came abruptly to a clearing of sorts. Tyr froze, finding himself standing in front of the same dwarf he had been following. The woman was also there, as was another male knight.

Muttering to himself in elven Nighthawk had no time to argue with the knight and trailed the group covering scanning their rear. Any ranged weapons would be useless in the brush which was to their advantage. Yet there were dragons about which would easily discourage any thought of survival.

Turning back towards the knight he growled, "If you take us any further we will surly perish human. I can fight alone but the further we break off from the ranks the more the others are vunerable."

Titus was glad to see the female Knight and Ragnail the third person was a mystry had the half elf been from another troop he was un sure but he defently need his that was for sure. the dark knights must have been making a push almost every one had arrived the Cleric was now with them she was a mess and was proberly scared out of her wits. he wondered what had become of the Elven ranger the marksman and the boy he saw earlier surely they would be with them soon.

A hailof arrows went sailing as three dark clad infintry entered the killing ground they fell befor the last arrow was even loosed. the arrow ridden corpses wouldnt be the last.
"Arissa we will have to with draw we wait a while longer for any one else to reach us then we cal the retreat". he was hopeing more would come he turned to the half Elf he wasnt sure if he was even from this company but he needed his help "welcome to 7 troop your help is much apretiated" all there was to was hope others would reach them befor they got cut off. the dark knights would soon be on top of them.

Sang-Drax couldn't believe his luck being stuck with Knights of Solamnia and he a black robe. Then again one doesn't say no to an order given by the conclave. Still he couldn't tell what was worse having this assignment or being late. Oh gods will he be in trouble and with that thought of guilt he cast the teleportation spell that would take him to Lord Longblade. By the gods he even thought of the man with disdain. Well here we go he thought.

"Where is Master Longblade I must confer with him immediately!"Sang-Drax bellowed and he had quite a loud voice compared to most of his silvanesti brethern.

Aine crashed through the brush with reckless abandon, he wasn't even sure if the others had followed. After a few minutes he came to a clearing where he spotted a Solamnic knight, a human woman, and a dwarf. Aine slowed his pace and held his arms outstretched in an attempt to convince the group he was not the enemy. Slowly he approached the group, he hoped they could provide some answers "Tell me Sir Knight, do you know why these dark knights attacked here.......and killed my father".

Shira

Stunned from running headlong into an unmovable body, Shira cursed herself while trying to regain her senses " Who do you think you are running through the woods like that? An elf for stars sake?" she muttered then looked up to see what she had run into. Her heart sank somewhere into the vicinity of her stomach as she took in the awful sight of shining black armor, gleaming longsword and wicked grin. "Well now what have we here?" Shira scrambled backwards, she had no hope of defeating the dark knight her only hope was to get away. That hope was quickly squashed when two other knights stepped from the trees, flanking her. Shira quickly glanced at the surroundings, looking for anything she would be able to use as a weapon and spying a good sized branch laying not four feet from where she was standing hafl covered by overhanging bushes, she edged towards it while trying not to seem obvious. Shira allowed her eyes to fill with tears and the edge of fear to creep into her voice " What do you want, I have no quarrel with you." The knight laughed a huge ugly sound, he was clearly enjoying seeing her afraid "There are Solamnic's here, I am going to get rid of them. Looks like I am to be rewarded for my efforts." The other two knights laughed at this as well and while their guard was down she spun around to pick up the tree branch. Grasping it firmly she faced the first knight grimly, the smile remained on his face and the other knights seemed to laugh even harder at the sight of a slight woman brandishing a stick to ward off an armed knight. " May the Gods watch over me." Shira prayed and swung the branch at the knight with all her strenght.

Arissa looks down at the dwarf for a moment, seeing his hand extended she takes it and shakes it "I am Arissa." Then not a second later she turns to hear what Sir Titus had to say.

Not liking hearing the word retreat, but knew it would be for the best "Yes, it will be best then. By the way, I had found a girl on my way here. three more dark knights breached their campsite and were taken down again with arrows protruding from various places. as of right now it seemed that the dark knighs were coming three, four or five in a group at different times. but in time, the whole army would reach them. 'I am honored to help.' Tyr replied in answer to the knight's words. The half-elf thought it best to play along, the knight obviously thought he was a soldier of sorts. Not to mention it would do his situation no good to come out and say, 'greetings...I've come to steal your food and supplies.' No, it would be far better to stick with this small group for now. Tyr was sure they would give him what he needed if they believed him to be part of their assorted ensamble. After all, he thought with a touch of amusement, they both appeared to have the same enemies.

Titus Longblade

Titus took the map from the cleric it showed him there location and the enemies and it wasnt bloody good if this map was right the enemy were almost ontop of them. titus unfolded more of the map to see the intire Haven area he almost droped it. the map was marked with pin like counters some may have come off makeing it not accurit but it indead confirmed that haven was being marched apon. "may the gods bless you Kelevandra, you have done the haven a great serves" the only problem was that now he had to get this map to haven.

Titus could see the young man as he came towards them his arms out streached he could see the grief in his eyes and his words confirmed what he thought "im sorry Lad but i think it may be best if you stayed here dark knights have almost surounded this incampment".

Titus then turned to Arissa "take Ragnail oha nd here is Alendria find this girl and bring her with us we havnt much time" Titus nodded to Alendria at her arivial. hopefully the three of them would make it back Ragnail was a good hand and Alendria was a good ye they would aid Arissa.

souts were coming from the far side of the troop aparently someone had arrived. a runner came up to Titus "Sir a black robe is here" on any other day of the week Titus would have feared a black robe but this was not the case today, the conclave was also at war with the dark knights and so the black robes were alies.

Titus approched the Black robe nodding to greet him "im Titus longblade you are just in time"

the plan was forming in Titus's head once Arissa was back they would retreat they had at least 30 men now they might have a chance. he also new a place to lie low Grey stone was neer a large rock formation with acave under it all he had to do was wait a little longer.

Swinging the branch at the dark knight with all her stregnth, Shira had little hope of injuring the knight however she hoped to at least knock him off balance to give her a slight chance to escape. The knight simply lifted his arm as the branch came at him and it struck his protected forearm, the metal bracer deflecting the swing easily. One of the other knights came around behind her but Shira had been waiting for such an attempt and before the knight could lay his hands on her she spung around, planting her foot in the center of his stomach, knocking him down. Nodding at the third knight, the leader of the men folded his arms across his chest and smirked at Shira, apparently finding her efforts amuseing. Shira turned slightly to face the third knight as the second got back to his feet, though she was surrounded again she was pleasantly surprised to note the third knight wore a bastard sword instead of the favored longsword. Taking the knight by surprise Shira smiled and winked at him " It's a shame we are enemies handsome" then she sauntered over and ran her hands over his breastplate, pressing up against his body briefly she purred low in her throat. The smile that had begun to form on the knight's lips quickly vanished when she pulled back, his sword in her hand.

Only one man standing and the girl with a sword pointed at him, there is something about this girl. She motions for Alendria to have an arrow ready, and for Ragnail to be ready to fight. She then walks around coming out of the woods with her blade stretched to the dark knight's neck also "And hear I though I had to worry about you girl, seems to me there is more to you then you were letting on."

The kagonesti raced away from the group satisfied they would be in good comapany. He could hear the whistles of his brethren indicating which strategy they would need to take in order to corral the dark knights to their doom.

Grinning the elf noticed a young human rolling on the ground with a knight of the dark lady. He began to pull his sword taking a short step and halting in suprise. This child had stolen the sword from the trained warrior, "Truly wonderful," he whispered.

Slowly he scanned the area for any other enemies to ensure she would not be blind-sided by another attacker. In his tribe this was tradition to be judged as a warrior in one-on-one combat. Shira stiffened slightly when she heard the amused voice of the lady knight behind her Just what I need she thought though she did not turn her attention from the knight in front of her "Not everything is as it seems m' lady" Shira replied. The dark knights, seeing they were surrounded grouped closer together. The leader pulled his longsword from it's sheath "I'll not be taken prisoner." he growled and immediatly engaged Shira determining her to be the weakest link. The other two knights followed suit thought the knight Shira releaved of his sword had only a dagger to arm himself with. Parrying the first thrust Shira was releaved to find her own knight's training and skills had not abandoned her since her long absence, the smoothness of the moves returned to her without thought and soon she moved from the defensive to the offense, useing the dark knights own moves against him. Shira trusted that the other two dark knights would be dealt with by the lady knight and those with her so she focused all her attention on being the victor of the battle. Thought the Dark Knight had a longer reach with his longsword, Shira was the faster of the two, not encumbered by heavy armor, it wasnot long before an opening presented itself and taking it she watched his eyes open widen disbelief as Shira's sword found it's mark. Tyr

Tyr rolled to one side, causing the knight's blow to strike the ground instead of his chest. The half-elf scrambled to his feet and retraced his steps, hoping to draw his enemy back to where Longblade and the others were.
He could hear the man's muttered curses behind him as Tyr led the knight forward, and the two of them were surrounded once again by the thick of battle, and a strange turn in the weather.
Just as Tyr was about to alert Longblade to the dark knight's presence, there was a sharp rush of air and the half-elf cried out in pain and surprise. He stumbled and fell to the ground, the black hilt of a dagger protruding from his left shoulder.

Nighthawk

Crouching down the elf notched a quiver upon his bow aiming towards leader of the knights. Releasing the arrow his aim was true striking the unfortunate man in the breast.
He gained a few moments for the groups withdrawel. The group was in disaray wildly looking around for the assassin, but it would take more to find a kagonesti.

Hiding perfectly within his realm Nighthawk fell back to the knights designation. He did not lie defeat, but his people were never known to fight with force. He broke into a sprint backtracking to throw the forces off his current allies.

Kelevandra Lightbreeze

Kelevandra made her way through the woods, and she heard the screams from the lightning bolt, she knew there was nothing she could do, but she had to go and check. She started back and heard someone grunt in pain, she prayed to her Goddess to lead her towards the injured person, she felt him near the back of the travelling group, she ran. She ran between the trees, jumping over the roots and running towards the back, she stopped suddenly as she saw blood on Arissa's face. She stopped, healed her and ran to the back of the group to see Tyr on the floor. A knife was prtruding from his back, she knelt beside his body, took the knife out quickly and healed the wound up, although there was initial pain it soon subsided.
She helped him off the floor and slowly made their way towards the group again, "What happend?"

Shira ran along with the others all the while wondering how she managed to get herself mixed up in all this confusions. All she was doing was a bit of travelling, she lay down to have a nap and woke to find her world had once again turned upsidedown.

Aine followed the others, he hoped that once they arrived at their destination some order would come to the group. Dark Knights, Dragons, every character on Krynn seemed to have converged on his world in the last hour.

Ragnail

Ragnail hid behind a tree as three arrows hit the bark on the oppostie side. he pulled out a throwing axe and chucked it at one of the archers. hit him square in the neck. he pulled his head back as two arrows flew by where his head use to be. he pulled out another throwing axe and jumped to the next tree. the archers let loose two more arrows and when they missed him, Ragnail jumped out of his hidding place and threw the throwing axe. he drew his own axe and cut down the last archer. Ragnail grabbed his throwing axes and started to run back to the majority of the "army," but tripped over a body.
"i am tired of tripping over things!" he hollered.
he got up and turned the body over. it was arissa.
"arissa?" he asked. "arissa?"
but she didn't answer, an arrow was protruding from her heart, she was died. he prayed to rerox(sp) to guide her spirit and retreated as two darknights entered the clearing, he left just in time.

Kelevandra heard the call once more for retreat, she sprinted through the woodlands, her elven swiftness and no emcumbering objects made her move between the knights with ease, occasionally stopping to check that people were ok.

Shira

As Arissa fell, Shira felt a quick stab of regret. She had not known the lady knight but deemed her to be honorable. Shira was sure that now her secret would remain hers with Arissa's death however there was another part of her that longed for the charade to be over. Puasing for a brief moment Shira saluted the fallen form of the knight then hurried after the retreating back of the lord knight ahead of her.

"Whoa this is getting hairy I'm getting out of here but I'll do just one me thing!" Sang-Drax thought to himself and with that he he made a 30 feet wall of ice. "That should cover their retreat." Sang-drax teleported to Titus' side. "There sir," Sang-Dax then collapsed.

'It was nothing,' Tyr replied in answer to the cleric's question as he ran along side her. The half-elf was angry with himself for not keeping his gaurd up; that particular fight should have been his. 'Only a foolish mistake.' he muttered under his breath. 'Thank you, though.'

Ragnail

there was no one in front of Ragnail, or next to him on either sides. he looked behind him and saw the rest of the "grand army." looks like now he was leading them, and he wasn't a leader, or the leader, it was Titus, plus, he didn't know where the rally point is!. the ice wall that the black robe created did help them on their retreat, for it slowed down the dark knights, but it wouldn't stop the three blue dragons that traveled with them. a shadow of a wing passed over Ragnail. a sudden fear gripped his heart. he didn't know if it was the fact that he was leading the group to safety and that he may fail them, or that there was now a dragon above him. "Titus!" Ragnail shouted. "Dragon!"

Nighthawk

Watching the armies world close upon them the wild elf wondered if he would see the sun another day. This battle seemed to be lost and the lives of his comrades seemed to be in vain. Running up to Shira he whispered sternly, "We may still live to fight another day, but we must not go this way."

Feeling somewhat refreshed Sang-Drax rose to his feet. "By Nuitari I collapsed err." he sthought."Do dragons ever stop!"He bellowed and he began to cast yet another spell one of true power his own spell. A tornado coursed through the land and the ice shield held soon after lightning chained through the sky.

Shira

Shira was concentrating on makeing her escape when Nighthawk came up alongside her. " We may still live to fight another day, but we must not go this way." he said. Shira trusted that the Kagonesti warrior would surely know of a better way to retreat, and she quickly nodded her assent. Though she held no alliegance to this army, though Shira was no longer a Solamnic Knight, her eyes turned to the broad back of the lord knight she was following. Taking hold of Nighthawk's forearm Shira gestured to Titus " We can not allow them to go to their death. Lead and I will follow." Shira ran to catch up to the lord knight and grabbed his arm " Come m'lord, we must go this way!" pulling him in the direction that Nighthawk indicated.

Shira

Shira felt she had done what she could by telling the lord knight to follow the Kagonesti warrior out of the woods to safety, if he choose not to that was his decision. Shira turned to Nighthawk and nodded to show she was ready. Pushing through the low laying foilage Shira followed Nighthawk as he melted in and out between the trees, she could barely keep up with the graceful warrior, he made hardly a sound. The sounds of shouts and battle cries faded as they moved farther and farther away, soon the only sounds to be heard was the footsteps following the kagonesti.

Breathing hard, Shira struggled to keep up with the fleet Kagonesti. The events of the day were catching up with her and she knew she would have to stop soon for rest. After struggling to top a rise of a hill Shira stopped to catch her breath " Nighthawk, I have to rest a moment." she said as she sank to sit on a large rock. Looking back she sighed "Do you think the others made it out?"

Ragnail

the dragon came out of no where. it took Ragnail-and his companions-by totally surprise. immediately the dragonfear sunk into his bones and froze them. he couldn't move. the dragon grinned as it saw some of Ragnails buddies run off or fall to the ground quivering, pleading for their lives. Ragnail fought the dragonfear, but it was like fighting a god in the immortal plane, it couldn't be beaten. suddenly, the dragonfear left. Ragnail shook his head and moved his arms and stretched. the grabbed his axe and then suddenly, he was frozen again with fear. off, on, off, on. the dragon was playing with Ragnail and his friends. the dragonfear left once again and Ragnail took out a throwing axe and chucked it at the dragon. the dragon wasn't paying attention and it hit him in the right eye. it let out a tremendous growl, more in astonishment then pain. the dragon shook his head trying to get the axe out, but it was lodged in, and deep. Ragnail took his axe and ran for the woods, but out of the corner of his eyes, he saw the black mage on the ground, with a dark knight above him. he ran at the knight and leaped and said, "hey, spawn of the abyss, look out!" the dark knight turned around, but only to meet the blade of Ragnail's axe slice his head open. he crouched and shook the mage, "hey, are you okay?" he asked. the mage groaned but nothing more. Ragnail sheathed his axe and grabbed the mages legs and pulled him farther into woods, out of harms way. once they were far enough away so that the dragon couldn't get to them, he stopped and tapped the mages cheeks. "hey," he said, "buddy, you okay?"
