A New Dawning.....

Hi guys, I am new here so you will have to bear with me.....The setting is just after the Chaos War...the Gods are gone and the dragons have arrived destroying homes... no one understands what is happening to the world around them and groups of people are wandering around looking for new places to live.

ooc- Standing at the edge of the woods, Khara Sliverwing, a young headstrong Kagonesti elf, looks out over the rolling fields and spies a ragtag group heading her way.

inc- " I don't know who you are, but if you think your staying here to rest your sorely mistaken." Khara whispered to herself. She watched the group a few mintues longer then left to report her findings.

And normally people post a bio for their forum character but not always so yeah.

BIC:

Amarar came out of the underbrush. "What did you see Khara?" he asked tentatively, as if something ghastly and foul lurked about.

ooc- :) Thanks...told you I was new....

bic- " There are a group of intruders heading this way..." Khara replied " Two of them have weapons, I need to tell my brother about this, stay here and keep an eye on them, what ever you do don't let them see you." Turning Khara rushed off deeper into the forest to find her brother Darin, the leader of the small clan. Khara ran swiftly along the paths towards home, " Please let them continue on without stopping here" she thought to herself.

OOC: oh man you are so perfect in grammar and punctuation! I am usually too, but on forums you can just sit back and get lazy...

BIC:

"Don't worry," said Amarar. He slipped back into the trees and was out of sight. He sighted the group far up ahead. Amarar whetted his knife and got out his blowdart.

OOC: Ok...now I'm starting to do that again...

bic- Out of breath Khara reached the village and quickley searched for Darin, spotting him sitting outside refletching his arrows, she hurried over to report what she had seen.
"There are a group of intruders moving in this direction coming out of the east, Amarar is watching them" Darin stood up and glanced at the sun. " Go back to keep an d follow them, if they make camp, return and we will take care of them, if they move on, keep watch untill you are sure they are far from our land. I will inform the others of what is transpiring so everyone will be prepared." Khara nodded and , without another word, left to return to Amarar.

Raeray Goldenlocks watched the two talk and from glance she could see people coming down the path. With the thought that there might be a fight she grabbed her hoopack and jumped out of the bushes. :D

Amarar heard a rustling in the bushes. He didn't want to take his eyes off the road though. It was probably Khara anyway. Amarar kept his eyes carefully on the road until he felt a sharp knife in his back. Turning around he saw another Kagonesti, just like him, though he couldn't remember exactly who this elf was...

OOC: too soon? I have a tendency to do that...

Slowing down Khara noticed something odd, it was too quiet, creeping up slowly she peered over the bushed and some Amarar with another Kagonesti, of which was not of their clan and oddly enough, a kender.

Amarar turned his head a bit and saw also a kender. A sideways glance showed him that Khara was here too. But neither the other Kagonesti nor the kender saw her. Good. Maybe he could escape from that elven attacker somehow.

Amarar quickly averted his eyes from Khara, hoping the other Kagonesti didn't see her.

Creeping as close as the bushes allowed Khara strained to hear what the other elf was saying to Amarar. Looking about quickly she tried to plan how she was going to help Amarar.

"Why are you here?" Amarar asked the other Kagonesti. The elf didn't say a thing. "And why did you-" Amarar faltered - "Why did you attack me?"

"No particular reason," answered the other, now deciding to speak.

As Kashnik walks u pthe path, he sees an odd sight. An elf looking as if he'll attack the elf that's in front of him, another elf creeping up ,and a kender. Four in all. If worst comes to worst, the two of them could take it.
Kashnik looks up at his armed companion.
"What do you think?"

ooc; anyone, jump in and be the second armed person walking up.

Quietly slipping from one vantage point to another Khara circled around the small group.
Reaching a high point she tried to catch Amarar's eye, hoping he would understand she wanted him to tried to steer the other Kagonesti towards her. Coiling her legs under her she got ready to spring, her small dagger fisted in her hand.

Amarar pushed the Kagonesti towards Khara.

Kracsk was on the other side of where Amarar is he knows he has to save his fellow tribesman and not let the other elf be discovered.Well in his tribe he was know for one thing climbing trees jumping them swing on vine basicly he was of ground half the time.Kracsk climbed up the tree he was baced agaist and jumped to the one above them very stealthly he grabed a lose vine and desecened down (spider man style) infront of the other elf quickly josting him in the eyes letting go of the vine and preparing for a fight.

Springing on the other elf Khara clung like a cat to his back with her dagger pressed snuggly against his throat. " I hope I am not disturbing anything here" she said softly.

OOC: motl and you said you weren't good!

Amarar looked in surprise at the new Kagonesti, then relaxed since it was one of their tribe. He backtracked into the lower part of the tree and stabbed upwards with his knife, where the other elf was at.

OOC: the attacker is killable. I'll make sure he's dead if all agree they're finished killing him.

ooc - let's have this elf be a scout for the group that's taking a long time making there way towards us.

bic- Seeing that this elf was now well surounded, Khara slipped off his back and stepped away from him. " What are you doing here: she asked.

"Why should I tell you?" the Kagonesti asked. "I'd rather die."

"Then die you will," muttered Amarar, glancing swiftly at the others to tell him when to strike.

ooc- well seeing as we have at least two Kender with us I don't think they are just standing idely by and watching.....join in guys :)

bic- Shaking her head slightly to Amarar, Khara spoke to the Kagonesti " I have never seen you before, where are you from?" she smiled coldly " and if you won't tell us I will have my Friend ask and he won't be as nice as I am" gesturing towards Amarar

"What do you think?" said the Kagonesti coolly. "And I have watched you long, even knowing everything about you," he continued. "As for death I already told you I don't care."

Staring back into the cold eyes of the Kagonesti, Khara felt a chill race down her spine, a terrible feeling of foreboding came over her. Glancing back at Aramar she wondered if he felt the same. " No fear of death means you have nothing to live for, so I guess you won't mind so much if we have plans for you."

"Plans!?" the Kagonesti snarled. "If you have any then you might as well forget about it! I will suicide right here!" he pulled out a dagger and pushed it against his chest. Amarar cringed and crept a bit away.

Stunned Khara leaped back away from the Kagonesti as he fell against his knife. All of a sudden the wind came up blowing the trees so strongly they swayed alarmingly. Dark clouds covered the sun and darkness arose around them. Looking around slowly Khara edged towards Amarar " What is going on?" she cried.

"I don't know!" Amarar practically shouted above the roar of the wind. "Everyone run for cover! We can meet up again there!" he said, gesturing to their small camp. He ducked under the tree and ran for the destination.

Gracefully leaping onto the path leading to the village, Khara's only thought was to reach her brother Darin. Coming out of the woods she stopped short and fell to her knees. Everything around her was in ruins, not a living soul could be seen. Pushing to her feet she ran past the rubble of homes crying out Darins name but no answer could be heard.

When Amarar returned he saw nothing but desolation and destruction. Their whole camp had been destroyed by some phenomenal force. But as hope slowly faded from him, Amarar thought he saw someone - or something - struggling out of the wreck. He quickly rushed over.

"Dragon bastards."
Kashnik ran up to catch up with Amarar.
"Get down! they might not be gone!"

Amarar gave the other Kagonesti a glance, then called to the struggling elf in the wreck: "Are you alright in there? Who are you?"

Glimpsing movement from the corner of her eye, Khara watched as Amarar raced across the rubble, drop and start to throw peices of rock over his shoulder. As she started to go to help him she heard her name called faintly from underneath a pile of broken branches. Quickley pulling at branches and clumps of earth, she saw her brother Darin's eyes painfully searching for hers. "Darin!" she cried " What happened here?" Clearing off all the debris Khara saw a tree limb protruding form Darin's chest, struggling he whispered " Dragon...." and lifted his finger slightly to point to the north, with a bubbling sigh his hand went limp. Tears streaming dopwn her face Khara gently kissed her brother on the forehead and closed his eyes.

Amarar lowered his eyes sadly to the ground. But then they looked back up in rage and anger. "I'll track down that dragon and slay it if that's the last thing I'll do!" he muttered fiercely. Then turning to Khara he said more gently, "If you want to stay here awhile it's okay. Tell me if you need any more help." Then Amarar went further amongst the wreckage and buried his face in his hands.

BIC: Raeray found the destroyed camp and all the destruction she became very sad for the people and almost started crying. Then she saw the Kagonesti and the kender. To sad to even talk she searched the surroundings for suviours.

Looking around her Khara moved to search through the rubble. Picking up an arrow that she recognized as Darins, a determined look came across her face. " I am going with you" she said to Aramar and began searching for any weapons she may be able to use. " There is nothing left for us here, we will have to leave and in doing so, gather as much as we can to use against the Dragon."

"Great," said Amarar. "Darin said something about the dragon being in the north, so shall we go north?"

He didn't wait for an answer as he continued trekking, under the great canopy of trees.

OOC: Really, I must be off......ALOT!!!
BIC: Raeray watched the two go off and hopeing for an adventure ran after them quickly catching up.

Amarar glanced at the one following them. "Oh hello, who's this?" he stated nonchalantly.

"My name Raeray Goldenlocks," she said sticking out her hand.

"Greetings, Raeray Goldenlocks," said Amarar, shaking Raeray's hand. "What brings you here?"

[raeray]

Bic: "Wanderlust, adventuring stuff like that." Raeray said while fixing her topknot.

bic- Following close behind Amarar, Khara suddenly remembered something Darin had told her years ago..." If there is ever a time I am no longer with you, follow the Suvate River untill you reach the falls, behind the curtain you shall find what you seek." .... Khara had never understood what he meant and had never asked, however the words he had spoken to her all those years past came rushing back to her. " Wait!" she cried to Amarar " I can't go with you. I must do something first."

Khara glanced at Amarar " A Quest" she said simply, and looking down smiled at the Kender " and no my little friend, I don't need someone to keep me out of trouble however my friend here does." Giving Raeray a wink Khara turned to Amarar " If I don't catch up to you in three days, continue with out me, don't wait. Good luck" and with that Khara turned and strode off into the woods in the direction of the river.

Amarar sighed a bit inwardly then continued on. "So why did you come to..us, Raeray?" he asked, as if Khara hadn't left.

"I"m...Amarar," said Amarar. He continued on walking until they came across a small stream, then filled a canteen of water.

BIC: Raeray sat down on a rock by the stream. "Was that place that was destroyed. Was it your home." she said awkwardly(sp).

"Yes," Amarar answered, beguiled.

"You know I've had my house destroyed before. My little sister caught the rug on fire and the next thing I knew the house was up in flames." she said sorrowly her childhood memories of the house coming back to her.

"I'm sorry for that," said Amarar. He finished what he was doing and took to the road again.

BIC: Raeray got up and followed him back on to the road while playing with her topknot again.

BIC: Raeray turned to the other kender. She had forgotten he was there.
"Really, I was born in Hylo but then the house burned up and my family and I moved to Kendermore," Raeray said, "Did you know or have seen Anna Goldenlocks by any chance?" she asked curiously hoping someone had seen her younger sister and knew she was doing fine.

ooc - Hello there, I see we haven't gotten too far so I am going to jump ahead a bit. Let's say a week later....by the way just in case, my bio is Khara Silverwing, an orphaned Kagonesti elf, loner, stubborn and despises humans! :)

bic- Slipping through the woods Khara came upon a small stream where she could refresh herself and wash some of the travel grime off. A small hawk landed on a large rock nearby and watched her. Khara glanced at the hawk " I know, I know" she sighed " I am only stopping for a moment. " Straightening Khara looked at the position of the sun. " I figured I would have caught up to them by now" she thought to herself, smiling at the hawk she said " Shall we go?" and watched as the hawk flew off the rock and headed north.

OOC: wow you took a while! one whole day!

BIC:

Amarar heard some rustling in the bushes (OOC: it's one week later right) and for a moment there he thought it could be Khara. But then he dismissed the notion, fearing lest he be wrong and becoming utterly disappointed.

"Khara, where are you?" he muttered absently as he continued unheedlessly on.

[kenderman]

"Anna Goldenlocks?" Kashniks face pales.
"You haven't heard? Kendrmore was one of the first places struck by dragons. Anna Goldenlocks was among the frst to fall in the front lines."

[raeray]

Raeray stopped and stared at Kashniks' face. No he wasn't lying she decided. Her little sister was dead. The thought brought tears to her eyes. Now all that was left in her family was her older brother she had never met and never even herd the name of, and her. Raeray finally got over the shock, though still crying over her sister's death nomatter how brave or honeralble it was. Raeray started walking again trying to put her sister out of her mind.

Night had fallen by the time Khara came upon a small clearing and with her keen elven sight pick out signs of an old camp, Khara looked around for the signs she knew Amarar would leave for her if it was his camp and picked out a small mark scratched on a rock. Kneeling down to brush away the scattered leaves that covered the remaining ashes of a campfire, Khara felt for any traces of heat in the ashes, no warmth came from the firepit however the ashes were still light and soft as opposed to being thick if the fire had been a few days old. Khara judged she had missed Amarar by a matter of hours. The moonlight filtering from between the trees made the night almost as bright as the day so Khara decided to keep going hoping to catch up with Amarar soon. As she started off, her scilent partner flew above her head, keeping pace every step of the way.

Raeray had finally stopped crying when she saw a hawk flying in the skys above.

bic- Striding quietly through the trees Khara hears an odd snuffling sound. Peering out between the tree branches, she saw a kender crying. Recognizing her as one who went with Amarar, Khara quietly went over to her. " Why are you crying?' she asked softly.

Raeray looked over at Khara whiping her eyes.
"Kashnik told me that my little sister is dead," Raeray managed to say between the tears. Taking out her handkerchief she blew her nose and stuffed it back into that pouch.

Thinking that he had heard some voices behind him, Amarar quickly ducked into the underbrush and saw that it was Raeray and Khara. "Um, so you're here," he said to Khara, a flush heightening his features. Raeray seemed really sad so he offered her a handkerchief, one of the few things he salvaged from the wreck of their village.

OOC: yeah. a handkerchief. I know.

Giving Amarar a warm smile Khara turned and layed a friendly hand on Raeray's shoulder " I know that at the moment it seems the wounds on your heart will never heal, however with enough time the hurt will pass and only a scar will remain." she said softly. After giving Raeray's shoulder a brief squeeze, Khara turned to Amarar " Did you miss me?"

"I missed you more than my heart can tell," Amarar said softly. Then suddenly realizing what he said he quickly added, "Are you ready to go now or do you need to rest?"

bic- Khara felt the warmth of Amarar's words flow through her, stepping close she smiled " I could go on always, with you beside me, however we need to talk " Turning she glanced at Raeray " I don't think Raeray is in any condition to continue tonight, we should rest and start out again in the morning"

OOC: i make you blush? ;) aww...and keep in mind that (if this won't affect the RP) that Amarar sorta likes Khara. that's why he's always...um...different around her.

"Sure thing, Khara," said Amarar, struggling to calm himself down. A heightened flush appeared on his face. "What's wrong with Raeray?" he asked.

ooc - Not a problem...just remember Khara's got major issues as well...:)

bic- " Raeray has recieved word that her sister has perished, I understand how she feels and it will take a little time for her to adjust." Khara turned away from Amarar and with a far off look in her eyes, spoke very softly to herself " A long time to adjust to being alone.." The piercing cry of the hawk jerked her out of her far memories and looking up saw the hawk circling them above. " Shall we return to your camp" she said to Amarar briskly " As I said, there are things we need to discuss."

"Right," said Amarar as he walked back to his old m=camp. The small fire had burned out by then so he got a bit of tinder and wood and made another one. Then he sat down by the fire. "So what matters are there to discuss?" he asked.

ooc- hoo hum...this is getting dull.....time to kick it into high gear!!! Got any ideas? This will be my last post for today as well so I am going to sleep on it tonight and see where we can go with this... your the veteran, what do you think?

bic- Taking a seat on the ground cross legged, Khara arranged the small pouch belted around her waist across her lap. Pulling the drawstrings apart she reached in and held an object in clutched in her hand. " It wasn't a dragon that destroyed our home, although it was there..." Khara said quietly " It was humans!" Holding out her hand, an object shone in the moonlight. The etched emblem of a lily was clearly seen. " Humans have taken everything I hold dear, I have nothing left" she said bitterly. A lone tear trailed down her cheek however when Khara looked into Anarar's eyes her voice was strong " I will not let them get away with this."

OOC: oh ok, thanks :) well here goes....

IC: Jonas approached the small camp fire in the distance quietly, trying not to make a sound. He was glad now for having put on his soft soled leather boots for traveling, instead of continuing to wear his iron shod boots. He had also removed most of his armor save for his breastplate, stealth was a nessecity he had need of. He had been tracking the band of Dark Nights for weeks now, he doubted this was their force, but if it was, he was going to need more every edge he could muster.
Upon closer approach, Jonas began to hear voices. These were not the men he had sought after. It sounded like two elves and....a kender? At this his thoughts turned towards the kender refugees he had seen in past days, the fear in their eyes, a result of the the great red wyrms tyranny. Jonas was brought back from his thoughts by the sound of a female swearing an oath.
"Must be victims of the Dark Nights," he muttered quietly. "Well, we all need allies in these dark times."
Long sword in hand and prepared for whatever result may come, Jonas shouted, "Hello in the camp!?!"

OOC: Just so ya know there or 2 kender I guess Kashnik doesn't talk much

Raeray: Looked up from her little "bed" she made when she heard someone other than Khara, Amarar, and Kashnik.

Resting, Kashnik heard a sound. Leaspng up, he loks around. Seeing nothing he realizes he must confronthis lies. He should't have told the woman her sister was dead. It hurt him to lie, but it would hurt her more if she knew the truth, and then she would hurt him, thinking he was not telling the truth. Looking around, he sees someting that makes his heart skip many beats. A sight that would haunt him for years to come.
It was a dragon.

Raeray heard the flapping of wings and turned around to look at Kashnik who was looking up. Following his gaze she saw a dragon. Dragonfear over took her. Then she remembered what Kashnik told her. No, she would not have the same fate as her little sister. She grabbed Kashnik and pulled him into the brush and then jumped in after him. Her fingers trembled as she fumbled with her Whippack. She found a strong sharp stone. She pulled the whippack back and let the stone fly it hit the wing but did not tear it.

But you haven't lost me! Amarar thought. He wanted to say it so badly but seeing the determined look on her face he decided not to. Instead, he uttered, "I'm with you all the way, unto death maybe." My own death , he thought silently to himself.

Raeray heard someone talking she turned around and saw Amarar. She waved for him to take cover in the brush.

[kenderman]

"Raeray!" Kashnik yelled over the dragon, "there's something you have to know! I don't want this on my consicous if I die! Anna Goldenlocks didn't die! She sold herself into the dark armies of the north! She had the dragon attack my peopple!"

[raeray]

"We're not going to die!!" Raeray screamed while letting another rock fly.

ooc - welcolm to the group " Jonas " :) Glad to have you on board. Assuming you are human please don't take it to heart if Khara isn't very nice to you....

bic- Too many things were happening at once..seeing the hurt look on Amarar's face Khara realized he thought she was directing her anger at him but before she could assure him she heard a stange voice hail the camp. Whirling to confront the stranger, a scream sounded behind her and rocks started flinging over her head. Looking up Khara saw a large dark shape block out the moon's light and then the dragonfear washed over her and it was too late.

As Amarar saw the shadow he felt the dragonfear overtake him. The Kagonesti elf just stayed there and couldn't find the power to move. He felt mad at himself for cowering but there was nothing he could do about it. Amarar really hoped that Khara wasn't affected by the dragonfear as much, so she could escape somehow.

[raeray]

Khara and Amarar where overtaken by dragonfear as Raeray could see. "Kashnik go help Khara." Raeray said hoping that he heard her. Raeray then ran over to Amarar and grabbed his arm and tugging on it to tell him to move when the dragon started in a head first dive.

Amarar felt someone tugging at his arm but he couldn't bring himself to move. "Leave me," he muttered unnecessarily, but then suddenly he took a few steps back, and the dragon crashed right in front of him, severing one of the elf's arms but otherwise it was a futile attempt.

OOC: confusing post?

"No!" Kashnik yelled, watching the dragonattack.

[raeray]

Raeray was able to pull Amarar back a little bit but couldn't pull him very far. Then she remembered Kashnik and Khara. Then there was the dragon. The dragon would pay she thought. Running back to her suff she saw Kashnik. Choking on the debris she ran to him.

IC: Jonas felt the dragonfear wash over him as all the commotion began. He swore an oath to a god he knew could no longer hear him for not paying more attention to the skies. Having delt with dragons as enemies and allies, he was able to maintain his focus long enough to derive a strategy. He cursed himself for leaving his bow with his mount which was now to far back to retrieve.
"I wont allow another group of innoccents to perish," he thought angrily.
Boasting his courage he ran into the fray grabbing a log from the fire in his off hand and flinging it at the draconic brute, hoping to distract the beast long enough for the others to regain their wits and escape. Though it had found its mark, the fiery log bounced harmlessly off the skull of the dragon. The dragon turned it's evil gaze towards Jonas.
"That worked well," Jonas thought to himself. Hoping to strike before the dragon could turns its full length in his direction, Jonas let loose a Solomnic war cry and cleaved a gash in the maw of the beast. Before he could recover from his attack the dragon made a swipe with its tail catching Jonas in the shoulder, sending him flying into the brush. Left dazed from the attack Jonas could only lie there waiting for death on wings to take him.

Amarar ran over to Raeray as he clutched his bleeding arm. He grabbed her with his other arm and was surprised to find how heavy she was. "I thought kender were light," he muttered as he tried to drag her.

OOC: and this time I don't think raeray will kick or punch me!

Raeray felt someone dragging her. She didn't remember seeing Khara and didn't know what had happened to Kashnik and Khara. She shook her head got up and turned to Amarar. "I'll distract the dragon you go make sure Kashnik and Khara are ok and then fix that arm of yours."

Jonas's head finally cleared enough for him to reach a knee. As he moved to stand he knew from the sharp pain in his left arm that is was broke. He searched the nearby ground for his longsword which lay not far away. Managing to stand, he picked up the sword and turned his attention back to the fray. The dragon he could see was intent on something outside the light of the fire. Afraid that the dragons prey was another frozen by the dragonfear, he moved between it and the dragon.
"We cant keep this up forever," he said as he stood poised for an attack, his left arm hanging useless at his side.

*** the dragon swooped closer, Kashnik looked at it's rider, recognizingthe face, he smiled and ran from cover.
"Erm-By-Gore! Stop!"
The dragon stopped and setled to land.

Jonas's eyes shot from the dragon to the kender, back to the dragon. Though bewildered by the turn of events, he hastened to lower his sword.

Khara had been frozen by the dragonfear that had overcame her but the mighty wind created by the dragon's massive wingspan threw her to the ground and out of the dragon's vicinity. Pushing up off the ground she paused, taking in the situation before deciding what to do next. The cry of the hawk caused Khara to jerk her gaze skyward, diving down at the dragon the hawk aimed for the great beasts eyes and blinded it useing his sharp claws. The dragon roared in fury and pain, rearing back it lashed out with tail and claws. Khara hurried over to Amarar and Raeray, pulling them into the bushes, she quickly tore her thin shirt to pieces to bind Amarar's wound and slow down the bleeding. Hearing a cry from behind, Khara looked over her should and watched as a human rushed at the dragon then stop just as suddenly, lowering his weapon.

Seeing the hawk dive in and attack the dragon, Jonas took the opportunity to grab the nearby kender who was hollering at the dragon. He lifted the small fellow under his sword arm and dashed into bushes narrowly escaping the another thrash from the dragons tail. Once safely out of its reach, he set the squirming kender down and asked,"So do you always fight dragons after supper?"

Khara watched as the human picked up Kashnik and ran with him under his arm. They were narrowly missed from being squashed by the dragons tail as it thrashed around still being harried by the hawk. The dragons rider had been securely strapped into the dragonseat, however the straps were starting to come loose. Khara waited until the dragon had turned away from her and sprang out of the bushes. " Filthy Beast!" she yelled as she used her dagger to saw away the straps holding the rider to the dragons back. As the dragon turned her way once more, Khara leaped back to avoid being struck and watched with satisfaction as the rider tumbled from the dragon.

Hearing scattered cries from behind him, Jonas turned just in time to see the rider fall from the dragons back. Seeing this as an opportunity to gain an upper hand on the situation, he decided to try and take the rider hostage while he was still disoriented from the fall. As he made his way around the thrashing dragon, he came to the rider who was now trying to crawl away from the fight. With a hard shove, Jonas placed his boot the riders back pushing him back to the ground, then kicked him over to place the tip of his sword under his chin.
Nearly exhausted now, it was all Jonas could do to maintain his footing. The thought crossed his mind that this could back fire. Perhaps the dragon wasnt loyal to his rider and would just as soon see him dead as the rest of them. "Only one way to find out," thought Jonas.
"Call off your dog," he said to the helmed rider,"before someone gets hurt."

Raeray shok with fear of the dragon when she turned her gaze to the helmed warrior she saw two eyes one was blue the other was half blue the other half green. "Stop, don't do anything!!!," She yelled at the knight while rushing over to the helmed warrior she said to the officer."Do you reconize me?" She asked hoping he did if not then it couldn't be him.

ooc- Maybe I missed it before what color the dragon is, so bear with me if I get it wrong...:)

bic- Khara heard a strange rumbling sound coming from the thrashing red dragon, the smell of sulphur was getting stronger and she realized the dragon was getting ready to release it's fire breath. Taking a deep breath for courage, Khara ran in front of the great beast and waited for the opportune time. The dragon lifted it's mighty head and opened it's mouth to spew forth it's fire but before it could release it's fire, Khara threw her dagger with all her strenght straight into the dragon's throat.

Raeray was almost to the masked warrior when she saw Khara throw the dagger and hit the dragon on the throat the head fell right next to her and the dust chocked her and burned her eyes. She tried to scream but she just ended up coughing out the dirt that hed gathered in her mouth. She coudn't breath. She started crawling away from th e debris but couldn't go any farther. She layed down on the ground where there was less debris and tried to hang on to conciousness.

When the dust settled, Khara saw that the dragon had choked on it's own fire breath, her dagger had prevented the beast from letting loose his flames. Dead, it's massive head blocked Khara from seeing where the rest of her companions were located. Calling out she waited for a reply.

Raeray's eyes stung when she tried to open them she could tell that the debris had settled but now she was covered in dirt. She heard Khara call so she tried to answer but she instead started coughing again.

[Kyra Starleaf]

Listening for a reply Khara heard the muffled sound of coughing, useing the sound as a beacon Khara searched for her friends. Spying Raeray, Khara hurried over to help her up. Brushing at the dirt and debris that covered Raeray, Khara asked " Are you alright?"

[raeray]

"Yeah," Raeray said finnally having stopped coughing,"I think so, nice aim." Raeray said trying to keep her mind off of the dragon fear.

" I don't know." replied Khara. " How do you feel? Are you strong enough to look for them, I must tend to Amarar's arm." Lending a supporting hand to Amarar she walked them over the side of the clearing.

"Yeah I feel better I'll go looking for them," Raeray said limping off toward the dead dragon.

bic- Khara watched Raeray limp off, checking to make sure she really was o.k. before laeding Amarar to a tree. Helping him to sit with his back agaisnt the trunk, Khara checked the makeshift bandages she had wrapped around his wound.

A rustling sounded overhead and looking up Khara saw the hawk land on a branch directly above them. Khara smiled and giving Amarar's shoulder a friendly pat, pushed to her feet. " I am going to help Raeray" she said and started to walk away. " Look after him my friend." she said to the hawk. It squawked in return then flew to the ground to perch near Amarar's feet.

Spying Raeray with Kashnik moving towards the spot where Amarar and the hawk were waiting, Khara decided to see what had become of the dragon rider. 'Hopefully he has been squashed by the dragon's body.' she thought. Khara spied movement and saw the dragonrider on the ground and what looked like a human with his sword at the throat of the dragonrider.

Class: Swordswoman/rogue
Race: Elven
Appearance: She has Beautiful blonde hair that reaches her mid-back and dazzeling green eyes.
Clothes: She always wears a short skirt that goes halfway down her thighs made of doe skin and a green shirt woven out of the finest of materials that is sleeveless and covers her breasts and stops inches before her belly-button. She wears brown doe skin boots that go up to her knees and fold over. A green cape with a hood stretches down and conceals her weapons from onlookers.
Weapons: Many daggers all of elven making, twin swords with elven writing on the beautiful blades, and some posion and etc, standard issue for Rogues. Aswell as a completely wooden staff.
History: Her mother was an elf and so was her father. Her father was a mage and her mother was a druid. They were both killed when she was young and she was taken away by the mercanery that killed them. The mercanary trained her to be an awesome mercanery, but she killed the human woman at the age of 97 elven years. Now she is at 127 elven years and kills for money, although the new dragon wars have been giving her alot more buisness, she travels to try and help the helpless.

BIC:

The Young Elf rides into the small town and demounts her horse. The hood pulled over her head and still concealing her weapons. Her swords are easily holstered at he back and two daggers were in her hands incase one of the drunk onlookers. She walks a while after she tie down her horse. She follows some noises she hears and quietly stands leaning on a tree watching a battle going on.
I must help them She thought to herself I must...
She Flips back her hood to reveal herself and pulls the cape completely off, sending it onto the ground. She draws her sword and smiles. She chose not to wear armor, she never wears armor. If she is stabbed, she is stabbed. Rogues were supposed to be stabbed and beaten up every once and a while, although, it rarely happened to Atrina. She stepped forward with caution, twirling her swords around as she looked into the forest around her, Someone was watching this and waiting for a move, She glanced around, red auras were being shown, but someone in the forest was trying to conceal themselves from her sight.
"Damn."
She quickly walks frward and looks around once more. She slips behind a tree and walks slowly through the forest. A russle in the bushes sets off her attention and she quickly slips her swords back on her sheeths attached to her back.She draws a daggers and with great force, Atrina hurls it at the beast running, almost instantly killing it. She runs over to it and pulls her dagger out. It was stained with blue blood and she sighed as she slipped it back into its place on her body. She sprints through the forest once more and looks again at the battle, she knew one of the "good guys" saw her and she knew they would do something to signal when it was o.k. to help.
So I wait. She said to herself sighing again.
She stood waiting what was that beast and why was it running....
She didn't care, but she promised she would kill whoever tryed to oppose her.

ooc- Hello Atrina, and sure you can join in...the more the merrier, however I think you have both raeray and myself a little confused, I don' t know if you read our previous posts but we are not in a town, we are in alittle camp in the woods headed north ( where excatly..not sure yet :)) There are 2 kender, 2 kagonesti elves and a human. We have just battled a dragon and at the moment have the dragonrider captive. I am going to try to weave what you posted into the current situation and we will go from there.

bic- Waiting untill Khara was sure Amarar had the human covered, Khara stepped back to decide the next course of action. Spying movement from the corner of her eye, Khara spotted another elf standing in the bushes. Noting this newcomer was not of the Kagonesti, Khara was instantly on the defensive. First a dragon, then a human, now an elf she thought to herself What next? "Come out and show yourself!" she cried.

I dont think I ever posted my chars info so heres a brief description. He an older man, with mostly gray long tied back hair, a salt and pepper beard, numerous scars, one bruise not more that a week old on the side of his face. He's tall, well built, but definetly up there in his age. He wears armor not of a Solomnic knight, but his actions declare that he his or once was one.

BIC: Jonas stood perplexed and unmoving. He was breathing deeply, pain and exhaustion had nearly overtook him. Still, with a broken arm he stood over the dragonrider, sword at his throat. His attention not being elsewhere he hardly noticed the elves encircle him. Hell, had he been paying attention there still would have been nothing he could do. All he wanted to do now was sit down, but he didnt move. Slowly he turned his head to look at one elf then the next and finally down to the kender where he couldnt help but smile. He then heard sounds coming from the opposite direction and as he turned he saw another elf appear on the scene.
" I think would have had better luck dealing with the dragon." said Jonas wearily.

Amarar tensed, straightening his pitch for a thrown dagger. He edged closer until the man was in full range.

Having had just about enough excitment for one night, Jonas stepped away from the group and turned to face them. He let his gaze fall on Khara. He stood staring at her for a moment, then walked over and knelt down by the remains of the campfire.
"I hear dragon makes a pretty good stew, if you can get past the smell. Oh for Paladines sake!" he snapped at Khara,"Put that thing away before you hurt someone. And tell your man to back off too." he said as he poked the fire with his sword. "If I had been a threat to you, I would have left you to the dragon. Honestly..." he shook his head then whinced as sharp pain stung his arm. "Ah..." he said through clenched teeth, "if one of you would be so kind as to tear a strip from my cloak, I would appreciate it. You know having a broken arm and all makes it hard for one to tend ones own wounds." he said as he eyed the group hopefully.

Raeray rolled her eyes and turned the Kagonesti.
"He's right you know," Raeray said to them."And if he betrays us he's the one out numbered. I'm going to help him you can just sit there and whine or somthing." She said waving her hand in the air while turning back to the man.
Raeray walked over to the man and bant down. Then she took a fim hold of the man's cloak and tore a long piece off and wraped it firmly around his arm and tied it behind his neck.

"It's always the smallest among us that have the biggest hearts." thought Jonas as the kender worked on his wrappings.
"Many thanks small one. Feels like a clean break, should heal nicely on its own." Jonas said as he adjusted his arm in the sling. "Oh, if you happen to find anything that I might have dropped anywhere around here, I would appreciate having it back." he said with a smile as he extended his hand to the kender, "I'm Jonas, by the way."

Raeray blushed because of his kindness. "I'm Raeray Goldenlocks." she said shaking hands with Jonas.

"A pleasure Mistress Goldenlocks," Jonas said as he clasped the kenders hand. As he released it he began to stand and released a deep sigh of relief. "Ahw....now that I've had a breather, I say the rest of the introductions can be held for later," he said as he looked at the elves and sheathed his sword. "Other business calls our attention. What are we gonna do with that?" he said indicating the unconcious dragonrider.

Raeray shrugged,(this is the part when somebody new joins!!!) "I don't know," Raeray said sitting down on a nearby log.

bic- Khara glared at the human as he made his way over to the burned out campfire, she felt a twinge of sympathy for Jonas's wounds but quickley tamped the feeling down. Muttering angrily to herself she went to one of the packs of supplies and withdrew a small coil of rope. Returning to the dragonrider, she made sure he was still unconsious (sp) before making quick work of binding his hands behind him. With the dragonrider secured Khara looked over at the small group clustered around Jonas, not wanting to be near the human, she searched for the hawk. Finding it perched on a limb overhead, she knew it wouldn't have gone far, she gestured towards the woods then made her way to the small stream they had camped near.

Jonas watched as Khara walked off alone. He turned to look at the motely crew. Seeing that all were about as confused as he was at the situation, he decided to go find his mount. He walked out through the woods not far and found his loyal steed, Rufus. Rubbing his horses muzzle he took the reins in his good hand and began to lead it back to the group. Oddly though he found himself heading in the same direction as Khara had.
As he came upon the stream he saw her kneeling by the bank, staring into the water. He walked up closer to her. "Call me crazy," he said with smirk,"but that "I hate your guts and livers" look you gave me back there makes me think you dont like humans very much. Or is it just personal distaste for me you have acquired?" he asked as he wiped the sweat from his brow.

Looking into the peaceful waters of the stream, Khara was lost in thought. It went against all she believed in to let a human into her world. Somehow she would have to get rid of him, ' As soon as his wounds heal' she thought to herself ' once he is sufficently recovered, he will either leave on his own or I will make him leave' . She wouldn't drive him out now for she valued life as all elves do and to sent him on his way while injured could lead to his death should he be set upon by enemies. As deep in thought as she was, Khara missed hearing Jonas come up behind her, and hearing his voice she stiffened slightly. ' Stupid!' she thought. Slowly turning to face him, Khara sent him a look that would have withered another man, however Jonas just shrugged it off. " I have cause to hate humans...that's all you need know." she hissed. Angrily she walked away from him further down stream. " Just stay away from me human, if you value your hide!" she said harshly. Khara hurried away from Jonas intending to take a swim in the deep end of the stream to cool off before returning to the rest of her companions.

Raeray could tell Khara didn't like humans. But she couldn't exactly blame her for that since they supposedly destroyed her home. Raeray decided to sit back down on her blanket and relax for a while.Her mind went back to the dragonfear. Raeray involuntarily shuddered. She had heard rumors about theese "afflicted" kender, kender who had been attacked by or seen evil dragons. But she was a kender right? It had to be fear she thought sadly. Now I'm one of thoose afflicted kender, and so is Kashnik!! She realized that suddenly. She could feel the smile of excitement fade from her face the more she thought about it. Raeray sighed fixed up her pouches as a pillow and laid back down.

Khara continued upstream away from Jonas with the hawk keeping pace every step of the way. Shortly they came upon a small pool formed by a large rock at the egde of the stream, the water was still and deep, perfect spot for washing the dust and dirt off a weary elf. The hawk settled on the rock and looked around. Khara peeled off what remained of her tunic after tearing it to bandage Amarar's arm, and dipping it into the water tryed unsuccessfully to wash the dirt off. Once the tunic was spread on some nearby bushes to dry Khara looked to the hawk " Keep watch, I am going to wash off some of this grime." The hawk made a soft sound which Khara took as an affirmative then slipped out of her leggings and waded into the water. After fully submerging so she could rinse out her long auburn hair, Khara began to talk to the hawk. " You know I have hated humans all my life and now I am supposed to allow one of them to accompany me in our travels? It goes against everything! " she said, her green eyes flashing. " Still..there is something about this human..isn't there." she muttered softly.

Jonas watched Khara run off further down stream. Once she was out of sight he shook his head slightly and looked out over the stream to the far bank, then to the sky.
"Daylights a'comin and we ain't had no sleep. Nor are we likely to get any." he said as his horse nudged him with his muzzle. Jonas laughed, "But I think a little breakfast would do us some good." Rufus threw his head back in appreciation. "Come on boy," he said as he began to walk back to the others.
Once back to the camp Jonas removed his saddle and gear. He dumped out some oats he had brought for Rufus. "Someone ought to go with that girl. No telling who else is around here. Also I've got a few rations if anyone else his hungry." he said while he brushed down his mount.

At the mention of food Raeray's head bolted up her eyes open fully awake and alert. Though she felt wierd after the dragonfear she could feel the smile back on her face. Her stomach had been growling since even before the dragon attacked and after all that she was starving.

Jonas laughed at the site of the kender bolting up at the mention of food. Still smiling he went around to his pack and pulled out a few pieces of jerked beef and some dried fruit.
"Here you go," he said handing the rations to Raeray. After having done that, he eased himself onto the ground, careful not to jostle his arm to much. He leaned up against his saddle and munched on a strip of beef. "Fighting dragons gives one quite an appetite, doesnt it?" he said to the kender, a smirk on his face, as he watched her eat heartily.

Raeray smiled and nodded trying to hold back a giggle knowing that if she did the man would have food over all of his face. Raeray finished the dried fruit stuffing the last piece in her mouth.
"Where did Khara go?" Raeray asked curiously wondering where she was.

[Kyra Starleaf]

" I'm right here!" said Khara as she stepped back into camp. Water dripped from her hair onto her slightly damp tunic. " I took a bath." She smiled at Raeray " Were you worried about me?" Walking over she bent down to check on Amarar, he hadn't moved since she left and she was little concerned. " I also went looking for something to help with our wounds." Pulling out some wild herbs she had found by the stream bank, she rubbed them between her palms to mash them together then removed the bandages from Amarar's shoulder and applied the herbs. Rewrapping his wound, Khara was satisfied that she had done all she could for him. Getting up Khara then went over to her pack and rummaged through untill she came up with her own rations. Looking at the pitiful supply Khara sighed then stole a quick glance at the amount of food the others were eating, knowing it must have come from Jonas's supplies Khara refused to let the other's see how hungry she was. Hastily swallowing down a few pieces of dried fruit she picked up her cloak, wrapped herself in it and went to laydown near Raeray, totally ignoring Jonas.

"A bath?" Raeray said considering,"Thats a good idea, I think I'll go take one." Raeray said taking out her summer pair of clothes. She then dashed off toward the strea. She sheaded her clothes and jumped in having lots of fun splashing around while making sure all the dirt and grime was off. She then stepped out and slipped her blue short tank top that almost relvealed to much but yet didn't reveal everything and her short purple shorts. Raeray then started heading back when she saw another camp down stream. Curious she came to look at the camp. She walked up and saw some dark knights. Jumping down into a brush she looked and watched. But she didn't notice the dark knight come up behind her. The knight grabbed her by her hair and pulled it up. She let out a loud long shreik.

Despite the pain it caused, Jonas jumped to his feet and drew his sword in one swift motion at the sound of the shriek.
"Thats gotta be Raeray," he said softly as his eyes scanned the darkness in the direction of the scream. Another scream came, followed by voices he couldnt make out. Quickly Jonas dropped to his gear and removed his short bow and quiver. He threw the two in Kharas direction and said,"Were gonna need these. Wait here." He didnt give Khara the chance to reply before he made his way silently through the woods.

"What are you doing here you little cutpurse," the knight said insulting the kender,"Spying perhaps, for who. Kender?"
"I'm not a spy you Evil Ouch, that was my hair" Raeray let out the highest shreik she could trying to hurt the knight's eardrum. The knight winced but barely loosened his grip. Twisting around to face the knight Raeray kicked him in the shin as hard as she could. The knigh let go and grabbed his shin. Raeray ran for though still being chased by many knights. She got out her hoopack just in case and kept on running back toward camp about 10 dark knights following her.

Khara picked up the weapons Jonas tossed in her direction knowing that there was no one to defend Amarar and kashnik, she stayed to defend them. That's the only reason I am staying, not because of what that human says she thought. He was good she had to admit, she could barely hear him as he made his way through the woods. Suddenly she did hear something, there was thrashing and shreaking coming her way! Raeray burst into the camp with Dark Knights right behind her, notching an arrow into the short bow, Khara let loose and the Knight who was just about to grab Raeray fell to the ground. There was no time to reload the bow, Khara had just raised the sword to block another Knight's swing which was aimed at her head before she heard a familiar battle cry. "It's about time!" she yelled as Jonas came out of the woods.

Jonas crept quickly through the woods, trying to make as little noise as possible. He didnt like the idea of not knowing who or what it was that had the little kender making such a racket.
Jonas then heard a scream that he knew could not have come from the kender, but from a man. Commands were shouted and Jonas could hear the clanking of armor as if someone were running...or chasing he thought to himself. Jonas swore an oath to himself. In his present condition he knew he'd be no match for mutiple combat and it was clear that the group was out numbered. A thought occurred to him at that moment that they all shared the same disadvantage. Those in pursuit did not know if they were out numbered and that might be useful information. Just then a small figure came running by nearly knocking Jonas off balance. Using that momentum Jonas hugged up next to a tree and waited not long for the first pursuer to come around. As he did Jonas smacked him in the face with the flat of his sword and the knight reeled, falling back from the blow. Even in the dark he could make out that it was a dark knight and he quickly shouted commands. "All right men! We have them surrounded! The first Nerakkan to move will find that even in the dark, an archer at this range cant miss." At this the rest of the knights stopped in their tracks.

Raeray swung her hoopack at another knight that awas coming toward her and hit it on the head and plunged the hoopack into the knight. She then was grabbed by her topknot again by another knight. Just like last time she twisted around and kicked the knight in the shin really hard but this knight didn't let go. Raeray then poked the knight in the eyes.This time the knight let go. Raerat then took out a dagger and plunged it into the knight.

As the Knight she was battleing crumpled to the ground Khara pulled the sword from his body and looked for another opponent. The knights were standing in a tight circle, their backs to one another looking into the surrounding woods. Khara stood ready and whispered to Raeray " Are you alright?"

A knight from the group began to approach Khara and Raeray when he was suddenly struck in the head by a rock. The knight fell back in line with the others, rubbing his head, as Jonas walked into view. "I told you not to move. Your lucky my men have steady hands otherwise you would be dead. We've already killed one of your dragons tonight and taken his rider hostage. 10 knights wont be a challenge to a plattoon of Solamnic Knights with shortbows, all aimed at your heads." he said a smirk on his face and his sword poised.

" Surrender your weapons!" Khara called out harshly her eyes flashing. Tense she waited to see if they would do as she commanded. What are we going to do now she thought to herself First the dragonrider and now dark knights, how many prisoners can we take before we become prisoners ourselves?

Raeray just stood there. She knew the plan. And she knew that if it failed it was her fault. Stupid curiousity, she thought, that was what caused all this just a kenders curiousity. Raeray looked up at the knights then and watched as afew of them put down their weapons. A few didn't.

Jonas was suprised by the emotion in Khara's shout though he didnt show it outwardly. "Best do as the lady says gents. Hate to do any killin' before breakfast you know. Makes the eggs taste sour and all. Oh and while your at it, you'd best remove your armor as well." The knights hesitated but then reluctantly began to do as they were told.

As the knights began to throw down their weapons and taking off their armor, Khara slowly started to circle around to the packs. When she reached them she pulled out the remaining coil of rope and tossed it to the nearest knight. " Start binding hands and make it fast!"

Raeray was still just standing there hoping this wasn't going to be to much trouble.
OOC: I know it's short.

Jonas came to stand close to the knights as the one was busy binding the others hands and feet. "All right Linus, we're gonna..No! you damned fool stay where you're at. That goes for all you men!" commanded Jonas as he looked around the encampment. He turned to the group of dark knights and said,"Of all the wetnose knights in Solamnia..." and rolled his eyes. Jonas then walked over to Khara and Raeray his back to the knights and whispered,"Pack your gear on my horse and be ready to mount up." Turning back to the knights he yelled in all directions,"Ok men, see to that these knights dont move until I get back."

Raeray deciding that her stuff would be to much for the horse and everything put her pouches on and put her hoopack away. She than went up to his horse calmed it down and mounted it.
OOC: This is lame...I don't know how to mount a horse!!!!

It galled Khara to take orders from a human however knowing they didn't stand a chance if the knight's realized there was no one surrounding them she grit her teeth and did as Jonas asked. Suddenly she stopped, eyes wide she turned to where Amarar was lying and seeing that he was hidden in the shadows wondered if any of the knight had taken notice of him yet. Leaving Raeray beside Jonas's horse, Khara slipped around the other side out of sight of the knights and circled around the bushes untill she came upon the spot behind Amarar. Parting the bushes as quietly as she could Khara dragged him backwards out of the immediate area. Due to loss of blood he had lost consiousness and Khara hoped he would remain so untill the knights were gone. Spying a hollowed out log covered in moss, she dragged his inert form over and as gently as she could hid him inside. Trailing vines covered the opening so the inside and therefore Amarar was not visable, Khara then returned as fast as she could to Raeray and Jonas.

Jonas turned to Raeray and Khara, never knowing Khara had left, he holstered his sword and took the reins in his good hand. "Mount up, I'll lead him for a bit so he can get used to you. If by some chance this fails, just kick him in the flanks, he'll get you outta here." whispered Jonas as he began to walk to horse away into the brush. Dawn would be upon them soon, and then their ruse would definetly be over. He wanted to get them as far away as possible before that happened. Jonas sped up a little.

bic- Khara sat stiffly on the horse, Raeray in front of her, she wasn't used to riding. Keeping a watchful eye on the knights she waited for them to come after them. Glancing down at Jonas, Khara couldn't help but be impressed and a little ashamed of her behavior towards him. " If you think I am just going to ride off without you, your wrong." she said in a quiet voice, " If it hadn't been for your quick thinking, it would have been us captured and I owe you for that." Once they were out of sight of the knights Khara slid off the horse " Follow me quickly!" and dashed off onto the woods. Living all her life in the woods she knew the signs to look for and soon came upon a deer trail that made a wide circle and crossed the stream much farther south to where their camp had been. Waiting for Jonas and Raeray to catch up Khara looked to the north " Just as I wouldn't leave you behind" she said to them " I am not leaving Amarar behind."

ooc- I don't know your real name :) and I hope you don't mind me taking liberties with your character, you know stuffing him into a tree and all, I don't want to step on your toes or anything, I just didn't want you to be captured! :) Then again, it might not have helped! ;)

bic- Not close enough to the camp to see or hear what was going on Khara called softly to the hawk, looking for it. The pinkening sky overhead made for a good backdrop and soon she saw the dark shape of the hawk gliding towards her. Waiting while it found a perch, Khara approached and whispered soft words. After a few moments the hawk took flight once more heading in the direction of the camp. Returning to Raeray and Jonas, Khara wearily took a seat on the ground, gesturing for the others to join her. " I asked my friend to watch over our guests and return when it is safe to go back." she said softly. Looking at her two companions Khara knew none of them could go much further without rest " We should rest here untill the hawk returns, I will keep watch." Then reaching into her pack Khara withdrew the rest of the wild herbs and passed them to Jonas " For your wounds." she said simply then got up and climbed into a large tree, sitting on a sturdy limb so she could keep an eye out.

Raeray fiddled with her topknot, her hair really hurt from being pulled so much. She finnally pulled her topknot out and let her long golden hair drape over her shoulders. She then realized what was bothering her. Where was Kashnik. She glanced around she couldn't see him but then she was in a dense forest while it was still a little bit dark.

Khara leaned back against the tree, more comfortable than she would be on the ground, and replayed events in her mind. A little over a week had passed since the attack on her village and they had been moving steadily north. Khara began to wonder if the group of Knights they had just fled from were of the same group that attacked her home, the figures added up, it seemed more than just a coincidence(sp). Brushing her hair away from her eyes, she chewed on her bottom lip as she concentrated on what should be the next course of action.

Raeray tried to get to sleep but she couldn't with the sun coming up already. She drank some water and read a book she had found while visiting a mage. It was really fasinating. It showed everything about magic. She decided to learn magic, maybe she'd like it she thought. Anyway, it ws a way to keep herself occupied without getting them in to even more trouble.

bic- The sun came up fully, the day was going to be a beautiful one. Khara was still in the tree listening as the world came awake. The birds started to sing, their music filling the air, a peaceful surrounding. Khara closed her eyes breathing in the beauty trying to calm the frantic thoughts swirling in her mind, worries about Amarar and Kashnik (who knew where that kender had gotten off too), disturbing thoughts of dark knights, feeling the weight of responcibilities. Mostly she tried not to think about Jonas. Khara had hated humans for as long as she could remember, all of her memories of human contact ended in horror. First her mother, raped and murdered by mercenaries, human hunters and settlers destroying the woods and animals, finally the death of her brother Darin. Slitting her eyes open she studied Jonas, from his actions so far, he had proved himself different from the others of her experience. He saved my life and the lives of my friends she thought I owe him a debt of gratitude however I shall not trust him, he is after all a human

bic- The hawk flew on silent wings towards the camp now over run with Dark Knights, who had gotten loose of their bonds within moments of the companions leaving. Two Knights came into view, the ones that had been scouting the surroundings and reported no signs of a Solamnic platoon. Untieing the dragon rider they then proceeded to search the belongings that had been left behind as well as the surrounding areas. The hawk landed softly on a branch over looking the camp and watched as the kinghts edged closer and closer to where Amarar lay injured and hidden.

ooc- Now you can decide what is going to happen from here... ;)

Amarar stayed still and silent, but quickly grabbed a leaf blade and blew through it, making a shrill high note that practically hovered in the air for a moment. Not silent anymore, his remaining hand grabbed the dagger and readied to throw.

OOC: Raeray helps Kyra out of the lake climbs up the tree and jumps down with no reason at all. The chances of my little kender( :D ) really being able to do magic is really small, she may be able to do one spell at most and it would be a really easy one ya know.
BIC: Raeray had now decided that magic was very confusing and that she should stick to music being har main talent she thought glancing at her bigest pouch that she kept her trumpet, flute, and violin in. She considered herself a good singer but it was more of a hobby than a talent. Raeray was getting very tired but she worried very much for Amarar and the other kender.
OOC: music makes more sence, how that help with anything i have no idea so don't ask.

ooc- music sounds good and any post is good, I believe I now have the permanent imprint of the tree on my bottom now waiting for all of you... ;)

bic- The hawk lifted off at the shrill sound of Amarar's call. Circleing the camp from the sky it watched as a group of armed dark knights approached where Amarar was hidden. Other dark knights spread out in formation, from the looks of it intending to search out the others that had escaped. Khara, Raeray and Jonas were too far away too hear Amarar's call and were unaware of anything transpiring. The hawk reclaimed it's perch and watched the scene as it unfolded. It would do as it was asked and report back once it was safe to return, the hawk had no loyality to Amarar, only to it's mistress. Khara would learn Amarar's fate once the hawk returned to her.

Raeray had had enough with the worring. "I'm going to go look for Amarar and Kashnik." Raeray announced while putting her topknot back on.

[Kyra Starleaf]

Khara jumped out of the tree at Raeray's words. " Wait Raeray, I know you are worried, I am as well, however we will not be able to help our friends untill we know what is going on. My friend will return when it is safe, if we are captured by the knights, all is lost!" Khara put a friendly hand on Raeray' s shoulder " Just a little longer, if my friend does not return shortly on his own I shall call for him."

Raeray flipped her hair over and sat back down and took out her mouthpiece to her trumpet and sucked on it. She was more worried than ever before. She had to know where they were and if they were safe. She let her topknot fall over her face and she then laid down and thought about music and if she wanted to go home soon, see her old friends begin the band they always wanted to start. She missed home. She missed her friends. She was worring not just for Amarar and Kashinik but for her other friends, the one's she had from her childhood.

Khara started to pace, the hawk was taking a long time to return to them. Raeray's feelings were now starting to infect Khara as well and she also began to believe they should set out to look for Kashnik and Amarar, surely the dark knights were gone by now, she thought a line of worry creasing her forehead. Khara looked to the skies, hopeing she would see the hawk gliding on the thermals towards them.

ooc- I gotta go for now but i will be back online in about an hour...hopefully everyone else will be on as well.. :)

OOC: I hope they'll be on, I'm going to practice the trumpet for real until then.
BIC: Raeray could tell Khara was worried to. Raeray didn't care about the evil knights. what if they were in trouble? what if she could help them? Raeray looked up at Khara again. Raeray knew that if the hawk didn't return soon she would go.

Scanning the skies Khara hoped the hawk would return soon, she didn't want to recall it just in case it was gaining usefull information the companions could use. Tired, she walked over and sat down beside Raeray and Jonas and decided to take stock of the supplies she had with her. She had picked up a fallen sword from one of the dark knights, and although she could handle a sword very well, it was not her weapon of choice, she had used many of the arrows she had brought with her from the village and she knew they didn't have time to make new ones, this made her long bow useless for the moment, cleaning the sword with yet another strip torn off her tunic, Khara wondered how they were going to replenish their supplies. if this keeps up, not only are we not going to have food and weapons she thought I will not have any clothes on my back either . With a sigh she pulled her cloak around herself more tightly and looked to the skies once more.

Raeray noticed Khara's lack of supplies. She had lot's of spare clothes thought none of them could probably fit her. Raeray also noticed that she was not god at swordsmanship seeing that she handeled the sword all wrong. Raeray took of one of her pouches and found her spare whippack. Raeray knew she was good with arrows maybe she'd be better with this."Here, this might be better for you," Raeray said handing over the whippack and her little pouch of sharp stones.

Khara smiled at Raeray "Thank you but no, you may need them yourself. I have a few arrows left and I can handle a sword, if I have to." Laying the sword down after wiping the blade clean, Khara glanced around at Jonas then quickly averted her gaze, her expression thoughtfull.

OOC: hehe, sorry if I am a little lost on the post, been gone awhile.

BIC: Jonas didnt notice Kharas gaze, his attention diverted on the lay of the land. But as he turned back to the group, he did notice that Khara had torn another piece of her clothing to wipe the blood off of her newly acquired sword. Jonas went to his horse and pulled his rolled blanket from the saddle. He then walked over to where Khara was sitting and placed the blanket at her feet. "Not much, but you can have it." he said to her.
Not waiting for her reply, he turned on his heel and walked off.

OOC: Oh, well come winter I'll be gone on trips alot.
Raeray took the whippack back shrugging. She was bored. Then she remembered her trumpet. She decieded to play it.(I know she doesn't exactly think).She inserted the silver mouthpiece into the golden shiny trumpet, that she had named for no reason at all Trumpy. She blew into it quietly while going over the songs in her head to think of one that would cheer her up.

Jonas heard Raeray fumbling around with something and turned to see what. At the sight of the kender about to blow into a trumpet, Jonas lunged at Raeray to grab the instrument away, but the sudden jolt of movement sent sharp pain through Jonas's injured arm. The sudden onset of pain robbed Jonas of all words except one....'Khara!" he screamed.

BIC: Raeray stopped blowing relizing her mistake. She hit herself on the head. She then saw Jonas. Raeray blamed herself again. Maybe she should leave, she thought, everything that had happened since the dragon attack has been her fault. She went over to see if Jonas was ok.

ooc- welcome back stranger! You think you were lost, I was the only one online for three days..boo hoo for me...I have no life, nowhere to go....:( Well enough of the pity party!

Khara jumped to her feet at the sound of her name being cried out in pain, in a glance she took in the situation. Rushing over to Jonas, instinct took over and she gently pushed Raeray out of the way. Knowing Jonas had a broken arm Khara tore the remaining scraps of her shirt apart to bind his arm with. "Raeray, I need you to go into the woods and find me a short limb, stripped of leaves, preferrably thin and green." Khara said softly. Giving Jonas an apologetic look she then ripped his shirt cuff exposing his arm. With gentle fingers she softly probed, looking for the break, it was as he said, a clean break. While waiting for Raeray to return Khara picked up the herbs she had passed to Jonas earlier and began to roll them between her palms to mash them together " The herbs will take the pain away and speed the healing " she said glancing at Jonas " I will bind your arm with the limb to keep it straight so it can heal properly, you will not have much use of it untill it heals, however with the herbs you shall be fine within a few days." Spreading the herbal mixture on Jonas's arm Khara muttered soft words in elven then started to wrap the cloth she had torn from her tunic around both the herbs and his arm to keep them in place. When she was done she sat back on her heels and surveyed her handiwork " When Raeray returns I will strap the limb to your arm, however with the binding you may not need it, we will see." With that she settled down to wait for Raeray to return.

Raeray ran off to find a limb. She looked at the ground but then heard the clunking of armor. She looked up from the ground and saw Amarar surrounded by Dark Knights. She ducked down behind a bush and grabbed her hoopack ready for yet another battle.

ooc- wooh did I miss something?...I thought we were too far to see or hear Amarar and that he was in the old camp, ready to fling a knife...or how far did you go to get that limb?...

OOC: Far I guess, you know I'm a kender so who knows she might have gotten side tracked or something.....

ooc- o.k. I can work with that, now Dalamar has no excuse not to post!...lol, so you'll be away for a while...hmm what kind of trouble can Khara and Jonas get into...hhhmmm I think they need to have a talk...or fight...whichever comes first..maybe Calvillas has some ideas. :)

bic- The hawk sat perched upon the tree branch and watched as Amarar was slowly surrounded by dark knights, by turning his head he saw as well a little kender not far away in the bushes. Ruffleing his feathers, he debated to fly to find Khara or to stay as he had been asked. Settleing down he decided to watch and wait.

ooc- maybe you can find out what happened to Kashnik as well...one kender to another! :)

BIC: Raeray waited considering if she should go back. No, she thought, that would get them into even more danger. Raeray sat in the brush trying to be as quiet as possible when a mage saw her. The mage waved for the comander to come over there. Oh no, Raeray thought. She then rebembered a potion sh had in her pouch given to her by her mother, or was it her cousin. Raeray quickly took the potion out and drank it. Raeray gasped in disgust. Man that tasted bad, she thought. Then Raeray simled to herself. She was invisable!!!!

While waiting for Raeray to come back Khara decided to make use of the blanket Jonas had given to her. Taking out her sharp little dagger she proceeded to cut two and a half arm lenghts off the bottom. Folding the remaining four feet of blanket she set it aside. Khara then cut a two inch strip lenghtwise and set it aside for a moment. Folding the material in half she cut a tear shape out of the center then pulled it over her head so the point of the tear was in the front and the material hung in the front and back. Picking up the strip she had set aside she used it as a belt tieing the flaps close and stuck her dagger in the new makeshift belt. Satisfied with the new covering she pulled her hair out from beneath the backing so it fell in waves down her back then picked up what remained of the blanket and passed it back to Jonas "Thanks" she said softly.

Jonas laughed a little as he took back the blanket. "Good size for a dwarf now. And I should be the one thanking you. The herbs you placed on here are working better than I thought they would." he said as he turned and threw the blanket on top the rest of his gear. As he turned back to Khara, he couldnt help but notice how beautiful she was. The thought made him blush a little and he became very uncomfortable in the realization that they were now alone. "So...um," he stuttered as he looked in any direction that wasnt facing Khara. "Can't say I know this area very well. Any ideas as to where we are?" he finally asked.

Khara smirked to herself seeing that Jonas was a little uncomfortable About time he wasn't so in control she thought "A few more days travel and we will reach the shore line between Southern and Northern Ergoth, as for right here" she glanced around " We are in the woods!" a smile light her eyes though her face remained impassive " Where did you come from?" she asked curiously.

Jonas let his eyes linger a little longer on the landscape, trying to decide on an answer to Khara's question. "Solamnia..." he said with a sigh as he let his eyes fall to the ground. Then he turned to face her, "I'm originally from Solamnia, but I've traveled over most of Ansalon these past few years. So I guess the most direct answer to your question is...I came from the south." he said with smile. "You seem to know this area pretty well. Do you have a home here somewhere?"

" I did.." Khara whispered as grief threatened to overtake her due to thoughts of her lost home, clearing her throat she continued " About a week ago, my village was attacked, Amarar and I are the only remaining from our entire tribe!" Khara glared at Jonas " It was humans, dark knights and a dragon that destroyed our home! Humans!" she spat with disgust as if the word itself left a bad taste in her mouth. Turning her back on Jonas Khara curled her fists, struggleing to regain her composure " I swore revenge on the ones who destroyed my home...vowed while standing over the body of Darin, our chief...my brother." The words trailed off into a whisper, as a lone tear streaked down Khara's cheek.
