"Well lets go then", Philandus took Cassandra's arm and led her out of the temple; the rain and wind had ended, the night was calm and still. They started walking around the square outside, "So lady cleric, why did you choose Mishakal?"
Cassandra shrugs her shoulders "It was all I knew, all I remember is waking up here. They said that an old woman had brought me here. I had no memories of before that so, I had no place to belong. They were all kind to me so I swore to repay their forgiveness by giving onto others that of what have been given to me. So I became a cleric of mishakal, really it is not so bad." She says smiling to him half-heartedly "So why did you choose to become a Knight?"

"Well my one was easy, I was either going to be a knight or a mercanary. My two oldest friends Nisa and Erwin were mercanaries, but I had more noble ideals and decided on the knighthood. It was a struggle to get this far, but I think it was worth it. You don't seemed to be pleased in the service of Mishakal" said Philandus thoughtfully.

She gives him a genuine smiles, which fades fast when she answers his question "I.....it is not that I am not pleases with working in the service of Mishakal, it is just I don't think I was a good person in my past. And that scares me, sometimes I think I feel the need to run away from all of this. I am not sure if you can understand what I am saying, I am not sure I understand it. All I know is that I feel the need to leave and follow Parintachin, it is strange but i feel very comfortable around him more so then a cleric of good should."

"I think you underestimate yourself, to become a cleric of Mishakal, she has to accept you. Therefore you are good at heart and you are worthy to be given the powers of the Healing Goddess", Philandus stopped and looked at her in the eyes. "You are not evil, you are pure of heart, whatever may have happend before you turned up at the church, it obviously isn't evil enough to affect Mishakal's decision."

Philandus put his arm around her, thinkng she is cold and also lonely. "Let us get out of the cold", he started walking to the door, when he noticed the sky had changed to a red and orange colour. Philandus looked behind him and saw the beginnings of dawn, he took the cleric's hand and started dragging her down a road towards the gate, "I have a better idea".
He dragged the cleric up the stairs and stood upon the battlements looking towards the dawn, "This is the best thing for me, I stand here and watch Sunset or Dawn and I think, but don't say anything just look at the dawn".
He sat upon the wall of the battlements between two crenallations looking out at the sun rising, thinking of his times before the Knighthood with his childhood friends and all the highs and lows of the knighthood through the time he had been there.

She does what he says, looking at the sunrise how beautiful it was. And that this time she was not alone watching it, a feeling of joy over takes her so much that she starts to cry a little. She looks over at him lost in the sunrise and smiles through her tears of joy, she then thinks to herself Yes, leaving will be the right thing to do.

He stood up and walked up to her and placed his hands upon her arms, and bent his legs slightly to look into her eyes. He stood there for a second and nodded, "You have made your decision", he said gently. "Am I allowed to know your answer?"

It took Parintachin a moment to answer Charlotte. He turned to look at the barmaid. Her face coloring, Charlotte looked down at the bundesphar boots. Beside him, Steel sneezed.
“Honesty? What are you worried about?”
Parintachin waited. Topaz shined beneath his hood.Charlette took a deep breath to regain her composure. "Their following us... the figures in the shadows. I don't think they are after us. I'm sure they would have done something by now if they were. But they're still there and what if..." She leaned in closer to parintachin, "What if they're going to ambush us. I've heard stories about The Vigil Seven... and how they treat women." She shuttered at the thought. "Maybe we should go back to the church. I'd rather be board to death there than taken to Vigil Seven for questioning."

He sighed and look as the sunrise and remember back when he was young that he use to play with his brother Ledin and his sister Tia. However time has pass on and so has he. Missing the old times.....
How do we pick the threads of an old life? When deep in the heart you begin to understand... there is no going back. There are somethings time can never cure. Some pains so deep.. that taken whole... he though.
Then a strong unsettling pain in his heart he place a hand on his chest feeling his heart racing. He could feel it... feel anger.. rage.. near by, these emtions were coming from the rest of the party. Cold sweat run down his face and he breath hard.
"Lady Mina stay here you be safe," he whispered. He left the room and turn back and notice that she did not even look at him...only facing the window, tears run down his eyes with that he quicky left the church and notice the rest of the group.
"Stop it.. why most we have meaningless suffering?" he yelled at then as he tired to keep his breath.

She counted the stars as they faded from the sky. Someday she was going to be a great heroine and save people...if she lived that long. She was going to save her mother and father first. That had to be her first priority...

"You have her now," he told Philandrus. "And equally important- return her to the church."
The church.
Parintachin did not share the others love for the Temple-indeed, during this past night he crossed the threshold of a holy place more times than in a decade.
That was not all.
"Mina is dangerous," he told Sir Philandrus. "Keep both eyes on her at all times."
The bundesphar turned to the barmaid, nodding for them to follow the Knight.

The front door to the temple can be heard opening and shut, the giggling of girls can be heard coming down the hall. "Oh what do we have here, excuse me girls." A female voice says, as she pops her head into the room and looks at Mina "You must be a visitor, do you have anything to do with the people outside. I think there maybe a problem, they didn't look to happy out there."

No, there was nothing he could say to make her go back to the church. She would rather go back to the tavern and spend the rest of her life spilling drinks and dancing around grouping hands that follow the knight and the cleric.

But the leader died around eighteen years ago and the group must of disbanded. But it seems that they are form once again. They are after Lady Mina for some reason.. why do not know. “In the Age of Dreams, The Dark Queen brought The Word of Canus. Canus is the faithful. Canus is the guard. Canus is the hunter. Canus brought the Bond between wolf and man, wulfbunde and master. We become like the wolf, and the wolf like us.”

Seline interveins walking inbetween the two looking at Philandus "Sir Knight, please I will check her over. I need you to do something though for me, go after that young Squire he seemed upset and I think an older Knight like you would be the best for him to speak with."

Cassandra didn't even watch him leave, she just looks at Seline who is now looking back at her "Mother Seline, I am fine I............." Seline puts a finger up "Now, now. I am not so sure, not even I would be stupid enough to push a man like that. You, you seems to have gotten yourself into quite something here. I will not stop you from going, but just make sure this is what you want. And that we are always here child if you need us."
Cassandra's eyes lower "I know, I understand. But it is like if I do not do this, that I will regret it forever. I don't know what will happen, or who I will end up being in the end. But if we never meet again, I thank you for everything you have done for me."
"Oh child." She grabs Cassandra and gives her a hug, then steps away from her. "Well you better get going, I doubt any of them will be coming back." She steps out of the room.
Cassandra grabs only a couple of things that she will need with her then heads downstairs, some of her other sisters meet her at the door with small gifts and food to take with her. Once she pushes through all the hugs and crying she leaves and makes it across to the Inn. Altamaru sat alone in the town square his eyes closed. Remembering about his sister….
Young Altamaru walked into the house his head down in shame as he got rejected by the Knights again. The matter how much her tries.. he fails at everything he does, this was the fifth time that the Knights did not accepted him. He slowly climb up the stairs to the upper floor.
“Brother Maru what’s wrong,” a young women asked him as she met him in the middle of the stairs. He looked up and saw his Sister Tia smiling at him.
“I got rejected again... I never will be a knight…”
“Don’t say that… you be a fine knight. Okay brother? Listen I still love you no matter what you are and what you become. Listen I must go. But I am going to the temple tonight why don’t you join me? It might help relax and feel good about yourself, Paladine will guide you.” she kissed him on the check and smiled.

Philandus heard what Altamaru said and knew it to be true, "Yes we must go, you can tell us what happend after we are on our way. Lets move, I am sure the Vigil Seven will know we are still here, with that racket."
Cassandra's hand fell lip at her side for a moment, a dark shadow can be seen dancing around the bracelet she wears. And a moment later it can be seen and heard falling onto the floor, Cassandra didn't seem to be moving at all for a moment then she speaks "Ridicolous, grown Knights afraid of fools like that. And even the once proud bundesphar reduced to striking a lowly cleric of good just because she insults your queen. Oh how pathetic we have gotten, how pathetic I had gotten." She looks up at everyone with a cold smile and the cold eyes that Parin at already witnessed earlier. She then stands and walks over to Philandus, and puts a finger to his lips "Shhhhh, everything will be fine. Better yet let them follow us, that shall prove far more entertaining." She then bends down and gives him a deep kiss, only to pull away and head out the door.

“Istar once thought as you. The fire of heaven rained. Blood was spilled. Brother turned on brother. Nature rose against man. And the darkness fell.”
He slammed his staff on the ground. “Cry off squire, an let us move on. Cassandra is true, so says the Balance," he said.
Steel watched from afar. He barked. He ran ahead.

Altamaru walked among them deep into his thoughs.
Young Altamaru and Tia sat in a the temple praying to Paladine. They have been doing this for the past while now, just sitting there no word came out, just praying until this fateful night.
"Brother Maru.. I have a question that I must ask you" Tia asked him.
Altamaru turned to him confused.
"What is it Sister Tia?" he asked him.
For the moment Tia was quiet and stared up in the air as she was staring at Paladine.
"I'm been watching you all this time... your training... how you are. There something that puzzles me brother. You have so much power.. but you never use it, yet you always grow stronger. Why is that?"
Altamaru sighed and shook his head at her.
"Because I don't want power.. using power does not make me better than evil at all. If I was even offered to lived as a inmortal and have internal power I will rejected it. I do not fear darkness I do not fear light... but I fear to live...I fear to love," he replied.
"Brother take my hand...Tia asked sweetly.
Tears run down his eyes and shook his head again.
"No sister Tia I'm sorry I have no right to be in his family. I'm not Altamaru Theodore your brother.. I just a tained soul. I must go," Altamaru quickly ran out the door of the temple nearly knocking over a man on his way in.
"Brother..." then she notice the man coming towards her. "I'm sorry is there anything Paladine can help you with?" she asked the man.
The man looked at the young girl and smiled. He was in his late twenties with jet black hair, with the light brown eyes.
"Yes I think Paladine may help me, but I think you can help me as well" he replied to her.
Then slapped his forehead and sighed.
"I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself... my name is Montague"

It was eons ago. Well, it felt like eons ago…and Nevercae was an elf. Maybe years ago, or months perhaps, but however long it had been it felt like forever to him. Altamaru told him he’d return shortly to the Inn at Crossing’s port, so aptly named Cross Inn. Nevercae had thought it witty for a human’s attempt. At least it had pleased him enough; it would suffice as a resting spot.
“I’ll return in maybe a fortnight or so,” Altamaru had dodgingly answered. The mage settled himself into a room with plenty of space and a large desk. Rolls of vellum, parchment and fine-spun papers were neatly stacked in order to save time for the quick-scribing Nevercae. Inks of various colors and consistencies came out from his haversack. Vast plumages of birds, from the common crow to the exotic peacock or cockatiel, were produced to dance and sing the fine inks upon the scrolls.
Yes, he’d completed many of those now, sold a fair amount that he didn’t need. Some of that new steel had purchased the elf the means of his next craft. Bracers of starmetal, the beautiful to see bluish-silver ore of the heavens, with various sized rubies were imbued with a mighty abjuration as Nevercae labored with the arcane chants. He poured the mulberry wine over the stones and rubbed valerian root against the metal. His bracers of mage armor were fixed long before he decided to leave Crossing.
Nevercae was dangerous for he was an elf with a human’s attitude of time. Why lay about the forest cavorting and lazing about like foolish faeries when one could begin a quest to save his people, or the land, or the Orders of High Sorcery, or the people of Krynn, or Krynn itself for that matter. There was much to be done in this adventuring world and this exiled Silvanesti was not about to just sit around moping.
He’d been an exile of Silvanesti for some time now but he had heard the forest wasn’t much to see these days anyhow. His sacrifice was certainly worth it and he was sure the black robed Dalamar would agree. Bah, they never talked anyway. Dalamar was a forward thinking man but a tad too eager even in Nevercae’s mind. The House system was an old man’s plan at civilization but that did not mean one could just going bounding over its restrictions. There were steps to consider and ways to take them. Well, Nuitari have Dalamar the Dark. Nevercae was an exile for taking a balanced path. It was worth it. Lunitari shone her graces on Nevercae and that he appreciated.
So what was more walking? Not that he ever walked anymore. If he wasn’t flying he was riding upon a summoned mount. That was fine for him anyhow. A mount upon the land let him take notice of his surroundings, chat with passers by (typically forlorn or desperate humans; he’d roasted a few bandits already), and generally seem less of a terrible figure about to descend on some hapless soul.
Laughter filled his slender throat. Ah he loved to see them run off when he flew over, as if he was some fearsome red dragon come to scorch their township? Bah, rubbish. His crimson robes were magnificent but not that grand. Still, he commonly found his hands stroking the rich velvet fabric.
All like that, the Silvanesti had gathered his scrolls, his wares, fastened his new bracers upon his wrists, stolen a constable’s steed’s tail hair and called himself a mount. He climbed aboard, whispered a command or two to the beast and off they went. Abanasinia was turning out to be an endless grassland but there were mountains to the south, forests to see, and Crystalmir Lake sooner or later. He’d wash his feet there, catch some fish (magic missiles were good for that in a pinch) and fill up his water skin before he enjoyed a little entertainment at Solace.
Long before he reached the lake however, Nevercae was startled to see his old friend Altamaru walking up the road he traveled down with a group of vagabonds, all of them human by the looks of it. Well fine, if pointed ears were too much for the purist squire than so be it!
Eyes of emerald green narrowed their gaze on the point of Altamaru’s face like a knife cutting circles in tender lamb’s flesh. The winds over the grassland tossed the straight brown hair of the elf this way and that. His nose turned up and his smile became one of devious trickery. A faint red glow surrounded his robes, an earlier cast precaution used on traveling days. He let his bracers remain hidden in his clothes and his enchanted dagger stayed in its spring sheath of his sleeve.
Well hopefully the group hadn’t taken the boy prisoner. It would not do to kill so many when it was still so early. However a cone of cold was not far from his mind, or maybe chain lightning if truly troublesome these people were. No, it was probably all right, a few at least were smiling.
“Greetings this sunny morn to you Altamaru. Long have I waited upon the shores of this land and not once did I hear from you, friend. I hope all is well,” and by that tone it seemed that everything better not be so well. There should at least be some excuse for making the mage wait so long; at least Nevercae’s quick turn of phrase seemed to demand such. He and his horse were still a few hundred feet away but his elven eyes studied the others carefully, including the man with his wolf and the woman with the slit in her black dress.

The Vigil Seven. Sever men of vigilance? Vigilant upon a squire and his love. Surely love would conquer all.
“Ha,” Nevercae sneered as he chuckled, his private joke amusing him so. “Yes, m’lady, I am a friend of Altamaru’s. A friend that was left in Crossing for what seems like years, but a friend none the less.” The elf frowned and then smiled suddenly, realizing he was frowning.
He drew nearer still to the group and listened to the squire’s whispers. “Yes, indeed, quite,” Nevercae whispered back, his voice quite reassuring though perhaps a little sarcastic. His gaze followed that of Altamaru’s and he beheld the vision of Mina. Beautiful, radiant, a bit naïve, she seemed just his friend’s type.
The mage’s eyes shifted, sweeping once more the collection of humans Altamaru had garnered for himself. Nevercae studied Cassandra’s legs and bosom momentarily, certainly supple and quite bountiful but not nearly as graceful as an elven woman. She was definitely not as virginal as an elven woman.
The woman who watched closely the man with the wolf was intriguing too, the look of a taverness about her. Hm, better make that waitress on second thought. The elf’s smile brightened. The man was feeding his wolf and just sat down plainly on the road as if it were a camp.
Nevercae’s attention returned to his friend, “I’m happy to help with this Vigil Seven matter, but I’m not stopping by the wayside anymore.” His intoned words wore snobbery’s finest and he pointed a finger over at the man with his dog. Hopefully the wolf had not raised the man. The barbarians out here were of a common sort, though their spiritualism was admirable. No, this man had something else to him. “You there, come along now, we’re not stopping yet. We’ll travel up a ways then make camp. Tomorrow morning then, after we break fast, I’ll teleport us to Solamnia’s shores if that’s alright with my absent-minded friend here.”
His eyes rolled and he shook his head as he brought the horse about. There was another man who stood nearby the black-dressed lady (ha, that too was rather amusing) and another girl but he paid them little mind for now. He’d have to take a watch of them. “I’m going to fall back a bit Altamaru, watch on the wayside. I’ve seen all this before.” Grass, amazing isn’t it?
It just didn’t make any sense, why didn’t they have horses? Bah, silly little humans. His respect for the creatures not withstanding, at this rate his attitude was going to become more like that of his racist, closed-minded family back in the ruins of Silvanesti. The horse slowed, bringing him to the party’s right and back. He smoothed the fabric of his robe with his hands as he watched.
All this way just to turn around. Ah well, at least he wasn’t the one walking.

“We are as well met as any two meeting for the first time,” Nevercae said nonchalantly, leading his mount with his knees. “I am Nevercae Arthlomnis of House Mystic, mage of Lunitari’s red order. And you are?”
He watched this man carefully but kept an eye upon the wolf that played behind them. Steel was its name, aye? It was a very poor name for an animal, at least in the elf’s opinion. Was he named after the single piece of steel he’d been purchased for from some pathetic, worthless poacher? Or maybe his fur came close to such a color in late winter? She then turns and walks into the darkness, here she felt safe and was starting to feel more like herself again. She walks a little ways and finds a small stream, kneeling down to it she brings her hands down cupping them to splash water onto her face. She then looks up at the moons searching out a specific constilation "My Queen, I am back by your work no doubt. Why now, why with these people? I am willing to do you bidding you just ask and it will be done. I just ask one thing of you, who is this Montague why is he so familiar. You must know, for someone that dark cannot work for anyone else."
Cassandra keeps herself there for a little bit, not reallyexpecting an answer. Just enjoying being alone and in the darkness. Considering staying here away from the group to sleep tonight.
Parin sipped his tea. His mind was on the scheme. A con this good requires a partner but whom?
He watched everyone. One part of his brains on the plan the other with Steel who now ran with the rest of the patrol. They were near. Good. He may need them to kill the girl. When is the question and how.

Cassandra eventually gets up and walks around more, very aware of wolves being around her and the others. Of course they would be with him around. She looks around for some herbs, some of the more poisonous ones. She found some here and there, not exacly what she was looking for but they would do. She takes them back to the stream to wash them off, and then starts preparing them. Some she turned into a paste, others she needed the oil from. All she did very carefully, some of the poison she even put onto her sword to make the effect of the cute worse for whom ever the victim would be. She eventually stored the others away for later, in some pouches she had in her cloak. People would learn not to take her lightly.

“Um Altamaru,” said Lyra, “can we talk…alone?” she added, not really wanting anyone else to overhear. She gestured to a hillside. “I um…” bending down to whisper in his ear, she continued, “I don’t know how to say this, but I want to know…more about you…is that okay?” Her face was reddening.

"Ummm okay then..." he repled then with a puzzle tone. He turn to Lady Mina "Lady Mina please excuse me for a moment," he whispered to her.
He then followed her at the hillside under a big oak tree.
"Yes what is it Lrya?" he asked her.

“I wanted to ask you what…what you guys are doing now. And um…I wanted to ask you…where is your sister?” Lyra said, her eyes shining. It would be nice to talk to Tia again. But that was so long ago… Her hands clasped shyly behind her back, Lyra waited for him to answer. It was so strange…where was Tia and why wasn’t she here?

Altamaru close his eyes and put his head down in shame.
"She... pass away long time ego," he whispered.

“Hmph,” Nevercae muttered as the man walked up ahead, leaving him without the name he had asked for.
That was his business but one of common courtesy, a base that even he abided. It was his opinion only the fearful or the dangerous did not give their name. Sometimes the person was both. Criminals escaping authority often neglected to drop their name, but usually then they had an alias to give. At least the man had answered the elf’s silent question regarding the wolf’s name.
While chalking mind reading up to the black-skinned man’s abilities, Nevercae rode on in silence until dark. This amount of people, including the wolf, he would teleport only to Crossing. It would save time and save himself questions from any onlookers in Solamnia. Despite Magius’ grand fame, the Knights still feared the lights of magic. For example, the knight that traveled with them now. Bah, how frustrating.
Once at camp, the group seemed to quickly separate. Nevercae was not a people person but he did not like this. If they were to travel together and achieve some common goal, they would at least have to stay together and cooperate. The woman in the black dress, whom he had come to know was Cassandra, quickly left for a little walk and a bath.
Alerts rang off in his mind. The woman was practically being asked to be attacked. Hopefully she could take care of herself; she did have that air about her. Thus, against his better judgment, he remained silent. Others were going off and attending to their own business and conversations, even the Squire. Yet, the wolf man remained, watching the campsite and his fellows with topaz eyes.
Nevercae was seated quietly on one of the denser areas of grass. He had dismissed his mount hours ago and gathered his crimson robes closer to his elven body for comfort and warmth. The fire added beautiful ambiance and heat to the area. Dancing flames were always welcomed for their light and crackling serenity. The most peaceful thing about this camp was the fire.
Periodically the mage looked up from his traveling spellbook. Arcane diagrams and illogical mathematics ran through his mind like air through his lungs. Studying many of these spells had become first-nature. Again he looked up from those treasured pages and pulled lengths of brown hair away from his emerald eyes, only to look into the menacing yellow orbs of the wolf man.
The Silvanesti smiled disarmingly.

“Sh-she’s…dead? But how!?” the half-elf cried. “She was still with you when I left. But that must mean that…how did this happen!?”

Parin nodded at the elf. He gathered his thoughts, stood, and walked over. He smiled, said, “ Luin, me ofurbud op to me bulfant bronint…”
-Lunitari, be my shield against those who would do me ill…. -
In the tongue of Istar. “Is that not how it goes mage?”
Parin set down.

A slender brow rose in question as the wolf man came near. The other joined the first in wonder at his words. As he sat, Nevercae closed his spellbook and laid an arm across it.
He recognized the old prayer but it certainly had not been used in a long time. “That is how it went, wolf,” the mage made a mocking grin. A slight chuckle filled his throat and he looked up to the red moon, a smiling crescent. “Her gifts are my sword but I have not her shield. That is a lost artifact once given to the red master of the Three.”
Nevercae sighed casually and gestured to the fire. “Inflamos,” he chanted as a piece of yew bark burned away from the fingers of his left hand. Sparks gathered as the fire climbed almost ten feet into the sky. “A burning fire is my passion and she gives me the fuel I need to fan it. What a sword it is upon the battlefield, a place I doubt you are unfamiliar with.”

Parin watched the fire. "Tell me elf magi, why do you have ka with the squire?" he asked, eyes still on the flames.

Cassandra comes back eventually, she sees Maru and Lyra up on the hill. She lets herself smile a little, she then passes Parin and the elf. Chuckling a bit at the pair, she would have never thought of them getting along. She reaches out her hand and pats Parin on the head not being able to help it, she has wanted to do that since she has met him. She then goes and sits across from Charlette, giving her what could have been a friendly smile but was more of a smart alac one.
