TimeFrame: Many months after the War of Souls.
Plot: There is none for the most part, although I'll make up a small quest to get the companions bonded. ;) Those that join early will meet at inn, those that join late will make their own interactions into the story at their conveniance. The story will go where the poeple decide to take it, bringing up rumours they've heard, having bits of their past catch up with'em, become friends and tag along with others, anything's possible. All I ask if that you try to not create too much of one character. There can only be so many anti-heros, so many villains doing good, so many comedic characters, so many fighters, mages, etc. Will not stop you from doing it though, so it's up to you, just keep it in mind plz, along with the rarity of non-humans and half-breeds in particular.
OOC: With that being said, I suppose I should start us off.
Name: Digofein Passimo
Race: Human, so it seems. ;)
Class: Red Wizard
Weapons: Wooden Staff and Long Dagger.
Bio: Nah uh, it's a secret.
IC:
Solace is now a bustling down, and quite profitable. The exploits of the Heroes of the Lance and their origins in the Inn and Palin Majere's celebrity have brought much success to Solace. The Inn of the Last Home has become a collection of races and cultures, each having their own stories passed down through generations or witnessed themselves.
The Inn itself was packed with customers, with dwarves challenging many of them to drinking contests. Elves for the most part trying to keep to themselves until someone brings up a story of Tanis or Laurana. Although now an exiled poeple, some taking up permanent residence in the tress of Solace after Qualinesti's downfall, they're always ready to give their version of events and keep their minds off their race's possible extinction. The new Mayor, Palin Majere added to the population, being a celebrity he was nearly crushed by the flocking kender entering and leaving the inn, quickly finding him a boring ordinary human or being carried and kicked out by patrons who caught them "borrwing".
"How many has that been today? I think I've lost count!" asked Palin.
"Well, what do you expect, these potatos are amazing!" a Digofein told'em.
"Yes, Otik's recipe is in good hands." he replied, looking for his daughter, spotting her handing plates to the barmaid and racing back into the kitchen to keep up with orders.
"So Master you have something you wanted to talk about?" he said trying to keep the food from jumping from his mouth.
"I wish you would stop calling me that, I can't even perform a simple cantrip anymore."
Digofein just replied with a smile.
"Well anyways, in this letter is all you need to know. Should you need assistance I'm sure there's a few mercenaries or adventurers willing to help you out in here." he said handing Digofein a small pouch of silver which he snatched up greedily.
"An old habit, sorry. You can count on me Master!" he said with a sly grin on his face.
Palin was about to argue but then looking at the growing kender coming into the door decided he should just ignore it for now and leave out the back kitchen.
Palin could now be seen flying into the kitchen with the swiftness of a man half his age.
Digofein almost choked on his meal right there.

Hearing his coughing one of the Kender chasing for Palin turned to Digofein, and thinking he was choking he thought since he's seem his grandfather choke to death before and hadn't yet seen someone survive the food choking before he thought he'd take a look, but seeing no food being spit out he thought the robed man was still choking so he took his hoopak and smacked it across the back of the head of the man, sending his face into his plate.
OOC: This would be a perfect time for a Kender to introduce himself.

Name: Tazlhuff Burfeet
Class: Handler
Weapons: A dagger, or whatever he happens to have in his pouches at the time.
Taz followed the legendary Palin Majere into the just as legendary Inn of the Last Home when he saw a very interesting thing coming out of the robes a red mage. He decided that there was a good chance that it might fall out, so he decided to keep it safe by placing it securely in one of his pouches with every intention of giving it back to the mage.

Trina walked up and snatched the kender by the scruff of his neck. She poked the mage a few times before giving up, "You didn't have to knock him out did you?" She asked the kender while holding out her hand for the item he had just lifted.

Digofein groaned, his head ached, and he could only imagine why, looking up to stare at the Kender caught at the scruff of the neck. "Why thank you young lady," he said wiping the food off his face with his robes, "but I should be fined, luckily the hoopak isn't too much of a devastating weapon," he grinned. "Why don't you join me, I'll order you some Potatos, to repay you for worrying you, come sit, please."

Taz grinned and said, " I am Tazlhuff Burfeet, not to be confused with Tasselhoff Burfoot. I intend to make a much greater name for myself then him by having great adventures. Oh, and I'm sorry about hitting you with my hoopak mister mage. Sometimes that thing has a mind of its own. " he then proceded on a rant about how his uncle Tanslhuff found out that hoopaks actually do have minds of their own.

Turning in his chair to get a look at the man behind him, "And what is your business here good sir, aside from the famous potatos of course?" Digofein said looking down at the longbow and quiver of arrows at the man's feet.

Digofein rolled his eyes, the barbaric tongue of the warriors is perhaps the one enemy that even the gods can't defeat. Seeing Trina's face searching for an answer he spoke up, "I've been here before when Palin had a school here many years before but after Beryl's jealousy destroyed it I decided to go out and search for the mysteries of magic on my own and did not return until last week."

"The hard part will be avoiding the exterior patrols and dragons really."

"How do you do, sir kender," Ceinnar responded to the excited kender. One hand remaining on the quarterstaff as the other extended to shake the little one's hand, Ceinnar offering a smile of greeting. Within the smile was a comfort that the kender could, in fact, steal nothing from him, save a few gold coins.
"Thank you, kindly," he responded in thanks to the kender holding the door for his entrance. "Coming or going?" Ceinnar glanced in the direction he had been, and then in the direction he was going. He chuckled as the kender bound away, no doubt in search of his next heist.
As he stepped within the door, his faculties returned and the smell of those potatoes wafted to his nose. A pleasant greeting considering this was his first time visiting the Inn. The crowd was a mob of unsettling commotion compared to the lonely travels he had become accustomed to. Searching for a place to sit, he at last found one and settled in for the time being.
Here's my character:
Name: Ceinnar Ven
Race: Human
Class: Monk
Weapons: Quarterstaff & three daggers
Description: Ceinnar is donned in a grey cloak and sandals upon his feet. There appears to be nothing fancy about him upon first glance. In fact, mostly during his travels he is approached as a commoner who keeps to himself at most times.
There will be more of a description and his demeanor as the storyline progresses.

Morcalivan saw the man extending his hand in supposed friendship. He took a few sniffs and picked up the smells of spell components from his belt, a mage he thought. However looking over the man he saw he wore grey robes, not any of the order and with the sick sensation in his gut he knew he must be a renegade. Taking his hand he shook his but not in friendship, he could sense the powerful magic flowing through him, too powerful for a dabbler or novice. Yes, he was right, definately a renegade, one he was sworn to turn, capture or even kill upon becoming a mage. "Have a seat," he said grudgingly, "interesting colour of robes for a mage such as yourself. Have you not been called to the last Conclave?" he asked knowing the answer already. This mage was a traitor, a blasphemer, not as dangerous as the many wild mages running about but still a danger to the conclave and although the Renegade Hunters are concentrating on the most powerful wild mages at the moment, it is still his duty to see that this mage either gives up magic, joins the Conclave, is escorted to be tried by the Conclave or is sentenced to death.

Trina could sense the tension and didn't like it one bit. "Renegade..." She said out loud, looking at the table. "Wizard fights are to be done on wizard's soil. This isn't the place. If you don't want his help then apperently you are not in that great of need." She looked directly at the red robe as she spoke the last sentance.

Ceinnar sat quietly as he witnessed the cordial meeting of mage and renegade. The Red Robe had spoken interesting words concerning Haven, and that alone had sparked his interest. Besides, his interest in the exchange between the Red and Grey started his feet moving and he approached closer and joined the group, remaining quiet for the time being.
In doing so, however, Ceinnar assessed those gathered. Haven would be along the path he had planned to travel. Certainly no harm in travelling with others, especially ones that promised the heat of battle far before the journey actually started. He began introductions with the one going by the name Trina, offering a silent nod beneath the spoken words between mages.

However, if I were caught with a Renegade I would be 'dispelled' from the order and lose my shot at discovering the secret tomes of waywerth shown only to it's members, so I must decline in you seating at our table. You will be reported to the conclave in the morning, so I suggest once you've had your fill that you leave for another town and hope your luck holds that the Renegade Hunters are busy with wild sorcerer matters." But I don't expect you, one who isn't one of us to understand, for the conclave has never really been well understood." Digs stood up now, packing his things and preparing to leave.

OOC: My character is not a novice, his human appearance may look young but his Kobold body has aged well over the years, being a sorcerer before being taught by Palin and then again at the Tower of Waywerth. btw, you never affect other characters unless it's your thread. But if you wonna play rough. ;)
"You've... just signed, your... death!" Digs said as he took out an octopus tentacle and summoning his magic dark rubbery tentacles appeared from the floor wrapping over the renegade's arms, neck and mouth, canceling his control of the magic and preventing any further, all the while grappling his bones and neck so tightly that he stops breathing, his wrists start cracking and while that happens Digs is preparing another spell to finish off this human who dared defy the conclave!
As the tenctacles slowly brought the regenade to his death Digs began taking steps to make sure he would never survive. Bringing his hand over his forehead and wiping away the sweat his then gripped the sweat in his hand and began the spell, poitong his finger at the mage and withing moments a violet ray of necromatic energy blasted the mage, draining him of all his strength, preventing any possible summoning of magic.
As the tentacles released the broken corpse Digs summoned the last of his strength, taking out a black saphire gem and pressing it against the dead man's chest, tapping into magic within and speaking the words of magic, praying to the god Luinitari for he blessing and receiving it in full. In just a few moments blue waves of unseen spirit swilred from the body all around them and Digs commanded them into the saphire, into an eternal torment of darkness and pain, punishing the renegade for his treatery and his arrogance, now a prisoner of the saphire, his magic gone, his body dead and his soul in pain.
"That my dear lady is why I did not wish to travel with him." he said, pocketing the saphire gem into his robe, exhausted at the power his expended, collapsing in his seat and passing out, his head on the table, needing to be dragged up to his room.

Digofein was restless all night, memories of battle with the renegade and his soul so close to his heart trying to reach his dreams, although not powerful enough to truely inhabit his mind or affect his thoughts, he was restless none the less and decided that morning that he would spellbind the saphire and send it into a dimensional rift to forever be closed than to risk the soul to be released.
Upon waking up he saw Trina asleep on a rocking chair next to the bed. He got up, and placed the blanket on her before sitting at the desk to memorize his spells. A few hours later he could hear her yawning.

OOC: First, your character has been killed off, this is my thread and I am god, as are all GMs, so says the bible (rulebook). :p Second, I dind't steal your powers, I made you exhausted (read sweat component), making you unable to have the energy to cast anything. Telekenesis is also resistable, as well as Black Tentacles, which is why I used exhaustion so that the tentacles could cruch your character unchallenged. Furthermore, I was perfectly willing to let your stupidity of brining a renegade into the thread in the presence of a Red Robe pass, however you decided to try and kill off the GM, which imo deserves a checkup as I think you've suffered some kind of brain trauma. Now please stay out of the thread, you've been evicted for your behaviour, so find another.

As the morning light rose, Ceinnar rose from the bed. Approaching the dresser in the corner, he proceeded to wash up for this day of travelling. Last evening, he had spent an hour's meditation coursing over the idea of continuing with his inclination to join the group. While he had not planned on travelling in Haven's direction, it would nonetheless give him a freedom along the roads to witness and explore further.
This morning he knelt at the side of the bed, hands folded and lowered his forehead to rest on those folded hands. Another hour's meditation in order to center his thoughts and directions was undertaken, all sights and sounds around him vanishing beneath the deep trance. Once the ritual had been concluded, Ceinnar stood and reached for his quarterstaff which rested between the bed and window. Securing the daggers and pouches in their proper places, he was ready and approached the door.
The door slowly closed behind him as the common area became visible from atop the stairs. Walking downward he recognized one of them already waiting for the journey to begin. "Morning to you. My name is Ceinnar . . . Ceinnar Ven. With all the action from last evening, I had no opening for introductions." A steady nod was afforded to Mcdohl as he claimed a seat across from him.

Digofein and his new travel companions set off minutes later on the road to Haven. They reached the outskirts of Haven just before night fall, walking off the path and crapt to the side of the great walls. They could hear the clatter of hooves as patrols took their rounds. No wonder the roads to Haven were so bear, the knights were harassing anyone they spotted and beheaded anyone they didn't. They could see a man's body strung to the back of the horse by his feet, no longer conscious or no longer living, he just dragged behind unmoving as his head dragged into the dirt.
"Alright, stay quite and stay close, don't want anyone getting caught and questions asked that we'd rather not answer." he paused, taking a look out from behind the tress and bushes he mentioned for them to move, only to end up blocked by the massive wall, the others wondering what he was thinking and wether they should head back into the cover of the forrest behind the knights make their round. Mumbling words of magic beneath his breath, carving a magical rune into the wall and sprinkling on some sesame seeds, the stones began to shift and within moments a passage had opened wide enough for them to enter. "Hurry!"
Just as they entered Digs closed the passage and the knights passed it unaware of what had happened. "Now, I don't know about you guys, but tired. Does anyone know where we might find an inn? Preferably out of the way as we don't want to be noticed as newcomers to a city that has locked it's doors."

Ceinnar had simply nodded to those gathered around the table. The offer was made and he had no objections. A few coins here and there wouldn't hurt the monestary one bit at all. As the leader, the one called Digs, exited and awaited the others, Ceinnar paused to allow him rear guard duty. This way he would assess the adventuring companions one by one.
By the time they reached Haven, Ceinnar was somewhat aware of his party members. For one, this Digs fellow seemed quite bent upon moving quickly. In Ceinnar's book that was good. Once they had gained entry and the question posed concerning an underground inn, he faintly remembered one towards the northern section of the city and spoke quietly so as not to alert the guards.
"Perhaps the Dragon's Tail Inn. To the north. Not far from where we stand."

"I know of another place, one that won't attact much attention. It's a friend's house. We can get a hot meal and a warm shower before looking for this person." She drew a small map in the dust with the toe of her boot. "it's not that far and if we go through the sewers it'll be even easier." She looked around at everyone to see their reaction.

"What's a shower?" Digs looked puzzled, "Anyways, if you know your friend is trustworthy and can manage four poeple then that'll be fine. Maybe she knows who this Loren is." Digs motioned to Trina to lead on.

Trina smiled and started off. "It's a he not she." she corrected with a slight smirk. She opened one of the covers and led them into the sewers. it smelled horrid but she put up with it silently, leading the through the labrith and up out the other side. A few alleys and close calls later they ended up in front of the back door of a decent sized house.
Trina rapped twice then three times and waited.

"Hello Trina, I remember your voice now, yes it is you Trina." He opened the door and let her come in and sensing the people behind her he said, "And who have you brought with you? By the smell I would say a mage for definate."

"Bah, that's the sewers, I'm a barbarian." Digs said with a smile from ear to ear, extending his hand in greeting. "Call me Digs, I would be in your service sir if you could allow us the day's rest." he said jingling his purse of coincs.
"Day?" he said, hadn't noticed how long it took them to get there, the sun was just trying to come up, soon soldiers would be flooding the streets. Their work would have to wait until night fall anyways, and as the man said, they smelt from the sewers and needed time to clean up as well.

Alfred turned his gaze to Digs, "Do not try and lie to me mage, otherwise you will be out on the streets and the guards can pick you up. By the way, I know that you must be hiding from the guards, because that is the only time Trina ever comes and visits me, so please come over and sit by the fire and tell me about yourselves and what you have done to warrant the guards attention."

"Have you lost your memory in your old age? Haven is sealed up yet here we are, I would have thought you could figure out why we're avoiding the guards by now." Digs snapped back at'em thinking he got'em good enough for saying he smelt, he knew damn well he smelt, he just walked through it. He took a seat not bothering to wipe the sewage from his boots.

Trina walked over after taking her boots off and smacked the mage across his face. "You'd better learn manners or i'll throw you out on your *** and personally see to it that your 'message' is read aloud in the town square." She glared at him, small sparks of lightning igniting around her.

Mcdohl took off his boots and sat down on a chair

Time passed and the sun started coming down. Morcalivan woke up to a kick in the shon as Trina woke'em up. Mumbling under his breath that he wished her to the abyss he got up and dressed. They were all nice and clean now and hadn't any problems all day except for a certain bath curtain so securely hung suddenly dropped. All in all it was an uneventful day, however the old man was a suprisingly good cook so Digs didn't mind.
"Ok, here's the plan, but first Trina take my staff." he handed over the copper headed dragon staff to'er and continued, "Mcdohl here will escort me to be delivered to the new dark lord of Haven as a gift," he put up his hand to stop the odd looks, "a gift which you and your friend will carry by wagon while our Dark Knight here disguises himself. Once inside I will be sure that no dark knight patrols bothers you while you deliver the message to this 'Loren', wherever his is."
"Loren?! The Master Loren?!" the old man asked.
"Yes, what do you know of him, where does he live, we have to deliver a message to'em." Digs let the man answer, for the most part.
"Well that's interesting, if under different circumstances I would stay to find out more but we'd better get moving." Digs packed up his things, taking out the letter and handing it to McDohl.
"So you didn't tell us how you," Trina tried to ask but was cut off, not by his voice but in utter shock. Digofein had tucked in his hands into his sleeves, bent down his face only to become not only as stiff as a statue but as hard as one too, his body and clothes were completely stone, he was a statue!
OOC: Anyone read prisoner of haven? Take the statue to the Keep and then head to Loren's Mansion. The streets are littered with Soldiers, soldiers with armour that allows them to be recognized among the knights, recognized as one of their own.

"Okay I just happen to have armor here," he took armor out from his traveling bag. He then put it on in front of them. He turn to Digs
"Lets go..."

"Will some one help me carrying this statue onto a wagon? Don't worry about the knights. I can handle talking to them,"

Trina didn't speak but rather walked over and touched the statue. it lifted off the ground slightly, no more than a half inch. She pushed it lightly with her fingertips and it moved, floating smoothy over to the door. "Get the wagon ready." she said softly, letting Digs (aka the statue) rest on the floor.

After she was sure that everything was okay she magicked the statue out the door and into the back of the wagon. Something she hadn't counted on however was that a gaurd saw her.
"Halt! What are you doing, let me see your papers." He demanded, pulling free his sword.
"Sure thing." She reached under her cloak but instead of pulling out papers she brought outa small silver dagger that struck him right between the eyes and caused the body to turn instantly to dust.

"I mean good job!" he hastly finished his sentence and jump on the wagon.

"Well met to you, sir," Ceinnar spoke to the old man as they began to depart. The monk had remained silent through the whole ordeal, allowing the others to take the initiative. During this time he assessed the likelyhood of their plan actually working, and while it had some moments of danger, all in all he was satisfied.
As the statue was taken towards the wagon, Ceinnar awaited the others to board as well. His quarterstaff was next to him, as usual. He peered this way and that for any signs of oncoming danger, and to this point he had seen none at all. The silent companion remained so, and watched as the others prepared to kick this mission off in style.

The donkey pulled the flat wagon, it's wheels tilting back and forth looking as if they would fall off, the statue layed on it's back on the wagon floor, it's 'legs' sticking out the back. Trina and Ceinnar seated in back keep sure the statue stayed in place as McDohl steered the donkey. It was a slow pace, pulling three people, a wagon and a statue was not an easy task. They had their story ready, Trina and Ceinnar were to be the artists while McDohl was escorting the 'gift', most likely to try and impress the dark lord, perhaps even get a promotion, although doubtful. The dark lord and lady were were offly grumpy after they had assassinated both their lovers, lost a good number of knights, angried the populace at a point where it could revolt at any moment, lose but still revolt none the less. On top of that they had let the Ladies Majere escape with the leader of Qui'thanos along with her accomplices. Yet that has not stopped the organization from contuing under their very noses. Loren had vowed to take up the cause after the death of his daughter, playing the beaten down man who had learned his lesson and was now a willing servant, only to secretly be rescueing his poeple from the Dark Knight occupiers.
