Ok here's the planning thread I promised.

Thanks AA21 for helping me hammer out this story and giving me the idea for it in the first place. Thanks to Steph and Majere for taking a chance and joining a thread run by a newbie. As long as AA21 doesn't try to have me for dinner, this should be a fun learning experiance for me and just plain fun for everyone else.

Here's my basic ground rules.

1) please no "god-mode"ing and try to go light on the one liners.

2) I don't mind an occasional short OOC comment in the thread as long as it doens't start getting cluttered. Anything OOC that's longer than a quick comment I prefer kept in the planning thread.

3) In the interest of keeping things moving along I prefer that people to try and post at least once a day during the week, and maybe a little more on the weekends (so long as it can be done without leaving people behind). I'm not going to be anal retentive about this, however, because I know we all have school, work, friends/family, ect. that take priority over posting here.

4) If you have to be absent for more than a couple of days, please let me know. If you decide you can't or don't want to be in the thread any longer please don't just drop out if at all possible. I'll do my best to make arrangement to write your character out of the story ( in the most non-leathal manner I can). (Except AA21.. he's not allowed to drop out of this one! )

5) Combat and Major vs. Minor battles: Feel free to squish the little "cannon fodder" enemies as you see fit (i.e. a small band of goblins), but when it comes to major baddies and combat situations that advance the plot, then just describe where you are and what you're doing and let me post the results. This is especially true for spell casters. A good rule of thumb is, if it could be a PC race/class then consider it a "Major" battle. This way no one is left out or tempted to go into god-mode.

Majere and Steph please PM me your characters. I haven't decided whether or not I want them posted in the planning thread yet. My character in this thread will be the same one in BW's thread Eboni and Ivori, so I'm reluctant to post her bio since I know BW had reasons for not having us post bios in her thread. How ever my character's personality in BW's thread is brought about by events at the end of this story so it shouldn't cause too much conflict

The story centers around my character ( Bre ) and AA21's character ( Cain ) and their relationship with each other. It's about the tragedy of loss, the need for understanding and love and the desire for revenge.

We'll start off in Qualinesti at the destruction of Qualinost and from there we'll be traveling between Qualinesti and Sylvanesti with some (hopefully) intersting events happening along the way. This tale isn't so much about events on a grand scale as it is about the personal development of the characters involved. Of course, to keep it exciting I plan on including nice life threatening encounters. ;) There will be Dark Knights, minotaurs, and gods... Ohmai!!

While I'm waiting for character bios, I'll try to elaborate a little bit on the begining of the thread. I don't want to say too much about the overall plot. Since it's more of a character interact/development type of tale, I'd like to keep some of the encounters slated futher down the road a surprise.

The story starts moments before Qualinost collapses and becomes Nalis Aren. The timeline for the story will run concurrent with the end of 'Dragons of a Lost Star' and thruout the rest of the War of Souls. Steph's character will be starting out with me near the Qualinost side of the White Rage River, outside of Qualinost proper where they were with forces harrying the Knight attempting to cross. We'll be picking up AA21 and Majere within a few posts and the others starting locations will be determined soon. I have plans for the party to see the newly made Lake of Death around sunset that day, where they'll be "treated" to an interesting (and heart wrenching) sight. After this we'll be heading to try and catch up with the rest of the refugees, keeping an eye for the living on the way.

I think what I've decied to do with character bios in this case is to just post a summary of

who is who with some basic details on appearance once I get everyone's characters aprroved. Those will be forthcoming as soon as I've heard from everyone. Also if we the group gets split up for a time, and if I see a need I will make a separate thread for one-on-one's and differnt groups and run those there, so the main thread isn't all jumbled up with various "sides" posting all at once.

I'm really looking forward to getting this thing off the ground. Any ideas on subplots are welcome, and I'll do my level best to work those things into the story and make this as fun for everyone as I can. :)

Appearance: tall for an elfmaid, graceful and slight of build with waist length black hair often worn in a loose braid and just as often worn free flowing, emerald green eyes, medium complexion. Wears leather armor a blend of green and brown in color.

Equipment: Leather armor, backpack, bedroll, and other traveling necessities, [elven longsword (bane of undeath)] ,a dagger, a composite short bow ( masterwork) and a dark gray cloak

AA21 - Kaltoss (Cain Shalkio)
Race: Elf
Class: Fighter
Gender: male

Equipment: Slim long sword, long bow, quiver, leather armor.

Appearance: Cain has brown hair that is always loose, he is very slim and dexterous. His eyes are light green, smiles often.

Stephanya - Nutrire
Race: Qualinesti Elf
Gender: Female
Class: Mystic

Equipment: long, cream white robe closed by a golden bodice; dark blue sash wrapped around waist; silver amulet; silver charm; iron bracers; black collar around neck; silver and blue bow tying hair in a ponytail; silky veil covering hair, held down by a silver band; dagger, just in case to defend herself.

Appearance: long blond hair; narrow, but cheerful violet eyes; 5’4”; slim; a face one that still holds the un-aged youth of elves

Majere - Ranathalas Half-Elven (Ran)
Race: Half-elf
Age: 35
Class: Fighter
Gender: Male

Equipment: Elven-crafted short sword, and matching sheild. Quiver and Longbow, and two daggers, one stuffed in each boot.

Description: Tall and strong, towering over most of his elven friends. He his ruggedly handsome, looking more human than most half-elves, and having the strong build of humans to go along with it. His rugged handsomeness also gives him an air of rougishness to the young Qualinesti women. He stands 6'0" and weighs 210lbs. His ears barely taper, but do so just enough to make you realize that he is indeed a half-elf. The only thing that easily gives away his elven heritage are his exotic looking eyes. Violet in color, and slanted to just the right degree.

Silverback - Name: Alyssa mi Silverserpent
Class: Holy Crusader
Race: Silvanesti Elf
Age: Undeterminable
Height/Weight: 5'3" 110 lb

Equipment: Alyssa is dressed in a suit of silver plate mail that runs from head to toe. On her back she carries a very large greatsword. The greatswords pommel is made of pure silver and gleams brightly in the sun. Engraved into her armor, as if it is winding up her body, is a snake.

Appearance: She has long dirty blonde hair that reaches just below her waist (although most of the time it is pulled forward over her shoulders so that it drapes down her front). Her eyes are bright green and the pupils are no longer black..they are silver.
There are no distiguishing marks except that her skin is flawless and seems to retain it's smooth texture even during and after strenuous battles.

Having said that...

I'm going to need some ideas soon. I have the first really truamatic group experiance planned, but I'm going to need some good thoughts on what to do with everyone on the way out of the woods so to speak ;) I need to buy time (almost 2 weeks by the books) for the Qualinesti to actually get across the Plains of Dust. Our method of travel will be much more expeditious and I don't want our party to get there too much ahead of Gilthas and the refugees. I'm just looking for some intersting encounters to throw at us ( like possibly running into a scouting party of goblins/draconians that was sent to look for fleeing elves). SO bring on the suggestions! :)

Two weeks-- how about we make a wrong turn somewhere or how about something happens to Cain and we need to like wait for him to recover from a snake bite or to save him from being held hostage by the Plainsmen-- this could also work with Bre or for anyone else for that matter ^o^

Foot supply runs down; stranded and lost; don't have a clue to where we are going... dehydration; getting ambushed... the list can go on forever ^-^

She didn't know his name-- and wanting to gain his attention; if not-- then that would be alright-- she was used to being ignored, she wouldn't force a person to acknowledge her, but it was hard to just simply push her away. Graphics great
Storyline...It's zelda so you know the basics but they do a wonderful job of revitalizing the story so you don't know what's to come next
As for the controls....it's really easy and cool. You swing the controller to attack, fish, aim, etc. and it gets really easy after about 30 minutes.
Basically the game of OoT times 2 in my opinion....

I have the first one on Gamecube it was with a little collection thing back then ^-^ I played it and haven't gone that far ^p^ But I know my mom and dad beated it (go mom and dad! ^o^)

I never beat it on the original NES, but I do have a version on the computer that's almost identical to the NES original that I'm close to beating now. Never beat the second one either.. that last palace was a pain in the ***! :mad:

No, I haven't played Master Quest yet. I actually just bought OoT for Gamecube, and it has Master Quest! I don't know, I'll get to it eventually! :p Yeah, the first one was really cool, but good lord Ganon is hard as crap! I love it though, some games have just gotten too easy! And steph, have you played that Windwaker Zelda? I have heard good and bad things about that, but never bought it. WAs it good? Do you know?

Never beat the original NES zelda.....that was a pain. As for Windwaker, despite the 'childish' graphics that game is really good, especially the counter system. It's a must for any Zelda game :D
